At Mt. Diablo Orthodontics, Dr. Reichhold and Dr. Vargas are committed to exceeding the standards of their profession. They are active members of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Contra Costa Dental Society and the World Federation of Orthodontists. In addition, Dr. Reichhold serves on the faculty at the UCSF Orthodontic program as an assistant clinical professor. The doctors also have been invited on numerous occasions to speak about orthodontics to dental groups.
Dr. Gary Reichhold received his bachelors degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He then attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) in June of 1987. He graduated with honors and was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He then completed his education at UCSF School of Dentistry where he received his Certificate in Orthodontics in 1989.
Dr. Ricky Vargas attended Holy Names University where he graduated Cum Laude and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2009. He attended UCSF School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) in June of 2016, and then continued his education at UCSF earning his Masters of Science degree in Oral Biology and Craniofacial Sciences and his Certificate in Orthodontics in 2019. Dr. Reichhold was proud to be one of his professors.
Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Vargass biggest hobby is spending time with his family. He also loves soccer and played in the Professional Developmental League in New Orleans before attending dental school.
Gaby has been in the orthodontic field since 1991 and joined our team in 2002. She loves meeting our new patients and following them through their orthodontic treatment from start to finish. She enjoys the interaction with our patients as well as the entire staff to help create a fun atmosphere in the office. Gaby is also our dental awareness program coordinator as well as our marketing coordinator. When she is not working on our social media content and promoting what makes Mt. Diablo Orthodontics unique, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family and her pugs Oti and Bella.
Angela decided on a career in orthodontics in 1997 to improve smiles and self-confidence in everyone. She has been with our practice since 2000. Her bubbly and energetic personality is enjoyable to everyone. In her spare time, she enjoys bocce ball, attending her boys lacrosse and soccer games and volunteering at her church. Angela also is an avid San Jose Sharks fan.
We are proud to have Stephanie as part of our Team. Her bubbly and happy personality make her a great fit for our practice. She joined us with over 25 years of orthodontic experience. In her spare time, she loves hiking and being outdoors. Stephanie also enjoys cooking for her friends and family and spending time with her two wonderful children Jack and Riley and Beau the family dog.
Leah came to us from the ophthalmology field which she was in for several years but she always wanted to get into the dental profession like her sister-in-law, our very own Veronica. She jumped at the chance when we finally had an opening. She has proven to be such an awesome addition to our team. You can find Leah at the front desk as well as working on patients. She is an avid San Jose Sharks fan and enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, yoga and camping. She loves weekend getaways with her boyfriend Ryan and spending time with her dog Sampson.
Michelle is an awesome team member! She began her career in the healthcare field in 2008 and lucky for us she switched to orthodontics. In her spare time, she loves to travel to the Pacific Northwest and take weekend trips to Pioneer with her husband Steven. Michelle has 2 lovely cats that she adores. Michelle loves meeting new people and interacting with patients! She is excited to be in the Orthodontic field and being a part of our dental community!
Veronica has been in the dental field since 2010. While she has worked in general dentistry and oral surgery, she enjoys being a part of the orthodontic field most of all. Veronica loves the process of creating a healthy and beautiful smile from start to finish. When she isnt in the office, she enjoys hiking with her adorable dog, Smokey, baking sweet treats, creating awesome things on her cricket and going on trips with her amazing husband Jordan and spending time with her baby Dominic.
Tamara started her career in pediatric dentistry in 1989 and she joined our team in 1993. She is always upbeat, positive and brings closeness and a sense of family to our office. She enjoys camping, paddle boarding and spending time with her family. She loves her two dogs Mali, Shyloh and her cat Milo. Tamara and her husband are avid As fans and they both enjoy renovating their home and gardening.
Kim has been in the dental field since 1992 and she truly loves the specialty of orthodontics. She joined our team in 2014. She is originally from Canada and she enjoys going back to visit her family and friends often. She loves to read, bake and spend time with her daughter. Kim and her husband love weekend getaways and are huge San Jose Sharks and San Francisco 49er fans.
Laurie has been in the dental field since 1989 and she joined our team in 1996. She is a valuable asset to our team because she wears so many hats in our office. Laurie helps plan all of our office events and she keeps us organized. In her spare time, Laurie enjoys reading and working out as well as spending time at her cabin in the mountains.
Felicia has been in the dental field since 1982. She has been with us since 2011. Felicia always meets our patients and families with a smile and adds a happy and bubbly personality to our office atmosphere. If you look around our office you may just find some of her cute artwork on our bulletin boards! In her spare time, she enjoys writing and art, and it is no surprise she has an exceptional eye for decorating and fashion. She is a true asset and integral part of our team!
Valerie has been affectionately caring for patients since 1986. She truly shines in what she does as a chairside assistant and enjoys learning all she can about orthodontics and how to better care for patients. Valerie enjoys fishing and weekend getaways with her husband. She loves going to concerts, and especially loves Blues music. She has a dog, a cat and a bird that get along harmoniously.
Stacy has been in the dental field since 2003 and is one of our newest team members! Her favorite part of orthodontics is watching patients confidence grow and their smiles transform. She believes everyone deserves a beautiful smile! Stacy loves swimming, riding bikes and gardening but her favorite thing to do is spending time with her two children Kenzie and Brody.
Suzanne has been in the orthodontic field for over 30 years. After taking some time off she has rejoined our practice which adds up to 18 + years with us! We are super excited to have her back. She has always been a special part of ourortho family. When she is not working she loves to spend time traveling with her family. Suzie enjoys the outdoors so camping and gardening is definitely a must aswell as water sports. Spending time on the football field watching her son play at DLS has been one of her favorite things to do and it keeps her pretty busy!
Maria has recently joined our team and we are so excited to have her!Maria began her dental career in 2019 and is working towards her RDA.She loves our specialty and especially meeting all of our patients and families.During her free time Maria enjoys spending time with her family as well as goingto the city. She is a big Harry Potter fan and loves experimenting with makeup.We welcome Maria into our dental community with open arms.
