MP Dental Associates was established by Dr. Cesar Montalvan and his wife, Dr. Marjan Partovi, to serve the dental needs of the suburban community of Northern Virginia. With our doctors' unique backgrounds, educational qualifications, and sound practice philosophies, we constantly strive to provide the highest quality of dental care to our patients.

Upon her arrival to the area she attended college at the University of Maryland where she graduated magna cum laude. She then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She stayed in school an additional year to complete a rigorous one-year residency program in Advanced General Dentistry where she gain valuable experience in treating patients in a comprehensive way. Dr. Partovi has been in private practice since graduating from dental school in 2000.
She has a keen interest in periodontics (gum disease treatment), esthetics, and endodontics (root canal treatment) through her strong commitment to continuing education. But what really makes Dr. Partovi unique is her warm, caring and friendly chair side manner.
Dr. Partovi is a licensed dentist in both the states of Virginia and Maryland and is recognized for her accomplishments by the North East Regional Boards (NERBS) and Southern Regional Testing Agency (SRTA).
I was born In Tehran, the capital of Iran. I have been living in DC area since 2004. I received my bachelor's in biology at George Mason university. Spending my childhood in the capital city, Tehran, I became passionate with life in the city, and joined New York university Dental School where I spend 4 years living in the city. I graduated from NYU Dental school in 2021.
MP Dental office is a very friendly and welcoming environment. We understand that each patient's need is unique and important. Therefore, we work as a team to provide the best treatment tailored for each patient's need. It is my honor to be part of a profession that promotes oral care and overall patient's health.
Dr. Cesar Montalvan graduated from UPCH in 1995. Originally from Peru, he moved to the DC area in 2000 to attend the University of Maryland Dental School. There he completed a rigorous two-year postdoctoral residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and was selected as Chief Resident. In 2002 he started working as an associate in Centreville, Virginia until 2005 when he decided to start his own practice.
Dr. Montalvan is passionate about using the latest technology to improve the comfort and quality of dentistry for his patients and their families. His passion for learning has never subsided and he is constantly attending continuing education seminars across the US and abroad to increase his knowledge. In 2007 Dr. Montalvan took and passed the rigorous Academy Of General Dentistry exam, earning the certificate of Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry.
He and his wife, Marjan work together, and have been married for fourteen years. They have twin boys, Ian and Enzo. As a family, they enjoy watching Washington Redskins games, hiking in national parks and playing sports.
Dr. Farihah Khan completed her undergraduate studies at Purdue University with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. She attended dental school at Touro College of Dental Medicine and graduated as part of the inaugural class of 2020. She then continued her training as a General Practice Resident at Montefiore Medical Center.
Genness was born in Mexico but moved here at a young age. She has lived in Manassas, Virginia since she was 8 years old. Genness has been in the dental field for over 10 years. She loves to help patients with getting the most out of their dental benefits to improve their smile. Educating patients about their oral health is her number one goal when it comes to patients. In her spare time she likes to read, hang out with friends and family. Genness is a sports fan, specially soccer. On Sundays you can find her cheering her nephews who both play travel soccer.
Darlene was born in Alexandria Virginia but spent her early years in Guatemala. Darlene is currently attending Northern Virginia Community College to become an ultrasound technician.Darlenes goal is to help her patients be informed, and comfortable before any procedure as well as guiding them to obtain knowledge about their oral health to get the smiles they've always wanted. When Darlene is not at work helping patients or studying, she enjoys going to the movies, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
Zahira is originally from Afghanistan, she graduated from Everest College in 2014 as a dental assistant and has been in the dental field since then and really enjoys working as a dental assistant. Zahira is very passionate about providing you with the right dental care and explaining your dental treatment. In her free time she loves to spend time with her husband and her four wonderful children. She also enjoys going on picnics and hanging out with friends and family.
Arman was born and raised in Fairfax, VA. Arman graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in general biology and will be attending dental school in Fall 2022. Armans goal as an assistant is to help make the patient feel comfortable and prepare everything for each procedure to ensure that the patient is receiving the best care possible. Meeting new patients every day has been Armans favorite part about working at MP dental. Outside of work, Arman likes to play basketball, cook foods from different cultures, and collect sneakers.
Hi, my name is Daniela, I'm from Bolivia. I live in Centreville. I graduated from DATS as a Dental Assistant. I really enjoy working with patients letting them know what kind of treatments are available. I like assisting for root canals and extractions.
Alexa was born and raised in Manassas, Virginia. She has been in the dental field for over a year now. One of her passions is to inform patients of their oral health and dental wellbeing. She comes from a family of dental assistants following in her older sisters footsteps by becoming a dental assistant herself. Alexa has a son, Sebastian and three dogs. in her spare time Alexa likes to cook authentic Mexican food. She also visits her family and friends in Mexico. Alexa continues her education by attending college.

