Margaret Jane Merewether Power was a preachers daughter who came from England to Montclair in 1874 with her husband. One summer day in 1890 she encountered a child who had fallen from a third-story window. Upset that there was no nearby healthcare facility where the child could be helped, she called on other women in her social circle to find a solution marking the birth of Mountainside Medical Center. By 1891, a three-story cottage belonging to widow Eliza Sheridan had been purchased. Dr. John J.H. Love was named the first President of the Medical and Surgical Staff, and Mountainside Medical Center officially began its mission of caring for, curing and nurturing the sick and injured. Today, nearly 130 years later, Mountainside Medical Center is still carrying out that mission. With 365 beds and 820,000 square feet in total, Mountainside Medical Center has come a long way. But some things never change. The compassion and commitment to the community felt by Mrs. Power continues to this day.
Located in on the border of Montclair and Glen Ridge, Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is proud to continue to provide world-class health care in a community setting. The medical center has successfully transitioned from a stand-alone facility to being part of Hackensack Meridian, the most comprehensive and truly integrated network in the state of New Jersey.
Mountainside Medical Centers sponsorship program is committed to partnering with organizations in the communities we serve. Apart from the valuable hours our staff, administration and physicians donate to non-profit organizations, schools, community events, and health clinics, we annually make significant contributions to local education, healthcare and charitable organizations. We are actively involved Montclair State Universitys Scholarship Program, the YMCA of Montclair, Montclair Film Festival, and our sponsorships extend into various health programs and a myriad of other partnerships that enhance the quality of life for all residents in our region.
We receive several sponsorship requests annually and each request is evaluated against established sponsorship criteria with preference given to events and programs in our community that have a health-related focus or whose work is complementary to Mountainsides mission.
If we grant your sponsorship request, we encourage you to provide us with photos so we can share certain sponsorship memories on our social medial channels. Photos can be mailed to Marketing. Please include name of event sponsored in the subject line and include any event information we may need so we can share the image appropriately.

UPDATE: 8-16-2022 Please be careful attending this dental clinic since my visit I visited another dentist which informed me I am NOT in need of a bone graph nor 2 teeth extractions as previously told to me by the Periodontist on my last visit. I called Mountainside Dental on 8-15-22 to retrieve my dental X-rays upon explaining what I was in need of Yvonne hung up the phone on me. Terrible... condescending and dismissive Periodontist, Dr. B became aggressive verbally because I wanted to speak to someone about my experience. Experience was negative and I won't be returning. Work I need done changes with every appointment. My experience left me feeling unsafe, every time I would try to say anything or question the Periodontist I was cut off unable to complete statement or questions.

Don't go!!! They quote you one price, start the work and the middle of treatment change the quoted price. Daughter went here to have her teeth cleaned and was there almost 3 hours. It doesn't take 3 hours to clean Mr. Ed's teeth. Simply ridiculous!!!

Receptionist Milka Ortiz is incredibly rude and charged my card 3x what she said she was going to. She refused to give me my appointment paperwork and refused to allow me to see the doctor, even after I had already paid for the service. Avoid at all costs, I'd rather have all my teeth rot out of my head than go back here and be forced to interact with such a petulant child, who feels entitled to refusing service to emergency patients. This girl should not be in the medical field, she should be fired and replaced with someone who actually has some compassion. Incredibly disappointing.

I took my mom there for her usual cleaning. Every 6 months . Jonnathan matute was her dentist that day. He only took 6 minutes for her cleaning and left it unclean. She said her teeth still felt unclean. I took her for a second opinion at brookdale dental, and they said that there was no cleaning done whatsoever.

Went to this place for years, USE to be great service. The front desk is helpful. Although, this place needs to check their "dentists" they have on staff. They are resident dentists most of them are friendly. I had a bad experience after going there 8 + years. The "dentist" they have named Jonnathan matute had me experience the worst experience with a dentist before. First with my cleaning he rushed it saying he did not want to clean by hand because his hand was hurting and only did it with the machine. He also ontop of that gave me a HORRIBLE filing on my front tooth leaving it with a horrible bonded line infront and "it'll be okay". I went back to evaluate the filling and then the older dentist did say that it needed to be redone because it was Horrible. Had to go back 3-4 times for one simple filling. How are you a "dentist" but can't do one of the most simple tasks on the plant for a "dentist". This place needs to get their dentists in check and see who they have. 0 respect for this place and never going back.

Worse experience I ever had!! Took my daughter to fill a cavity and ended up telling me she needed surgery did a cleaning and sent me on my way. Told me I had to book my daughter's surgery appointment 11 days after her appointment I called no one answered until I complained than they send me to another location to do the surgery. I went to another dentist and told me my daughter didn't even need the surgery!
