A native of the Willamette Valley, Dr. Thomas C. Mueller obtained a Bachelor of Science at Willamette University, and graduated from Oregon Health andScience University (OHSU) School of Dentistry for both his Doctorate of Dental Medicine(DMD) and advanced specialty training in the department of periodontics.
During his three-year speciality residency at OHSU for advanced education in periodontics, Dr. Tom focused much of his training on dental implants and implant-related surgeries. This included advanced hard- and soft-tissue augmentation procedures, such as sinus augmentation and block grafting.
Furthermore, his training included advanced sedation, includingintravenous (IV) sedation, as well as hospital-based treatment of medically compromised armed service members at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (PVAMC). Although a large portion of his current practice is comprised of implant-related treatment, thepractice is also heavily focused on periodontal plastic surgery, including aesthetic soft tissue grafting and aesthetic crown lengthening, as well as regenerative periodontal therapies.
Dr. Tom is Board Certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery by the American Board of Periodontology. Thiscertification is the highest level of distinction awarded to private practitioners in the field of periodontics and dental implants.
He is also a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) andthe American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and locally he participates with the Southern Willamette Dental Society. Dr. Tom is heavily involved in dental continuing education, including lecturesto study clubs for dentists, hygienists, and dental students.
Dr. Fred A. Mueller , a resident of the Willamette Valley since youth, began his higher education at Willamette University and earneda BA in biology with a minor in German language. The next years featured the completion of a Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry. A tour in the US military as a dentisttook him to Europe for 3-1/2 years, where travel was a coveted pastime.
Following several years of general dental practice in Idaho, Dr. Fred returned to OHSU to complete specialty training for advanced education in periodontics. The mid-Willamette Valley became an oasis for hisyoung family and they settled in Corvallis. His practice has provided periodontal care in the community and mid-Valley area since 1981.
During his 30 years of periodontal specialty, his dual practices served the coastal communities as well, with an office in Newport. Dr. Fred specializes in the full scope of periodontal and aesthetic gingival procedures, hard- and soft-tissue augmentation, dental implant placement and related procedures, and regenerative periodontal therapy.
Dr. Fred is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and Oregon Society of Periodontists, for whichhe served as president. He is active in the Corvallis community and involved with philanthropic organizations. His passions away from dentistry include outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, flyfishing, and anything outdoors!
