Our dentist office is in Mountainside, but a short drive away from the nearby areas of Union, Springfield, Westfield, Cranford, and Garwood, NJ.
At Mountainside Family Dental, we've always followed the strict safety protocols set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). However, during these unprecedented times, we've also added new protective measures to ensure the safety of our patients and team members now and moving forward into the future.
Dr. Robert Kudla, Sr. completed his undergraduate studies in 1980 at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ, where he received his BS degree in biology. He then attended dental school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark and received his DMD degree in May of 1985.
When he's not taking care of patients, he enjoys spending time with his family relaxing at the Jersey Shore and participating in outside activities such as boating, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoys traveling to different parts of the U.S. and visiting national parks. At home, he enjoys model building,and you might even find him playing video games with his sons from time to time.
Dr. Robert Kudla, Jr. grew up in Westfield, New Jersey. He attended Monmouth University, where he earned a BS in biology, with minors in chemistry and political science. Next, he earneda Master's degree in oral biology fromRutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Finally, he holds a DMD degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Robert Kudla, Jr. is also a member of the Academy of General Dentists (AGD).
He says, 'When I was young, I broke both of my front teeth in half. Watching my father rebuild my front teeth made me fall in love with dentistry. This set me on a path where I learned that each situation presents a unique challenge. I love working with patients to determine exactly what we 're going to do to improve both their smile and their oral health. I love the process and helping to create a beautiful and healthy smile from start to finish.'
In his spare time, Dr. Robert Kudla, Jr. loves learning about new techniques and materials to use in dentistry. He grew up building models with his dad and using his hands to build things, so he still loves to build computers and work in the garden. He also plays video games to keep his hands moving throughout the evening.
Nicole is our office manager, and she has been in the dental field for over 15 years doing everything from assisting to treatment coordinating. Her favorite part of her job is interacting with her patients and building relationships with them.
Xiomara has a passion for helping people, and she's been in the dental field for over 15 years. She appreciates how dentistry changes lives, and she loves being a part of that every day by helping ease patient anxieties and building trust.
Dr. Kudla is the best! I get really really nervous at the dentist. And he really helped put me at ease the whole time. I felt like I could really trust him because he always told me what the plan was, what he was doing, and asked me a lot of questions about how I felt. And most importantly because he did a great job on my teeth. They look good and feel good.

I was very nervous about going to the dentist since it had been many years since my last visit. From the moment I walked into the office, until the moment I left, the entire staff was beyond wonderful!!! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this practice! Staff is wonderful- everybody seems nice. Doctor is wonderful as well. He explained the need for the procedure and the rationale for it when i asked. Would recommend to anybody looking for a dentist.

I definitely recommend this place. Isn't just the place, but the dentists. -I have an ongoing procedure here and dentist Robert Kudla even went out of his way to hook me up with other dentist to get certain work done that didn't fit his description as a dentist. -Hands down, it's the feeling of trust that I feel when I walk in. Couldn't have asked for a better dentist than this office.

Dr Kudla was a God-send for me! I've had so many bad experiences with dentists who weren't attentive, or who tried to sell me services rather than provide me with the best care. Dr Kudla and his staff made me feel so comfortable from the moment I entered the office. The doctor took the time to listen to my concerns, and created a treatment plan that would correct a few issues i had that have bothered me for a long time, and I couldn't be more happy with the results! I would highly recommend Dr Kudla to anyone looking for compassionate care!

I have a great experience! I hadn't had a dental visit since before the pandemic but I'm happy I finally went and tried this place. The lady taking my X-rays was really patient with me and Dr Kudla was really cool . Definitely recommend.
