Dr. Christopher Shank, a Centennial native, was raised in the Cherry Parkneighborhood, and attended Cherry Creek High School. He graduated with aBachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Minor in anatomy andneurobiology from Colorado State University. Dr. Shank then headed east topursue his career and attended the University of Connecticut Doctor ofMedical Dentistry program. He was awarded the prestigious Fox Award by thedental school faculty as the student who demonstrated the highest clinical,professional and leadership skills. He graduated with a Doctorate ofMedical Dentistry (DMD) in 2004 with distinction.
Dr. Shank had shown a continued commitment to patient care, initiallyserving as a certified nursing assistant at Colorado State University, thenvolunteering in the Hartford Connecticut local community, educatingchildren about dental health and by donating his time to examine and treatmigrant farm workers. In 2004, Dr. Shank appreciated the opportunity totravel to rural villages in Peru to provide dental care along the AmazonRiver.
Dr. Shank pursued a surgical dental residency at Northwestern Hospital inChicago, Illinois. During his residency, he provided treatment tounderserved patients, managed dental care of hospital inpatients and gainedexperience in the emergency treatment and reconstruction in oral and facialtrauma. In addition, he provided oral care to medically complex patientsincluding patients with head and neck cancers. For the past several years,Dr. Shank was in private practice at Northwestern Dental Center and in theChicago area before moving back to Denver.
Dr. Shanks professional memberships include the American DentalAssociation, Colorado Dental Association, Denver Metropolitan Society,Academy of General Dentistry, and Colorado Prosthodontics Society. He was voted by his peers as a 5280 Top Dentist in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018,2019 and 2020.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Shank enjoys running, golfing poorly (His lastname is Shank) and spending free time with his family. He successfullycompleted the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon in 90 plus degree heat in 2007and still runs a few half marathons a year. He is a proud Denver Broncosfan but will continue to cheer for his former cities teams, the ChicagoCubs and Boston Red Sox!
Dr. Shank lives in the Denver area with his wife, Dr. Lesley Bevan, aobstetrician-gynecologist at Metropolitan OB-Gyn and Rose Medical Center,his9 year old son Parker, 6 year old son Luke, 4 year old daughter Isabelle and his11 year oldLabrador retriever. Dr. Shanks extended family has lived in the Denverarea for over 40 years.
Tammy was born in Springfield, Illinois and moved with her family to Arvada when she was 12 years old. She attended dental assistant school working in the field for 10 years before staying home to raise her four awesome children Joshua(28), Nicole (26), Ryan (24), and Brittany (22) with husband Kelly, a Denver Firefighter. Tammy has been with Mountain View Dental for ten years and loves working with such a wonderful team and all of her fantastic patients.
Kathy has been practicing dental hygiene for 33 years. She grew up in Michigan and attended dental hygiene school in Ohio. After living and working in Wyoming for 20 years, where she was a board member of the Wyoming Dental Hygiene Society, she moved with her family to Colorado nine years ago. Kathy has worked in Pediatric and general dentistry and enjoys working with patients of all ages. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three children. Especially when they can take advantage of the sunny Colorado day to get out on the golf course.
