A native of the Willamette Valley, Dr. Thomas C. Mueller obtained a Bachelor of Science at Willamette University, and graduated from Oregon Health andScience University (OHSU) School of Dentistry for both his Doctorate of Dental Medicine(DMD) and advanced specialty training in the department of periodontics.
During his three-year speciality residency at OHSU for advanced education in periodontics, Dr. Tom focused much of his training on dental implants and implant-related surgeries. This included advanced hard- and soft-tissue augmentation procedures, such as sinus augmentation and block grafting.
Furthermore, his training included advanced sedation, includingintravenous (IV) sedation, as well as hospital-based treatment of medically compromised armed service members at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (PVAMC). Although a large portion of his current practice is comprised of implant-related treatment, thepractice is also heavily focused on periodontal plastic surgery, including aesthetic soft tissue grafting and aesthetic crown lengthening, as well as regenerative periodontal therapies.
Dr. Tom is Board Certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery by the American Board of Periodontology. Thiscertification is the highest level of distinction awarded to private practitioners in the field of periodontics and dental implants.
He is also a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) andthe American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and locally he participates with the Southern Willamette Dental Society. Dr. Tom is heavily involved in dental continuing education, including lecturesto study clubs for dentists, hygienists, and dental students.
Dr. Fred A. Mueller , a resident of the Willamette Valley since youth, began his higher education at Willamette University and earneda BA in biology with a minor in German language. The next years featured the completion of a Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry. A tour in the US military as a dentisttook him to Europe for 3-1/2 years, where travel was a coveted pastime.
Following several years of general dental practice in Idaho, Dr. Fred returned to OHSU to complete specialty training for advanced education in periodontics. The mid-Willamette Valley became an oasis for hisyoung family and they settled in Corvallis. His practice has provided periodontal care in the community and mid-Valley area since 1981.
During his 30 years of periodontal specialty, his dual practices served the coastal communities as well, with an office in Newport. Dr. Fred specializes in the full scope of periodontal and aesthetic gingival procedures, hard- and soft-tissue augmentation, dental implant placement and related procedures, and regenerative periodontal therapy.
Dr. Fred is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and Oregon Society of Periodontists, for whichhe served as president. He is active in the Corvallis community and involved with philanthropic organizations. His passions away from dentistry include outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, flyfishing, and anything outdoors!

Dr Mueller is a periodontist with very high standards. My bone graph went very well. Ironically, I had his father many years ago. High levels of perfection run in the family indicating superior genetics (how is this for a positive comment?). His staff are all very well trained, friendly, highly knowledgeable, and operate like a well organized Seal Team to get the job done with as little discomfort to the patients as possible. Do not let their speed and efficiency fool you. Things have gone so well my two check up visits have taken less than 10 minutes. There is one thing that is odd with a number of periodontists in Corvallis. It seems that black nursing attire (scrubs) are the current rage so there is no need to be alarmed if you think you have walked into a Ninja training school. Believe me, if Dr Mueller's nurses are Ninjas then they are very good Ninjas.

I don't know why I was so worried about implants, Dr. Mueller and his staff were so caring and informative. I got 3 implants and it went superb! They explain what's going to happen ahead of time, I don't even remember the procedure, which was my greatest fear and recovery was a little painful for about two days only! Then achy for a week. 4 months later I'm at my dentist to get my new teeth. Yes it's expensive but I want someone who is knows what he's doing drilling into the bone in my mouth. Don't wait, just go for it. Dr Mueller and his staff were wonderful!

I would highly recommend Mueller Implants and Periodontics! Dr. "Tom" Mueller was very professional and thoroughly explained every step of my dental implant procedures on both sides of my lower jaw. He even phoned me over the weekend to check on my first extractions and bone grafts. His entire staff from techs to front desk were so caring and helpful. Shout out to Julie at the front desk...always so helpful and pleasant! I interviewed two other oral surgeons, one in Salem and one in Corvallis. Dr. T. Mueller's charges were in line with both the other practitioners. I live on the Coast and received care at both his Corvallis office and his Newport office. Major surgeries were performed in Corvallis and all followups were performed in Newport. He works closely with my general dentist, Dr. Chadwick. It was so wonderful not to have to drive a 4-hour round trip to Corvallis for half-hour followups. Staffs at both facilities were excellent. You will be very relieved knowing you are working with a knowledgeable implant specialist, such as Dr. Thomas Mueller and his staff. Again, highly recommend!

Dr. Mueller is very thorough, low key, doesn't pressure his patients at all. I was pleased with the work I had done. His Hygienist, Toni, was very good. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, professional and puts you at ease.

Review of Dr Tom Mueller When I arrived in Corvallis over 6 years ago, I decided to see Tom Mueller as my periodontist. I saw a good hygienist there several times a year. I also saw Dr Mueller once a year for a quick check-up. The second or third time I saw him, he said I had problems with both sides of the two upper molars. He recommended extracting one if not both of the ones on the right side. He devised a treatment plan for that side, involving sinus augmentation and extraction for $7,000. I was asymptomatic and decided to get a second opinion. I found that Salem had a highly respected periodontist who was trained in Germany. There Dr Andres Kaindl saw me and suggested that he fix one of the teeth on the right for $700 rather than $7000 by doing a root amputation. The other teeth, he said, were OK. Dr Kaindl did the root amp over two years ago on the one molar. He didn't do anything to the other one. Both on the right are now just fine. The ones on the left continue to be fine. I now see Dr Kaindl.

I had very bad PTSD from previous dental experiences, to the point where my blood pressure would sky-rocket every time I'd cross the threshold of a dental office. While my logical self was fine, my body would scream "no friggn' way!!" So I kept putting off gum grafting for years. I finally found Dr. Mueller who had no hesitation with a plan that would help me cope. He and his staff were really fabulous, did a great job and I had almost no pain. It was such a good experience, that I'll never hesitate to have any dental procedure again. I think they cured my trauma, not just my mouth!

I have had the best experience, here! My dental problems were overwhelming, to say the least. Dr. Mueller has performed bone and gum grafting, and implants for me. His work is so excellent, that I'm convinced that he is doing exactly what he was called to do, in life! Local communities are blessed to have his expertise. His staff is wonderful. They are professional and very helpful.

I'm a retired dentist that has worked with Dr. Mueller for many years. I have always been impressed with his care, skill and quality of care that he always extended to my patients. Six months ago I also had to have a bone grafting procedure in a difficult area to treat. My treatment of this area was done with very little post operative discomfort and as of yesterday on follow up it showed a great and successful result had been obtained. I am still very impressed with Dr. Mueller's abilities and care and would recommend him full heartedly to anyone needing periodontal, implant or cosmetic oral surgical procedures.

I have been going to Mueller implants and periodontics for many years. The staff are outstanding from office staff to hygienists and assistance. Doctor Mueller is a great dentist who is friendly and gentle. I would recommend this office to anyone who needs this service.
