I see dentistry as a means for me to take my unique personal and professional experiences and education, and use them to offer the most complete, high-quality care for our patients. It is really fun to get to know people and offer them these many options, especially so they can make educated decisions themselves. Technology has really opened up the profession of dentistry, in a shift from the dentist telling patients what they need, to today, when we can show patients their condition and ask them what they want.
While in dental school, I was the recipient of numerous awards, including the American College of Dentists Ferrier Memorial Prize, the University of Washington Department of Restorative Dentistry Fixed Prosthodontics Award, and the John D. Guthrie Memorial Scholarship. After graduating from dental school, I worked as a dentist in Mountain Homeand Boise, Idaho before moving back to the state of Washington in 2005.
I enjoy using new technology in dentistry to provide care for and surpass the expectations of my patients. To stay on top of new and emerging science, I participate in Spear Education, a complex and comprehensivesystem that takes us beyond where our formal training left off. It allows me to treat complex restorative issues and look at the mouth as an entire system, rather than one tooth at a time.
I currently live in Anacortes with my wife Ute, and Springer Spaniel, Dory. I love getting outdoors to enjoy all that this area has to offer, during all seasons. We live in a unique place and I like to do whatever I can to get enjoyment from it and give back to it. Thats why Im a board member for the Friends of the Forest and active with the Anacortes Community Forest Lands.
It means a lot to me that patients trust me with their dental care, and it is something that I take very seriously. I love what I do, and the relationships Ive made here at Mountain View Dental Center. Meeting so many unique and interesting patients really opens my eyes to all of the diversity in the world. We are all human beings and are so alike, yet so different. I enjoy interacting with patients of all ages and helping them achieve optimum dental health.
I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and received my bachelors degree from Central Washington University. I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Washington in 2000. After graduating, I served in the Air Force and was stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, for three years, with an additional year on a remote assignment to South Korea. I enjoy being involved with the Spear Institute for Advanced Dental Education and attending their training courses. I am also a Spear Study Club leader, which brings together local general dentists and specialists for advanced dental education.
My husband and practice partner, Charlie, and I live in Anacortes with our Springer Spaniel Dory. I enjoy living life to the fullest, whether Im hiking, going to spin or bootcamp class, cooking, or wine tasting. Its important to have a positive attitude each and every day.

Jane was hired in 2008 as our office manager. She has more than 12 years of experience in the financial industry and eight years of experience as a stay-at-home mom, so organization is her biggest asset! Jane feels so very fortunate to be able to work with such a fun and dependable staff, and such a wonderfully diverse patient group.
Jane and her husband moved to Anacortes in 2000, and love to call it their home. When shes not at work, you will find Jane at the beach or in the mountains with her husband, two kids, and twodogs. She also enjoys walking the many beautiful trails on Fidalgo Island.
The friendly face at check-in! Heather's background in fitness and hospitality means she is energetic and always ready to help with your dental questions or treatment concerns. Knowing dental care plays an important role in maintaining optimal health, she wants everyone to feel comfortable and to have a personable and positive experience. When she's not in the office you can find her gardening, practicing yoga, doing pilates, and ballet barre, or adventuring outdoors. She loves spending quality time with her son and daughter. As a family they enjoy exploring new beaches, going on road trips, trying new foods, and bird watching.
Lindsey joined the front office team in May 2021. Her recent professional experience was in dairy production management which gives her the multitasking skills to help patients with their administrative needs. Outside of the office Lindsey can be found teaching motorcycle lessons and exploring the back roads of the Pacific Northwest.
Cathy is a proud 1987 graduate of Anacortes High School. She attended Lake Washington Votech for her dental assisting training. Most of her assisting has been in general dentistry, and her biggest goal is to make sure patients feel like they are well cared for. She is a mom of 5 and grandma to 2. She enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, camping, and her parish/church family is also a big part of her life. She feels blessed to live in such a beautiful place like Anacortes with the greenery, mountains, and water.
Jessica feels blessed to work with such a wonderful staff that is so focused on providing the highest quality of dentistry to all of our patients. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and competing in agility with her dogs.
Rylee has been a dental assistant for 5 years. She first came to work with us a few years ago, then moved to Colorado for a year, and then came back to WA and we are happy to have her back on our team. A big part of Rylee's job is assisting the dentists with restorative procedures, working in the sterilization area, and organizing lab cases. She truly enjoys meeting new patients and hearing their stories. In her free time she likes hanging out with her 3 dogs, horseback riding, kayaking, and golfing (with the help of her dad and boyfriend.)
Sammy has been dental assisting for over a year, and has more than 20 years of customer service under her belt.' She is enthusiastic about getting to know her patients, creating meaningful relationships, and making sure everyone feels exceptionally cared for. Sammy is currently finishing her pre-requisites at Skagit Valley College and will pursue dental hygiene school. She feels grateful to work with a professional and fun group of co-workers ! Sammy has a 10 year old daughter who she adores spending time with. Together they enjoy traveling, skiing, paddle boarding, hiking, camping, and golfing.

I usually don't write reviews but I just had to,for the great care I received at Mountain View dental center in Anacortes the experience I had with my teeth was stress-free due to their professionalism and knowledge and gentle approach throughout the whole procedure. Everyone that works there is AWESOME!

I've been a patient of Dr Collins for the past five years and could not be happier with the dental care I have received. My most recent visit involved a tooth which broke late one afternoon. I called Mountain View Dental at 4:30pm describing the broken tooth. An appointment was scheduled for the next day at 10:10, and it was determined a crown would be required. Shortly after 11:00am I left the office with a temporary crown in place. This has to be the best dental office in Washington state.

SO IMPRESSED AND PLEASED! I've avoided visiting the dentist because of CV-19, but after hearing about Mountain View's procedures from my best friend I gave it a go. Mountain View is SPOT ON with their protection procedures so I felt totally safe AND the staff is friendly and supportive! Bonus - not once did I feel rushed as I discussed my dental concerns with Dr. Charlie. He spent a good deal of time explaining jaw physiology and options and I left feeling comfortable with my choices. I would not hesitate to recommend them!

Excellent care and personable crew. Having moved from Seattle where I had been going to the same dentist for over 30 years, I was worried about finding a new one here in Anacortes up to the standards I had grown to expect. Dr Charlie's credentials are first rate and I have been extremely pleased with the modern technology and the care and treatment I have received from everyone here. And I really like the email reminders of appointments.

You feel welcome. All the staff even talk to you. During cleaning of my teeth. I was told what each procedure was about. The billing was also explained so I understood.

We are fairly new to Anacortes, and simply hated to leave our dental clinic in SoCal. Pretty high standards were set by our dentist. . . absolutely met by Mountain View Dental Center. Clear and honest evaluation by Dr. Charlie Collins; exceptional cleaning by Karen. This eval is not made in haste. . . it's been 2 years of visits before we posted a review. If there was more than a 5-star review, then Mountain View would receive it from us.

All the ingredients for a top notch Dentist's Office. A very modern office that is very appealing from the moment you walk in. A staff that engages in a very friendly manner, a true sense that they enjoy what they do. The entire staff on every visit has been fun and professional since the first time we came here years ago. The dentistry, treatment and everything else presents itself as very up to date and new. The kids enjoy the positivity and of course the treasure chest at the end, we the parents love the fact we feel like this is the best choice for our family. 5 stars without question.
