Emily has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1999 and an RDA for 5 years prior. Emily currently runs the front office, helping with all your dental needs, scheduling, and financial planning. You will occasionally see her work in the back when her assistance or expertise are needed.
Tasha started off in our office as an intern and joined our team in 2013 as a Registered Dental Assistant. If you are thinking of straightening your teeth, Tasha will be right by your side helping you through your monthly orthodontic visits.
Rachael has been in the dental field since 2008 and became a licensed Dental Hygienist in 2011. She joined our team in July of 2015 and our patients lover her. Her bright spirit will help you through your dental cleanings as she educates you on all the important information for your dental and overall health.
Jeanine joined our team in October 2017 and has been a wonderful addition. She's been working in dentistry for over 18 years as an RDA. Her kind heart and friendly demeanor will make you feel comfortable in the chair, knowing you are in good hands.
Valerie became a licensed Dental Hygienist in 2017 and joined our team shortly after. She has a gentle touch and is great at keeping her patients smiling. She will keep you relaxed while updating you on the latest dental information.
Dr. Mullen was raised in the Southern California area. After graduating from Crescenta Valley High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. For four years he worked as a radar specialist aboard the U.S.S. Gridley guided missile cruiser. He is a veteran of the Gulf War and served on two 6-month deployments during his 4 years of enlistment. After separating from the Navy at 22, Dr. Mullen started his education to become a dentist.
Dr. Mullen graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Biology. He went on to the University of California at San Francisco for four years to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He met his wife, Emily, at UCSF who went on to become a dental hygienist. After graduating from UCSF dental school in 2000, Dr. Mullen re-entered the Navy, this time as a Dental Officer. Dr. Mullen completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry training during his first year. He was then stationed on the U.S.S. John C, Stennis air craft carrier and completed an 8-month deployment to the Gulf region supporting Operation Enduring Freedom right after September 11th. After serving 2 years on the Stennis, Dr. Mullen served 2 more years at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot where he provided dentistry to new Marine recruits. After serving a total of 5 years as a Navy Dental Officer, Dr. Mullen and Emily decided to move to Redding to continue raising their 2 boys.
In 2005, Dr. Mullen was honored to take over Dr. Donald Dunbars practice of 30 years. He and Emily live in Redding with their boys, Ethan and Brennan, and continue to build their ideal dental practice together. Dr. Mullen continues to participate in professional dental study groups, continuing education, and advanced training to uphold the standard of care he provides to his patients. He enjoys golfing, white water kayaking, and reading in his free time. He is an avid So-Cal sports fan, and can be caught laughing with his patients.

This is the best dental care I have received in decades !!! My teeth are so important to me & the quality of care I received is above & beyond my expectations ! They were so kind & courteous !!! Which is a huge plus seeing I am not thrilled when I need to go get my teeth checked . They are beautiful individuals who deliver professional & quality care for both your teeth & you :) grateful I finally found a great place to get my dental care taken care of :) thank you so much Dr. Mullens & staff for making my teeth look beautiful !!!

I cannot say enough about how great this office is. I have extreme anxiety around going to the dentist and they worked as quickly and carefully as possible to give me a great experience. For the first time in years I have a healthy smile thanks to Dr.Mullen and his team.

By far the best dentist office I have ever been to! Dr Mullen and his team are absolutely amazing! The team is extremely kind and experienced. They go out of there way to make sure you feel comfortable and welcomed from the moment to step in the the office to the moment you leave. Highly recommend Mullen Family Dentistry!

The most kind staff you'll ever meet! My husband and I hadn't seen a dentist in about 15 years. Raising kids and getting them through braces, we decided it was finally time to take care of our teeth. We were nervous and a bit embarrassed, knowing we didn't place our oral hygiene as a priority. Not once did anyone make us feel ashamed, nor did we feel judged. They came up with a plan and explained how each process will be. We appreciate how sweet all the women working there are, along with how awesome Dr. Mullen is! Very thankful to have found such a compassionate, amazing dentistry!

Perhaps the best dental office my family and I will experience. My husband found this place and now my parents who are seniors and don't speak much English still feel comfortable enough to go there by themselves. They definitely treat everyone with the same love and respect. Dr. Muellen is super awesome and caring. All the ladies there are very friendly, loving, and helpful. When you're there, you definitely feel like family.

I had a hard time trying to get a dentist to see me in Redding any sooner than several weeks or at all. They're booked up or not accepting new patients. We need more dentists in this town like Dr. Mullen who, along with his sweet staff, saw me sooner and even right after his own personal family emergency. Dr. Mullen is one of the kind of dentists I've had experience with in the past, the kind I trust and feel comfortable with. Thanks to Mullen Family Dentistry.

This is by far the best dental facility I've ever been to and I recommend contacting their office to set up an appointment if you're not satisfied with your current dentist or are just looking to upgrade! Their equipment is all high quality and you won't find better care anywhere else. 10/10 experience every single visit

Absolutely love my experience at Dr. Mullen! I've had really bad experiences with Dentist but Dr. Mullen and his team have been the most redemptive experience. I use to hate going to a dentist and now I love my visits because of the incredible results I see! They make you so comfortable and minimize any discomfort you might have while they work on your teeth. They are also very honest and won't try to get you to do more work on your teeth if it's not needed. By far THE best dental office I've ever been to! Also, shoutout to Rachel who does my cleanings with such excellence, she is the best dental hygienist I've had!

Dr. Mullen and his stay did an outstanding job! I had some cosmetic bonding work done to fix the imperfections in my smile and I can honestly say I have not stopped smiling since I left the office! Everyone at Dr. Mullens Dentistry is beyond friendly. The make you feel welcome and right at home. I will gladly recommend all of my friends and family to them! Thank you guys. You rock!
