Dr. Ruben Espinoza is our part-time pediatric dentist who strives to offer the highest quality of care for children in a warm and caring atmosphere, and fully attentive to the patients needs. Hes a strong believer in early preventative measures and education to facilitate positive attitudes towards establishing and maintaining a good oral health.
Dr. Espinoza is a native of the Bay Area, growing up in the city of San Mateo. He attended the University of California, Berkeley where he received his bachelors degree in molecular and cell biology Go Bears! His dental degree was then obtained from the University of California, San Francisco.
He realized that his passion was working with children and then completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry in the combined program at the University of Southern California and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, sports, cooking and traveling.

We understand the dentists office can be scary, which is why we take special care to help your little ones feel comfortable on their first trip in.
We do our best to explain to your child what to expect so there are no surprises. During their visit, it is our goal to examine the development of their mouth, including: crowding, appearance of calcium deposits, abnormalities in number of teeth, baby bottle tooth decay, gum disease, TMJ, and signs of prolonged problems such as thumb-sucking and teething. We also like to educate them on proper brushing methods and dental care, and letting them be a part of the process concerning their dental health so that they can develop life-long habits.
Attaining the smile youve always wanted is as important to you as it is to us, and helping you affordably achieve that smile is our main goal. We are preferred providers for numerous plans including most PPOs and our fees are often equivalent or similar to those allowable under other preferred provider arrangements. He attended Howard University in Washington D.C., where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, earning his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, while serving as captain of Howards Division 1 soccer team.
In 2008, he earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He continued on at the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Chief Resident during his post-doctoral Orthodontic residency and received his Orthodontic specialty certificate in 2010.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, mountain biking, hiking, and being active. He is dedicated to his profession and passionate about working with his patients. His goal as a clinician is not only to create beautiful, functional and healthy smiles, but also to build mentorships with his patients and serve as a positive and uplifting voice in their lives. .
Paulett has been in the dental field since 2011 and joined the Muir Station Smiles family in 2017. She enjoys working with kids because she believes they have the most sincere smiles and they are never afraid to share their opinions or feelings. Paulett is passionate about working at Muir Station Smiles because her hard work and dedication are recognized and there is always an opportunity to grow.
Outside of the office Paulett loves to find new adventures for her children, Samantha and Sebastian such as zoo visits, hikes, and new parks. Whenever she has time to herself she enjoys a good book with a cup of coffee or she creates beautiful crochet projects.

The doctor is always super helpful with my sign and it helped even more today that I saw my friend Taylor who I haven't seen in a very long time and she was absolutely amazing with my son and the lady who cleaned my sons teeth was also super friendly and super nice as well

Amazing Children's Dentist. Professional, kind, caring and gentle. They educate the children in terms they can understand regarding care for their teeth and gums. My daughter LOVES the dentist now!! They play cartoons in the treatment room and when done, they get balloons and gift pack with new toothbrush and floss that my daughter is more excited to use than the ones I buy her.

Previously had some really good experiences with my daughter. Problems started when I began trying to bring my son in. Apparently there were issues with the insurance for my son, which they called me about a week prior to their appointment. As I didn't have the information they needed on hand I rescheduled and my wife called in. Once again they called me while at work so I asked my wife to call and give them the insurance information. She was told that some other department handled that and they could not verify on the spot whether the info was correct. We never received any confirmation and assumed they canceled the appointment. The day of I get a text with instructions to check in so I call to ask about the status of the insurance. The one I spoke to said that there were no notes on their system but she could take the insurance info and l verify ON THE SPOT. She did but seems like the whole issue was that they had the wrong birthday on file. Once I checked both kids in they got my son in a chair first and did his cleaning. Although we were just waiting on the doctor to check his teeth they couldn't get started on my daughter until there was a free chair. But once a chair was free they sat another brother sister combo. Then they sat my daughter and got her started on the x-rays while the doctor checked my son's teeth. After getting my daughter's teeth cleaned the assistant was scheduling the next appointment as the doctor was checking the younger of the other two siblings. When he was done the assistant didn't let him know that we were next, I saw her make an attempt to get his attention but let him move on to another child. After he was done with that one no attempt was made to let him know we were next and he moved on to the oldest of the other two siblings. After that it seems like he might have been told about us but he had a child who was anesthetized waiting on a procedure. I asked how long the wait was going to be and they didn't give me an estimate but instead apologized because there was no number on the monitor letting the doctor know what place we were in. He finally saw us and checked my daughter within 2 minutes. Left there 2 hours after arriving.
