We are writing to inform you of some recent changes for Mountain Valley Kids Dental. In particular, Dr. Michael Tobler has made the difficult decision to pursue career opportunities in another area of the country which will require a move away with his family. Dr. Tobler wishes to express his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the support and trust you have given him during the last few years as he provided dental care for your families and friends.
We are excited to introduce Dr. Blake Higgins, a highly trained pediatric dentist who has been working with us part-time for a few months! Dr. Higgins is taking over as the new owner and primary dentist in the practice. We are certain you will find his approach kind, effective, and fun!
Dr. Higgins is a native of Eagle County and is happy to be serving his hometown community. His goal as a pediatric dentist is to provide exceptional care for your child while ensuring treatment is delivered safely and thoughtfully.
He received a BA degree from the University of San Diego in psychology with minors in chemistry and biology. He earned his dental degree from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. After dental school, he completed a general practice, hospital-based dentistry residency at Denver Health Medical Center. He then completed his pediatric dental residency at the prestigious Childrens Hospital Colorado, which is consistently ranked among the top 10 childrens hospitals in the nation. Dr. Higgins is also an adjunct faculty at Childrens Hospital Colorado, where he instructs residents on optimal pediatric dental care, while ensuring he stays current on any new developments in the field. Before moving back to Eagle County, he practiced pediatric dentistry in the Denver area.
Dr. Higgins is a board candidate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of theAmerican Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Colorado Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Blake and his entire team are the very best! I never imagined that my kids would LOVE going to the dentist and practice brushing their teeth like Dr. Blake said :) Deb is a pleasure to work with and is super understand in scheduling and supporting my sometimes shifting calendar. I highly recommend Mountain Valley Kids Dental!

We had an amazing first experience with Dr. Higgins. He took all the time needed to make our daughter feel comfortable, and was able to answer any question we had. He gave us simple tips to improve as well. We will have no trouble bringing our daughter back to a dentist after her great experience.

We took our 2 and 3 year old for their first dentist appointment. The staff did an amazing job and made our kids feel comfortable. We will for sure be back. They answered all our questions and were very respectful and kind! We highly recommend sending your kids there for all dental needs!

I brought my son to his first dentist appointment at Mountain Valley Kids Dental. He is 13 months old and instantly felt comfortable with all the staff. Very friendly environment. I very much recommend becoming a patient!

Our family was in the Vail valley area this July for summer vacation and our son crashed on a bike and broke his top right front permanent tooth (basically in half and exposed the pulp) and chipped his left one. Dr. Tobler was able to get us right in and fixed him right up. He put us and most importantly our son at ease and made sure he was comfortable throughout the entire process. Dr. Tobler asked for our opinion on the shape of the tooth as he was in the process of shaping it. He built up a filling to look like his regular tooth and filled the chip. You can't even tell he chipped or broke either one of his front permanent teeth. His smile is as good as new and he doesn't have any pain or issues with it and it's been a month and a half. The office was clean, kid and parent friendly, and each room has a neat mountain activity theme (i.e., camping, biking, rock climbing, skiing). We were so pleased with our visit we'd go back in heartbeat! Thanks, Dr. Tobler and staff!