The office manager has zero customer service skills. She is extremely rude and will not allow you to speak with the dentist. I had forgot to ask my dentist a question and tried to ask my question to the dentist as I was checking out and she wouldn't let me talk to them nor would she let me talk to them any other time I went in there unless I was in the chair. She also refused to pass phone messages to them to call me back. I don't believe that the dentists there are aware of how she runs that front desk and how she she can be very nasty to some of the customers when she doesn't like them. The last straw for me was when I caught them committing insurance fraud through my plan and I had to report them. After I complained my insurance company sent me a letter telling me that confirmed the fraud. This can be an issue for you because if you try to go to a different provider your insurance will not cover it because they think you already got the services. This is how I caught them committing the fraud. I would avoid this place at all cost. Sadly the dentists there are great but the office manager is completely ruining their reputation.

Been coming here with my family of 6 since we moved to Northern VA summer 2012. Great rates on ortho compared to other offices in the area. Never had bad experience amd we go twice a year for cleaning. The only negative is the location which can be hard to get in and out due to 28. Ive been using the back entrance in which you drive through the church parking lot in back of the office.

Had two failed fillings on the same horrible molar at another dentist (weekly pain that I thought unimaginable lasting 10 mins. over the course of 18 months became far worse after the second attempt, and near constant). That guy referred me to a dental surgeon for a root canal for "pulpitis." Was quoted more than $2,000 more than MP Dental from the second guy (I had no insurance). After a very good consultation at MP for a second opinion, I took the chance with the "cheaper" surgeon and was so very glad I did. I had been living in pain for over two years, and the surgeon did an amazing job, taking her time and rechecking her work to insure that she removed all of the root to the base of the molar. Recovered painlessly and returned for the permanent cap where I paid the other 50% of the cost. It's been 2 more years now. I'm still so happy.

My family and I have been coming here for all of our teeth needs for over a decade! They are so friendly and thorough and very reasonable! The staff is so down to earth and they always remember us when we come in for our cleanings!

I wouldn't recommend. I had my wisdom teeth removed they forgot to give me a prescription, after care instructions were not provided, and to top it off they wanted to over bill me by $500.

I decided to switch dentist after a few bad experiences here. Without getting too detailed, they recommended a few procedures for me that another dentist claimed were not necessary. The in-office experience was not great. The admin staff was pleasant, but the dentists and hygienists seemed a little informal. The building is kind-of hard to get to unless you are driving toward Manassas on 28. I know for a time they were offering free add-on services for a good Google review, which might explain why their rating is so high right now.

Dentists and staff were friendly and helpful. Root canal was quick and effectively painless. Didn't even need Advil afterwards. Highly recommend.

I have been going to MP Dental for 11 years now. There are many dental offices that are closer to my home; however, because of the staff and dentists, I choose to continue patronizing MP dental. If you are ever in the area and need a dentist, you should check them out! The prices for items not covered or only partially covered by insurance, are reasonable.

I have been going to MP Dental for 9 years. The service is immaculate. Dr. Partovi and Dr. Montalvan help me to overcome my fear of coming to the dentist with their patient nature. I highly recommend this dental office, they are excellent.
