My name is Tomeka Jones. In 2003, I joined the Air Force as a dental assistant. There I received my Community College of the Air Force degree in 2005 and was one of six chosen Air Force-wide to attend dental hygiene school in 2007. Along with obtaining an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2009 and a Bachelors Degree in Public Health in 2014, I am also licensed to administer local anesthetic. I have been with Mountain View Dental since March 2012 and am thankful for the opportunity to share with our patients why complete oral care is beneficial to overall health. Currently, I am a member of AADOM (American Association of Dental Office Managers) and am pleased to lead an incredible team who elevates the lives and health of our patients!
My spouse and I are originally from a small town in Southeast Missouri, where we resided for 18 years. Now, we are residents of Alamogordo, NM, and have two children who attend college at UNM. My husband is an Air Force retiree thus, we strongly support the military community and beauty of Alamogordo. We are active in ministry and enjoy shopping, movies, vacationing, and living an abundant life!
My name is Ashley Caraway. I have been a practicing Registered Dental Hygienist for the past seven years, six of which have been with the amazing Dentists and support staff of Mountain View Dental in my hometown of Alamogordo, New Mexico.
My decision to become a (RDH) was made while in my freshman year of college. I was quite certain that I wanted to work in the health field; the question was, In what capacity? The opportunity to help people and make a difference had always appealed to me. As I was pondering the many and varied possibilities of health-related careers, I observed my personal dental hygienist as she went about her duties. Her professionalism, obvious love of her job, and interaction with patients in the clinical setting were attractive qualities. After questioning her in greater depth about her career, I knew this was the right fit for me.
In 2010 I graduated from NMSU-DACC with my Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene. One of the most valuable lessons I learned in school was getting to know and relate to my patients. I have taken that a step further as I have become passionate about helping my patients understand the importance of their overall health and how it relates to their oral health.
After receiving my degree from NMSU-DACC, I married my high school sweetheart, Ricky Caraway. We are born-again Christians and enjoy worshiping, fellowshipping, and serving with our church family. Ricky and I have been blessed with two beautiful children, Braylynn, 5, and Peyton 2. My interests away from work are church, small craft (Pinterest) activities, helping out with my kids activities, and most importantly, just getting to spend time with my little family.
My name is Kayla Burkle. I was born in Ruidoso, NM, and raised in Alamogordo, NM. My dream of working in the dental field began at a very early age as I always loved my visits to the Dentist. After spending time in a dental office during a high school mentorship, I quickly fell in love with the role of dental hygienists. I moved to Las Cruces, NM a little over five years ago to pursue an education in dental hygiene. In May 2019, I graduated with an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Nmsu-Dacc. My career at Mountain View Dental and Orthodontics began shortly after graduation, and I have loved every second of it. I am grateful for the connections that I am able to make with my patients, and most importantly, better their oral and overall health. I am excited for the future ahead of me and a long career in this field. Outside of work, I enjoy binge-watching reality tv shows, shopping, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
I studied dental hygiene at San Juan College in Farmington, NM. I have been a dental hygienist for over 12 years now, and I absolutely love it. Caring for patients is my passion and what drove me to pursue a career in the dental field. Previously I worked at Sky View Dental before I transferred to Mountain View Dental & Orthodontics to work at a bigger dental practice, and I absolutely love it. I love coming to work every day and caring for my patients, and working with the incredible staff here at Mountain View Dental.
Ashley obtained her dental hygiene degree in 2014 from Tarrant county college in Hurst Texas.Before becoming a dental hygienist, Ashley worked as an assistant at an Orthodontics office for 9 years. Ashley enjoys getting to know her patients and takes pride in providing patients with the proper tools in preventing oral disease.
Ashley is from Texas and moved to the area from South Dakota. She is married to her husband, Aaron, who serves in the Air Force, and they have Two children Jackson and Paisley. Ashley and her family love traveling in their camper and enjoy being outdoors
