At Mountain State Oral and Facial Surgery, we stay up-to-date on the latest technology for the benefit of our patients. We place your well-being above all else and spare no expense when it comes to your personalized care. If you are looking for a state-of-the-art oral surgery facility, you have come to the right place!

Intraoral x-rays are the most common type of dental radiograph. To conduct a digital intraoral x-ray, a small electronic sensor is placed in the mouth. The sensor allows us to capture images of your teeth, roots, and supportive bone without the use of film slides. The position of the electronic sensor is dictated by the type of intraoral x-ray you need.

Digital x-rays omit up to 90% less radiation than a film x-ray. They also allow us to magnify or manipulate the image to gain a more comprehensive overview of your oral structures. Without the film development process, we can retake an x-ray instantly and share them electronically, all without affecting the environment.

CBCT scans allow us to better determine the root cause of a symptom or problem. They also allow us to develop more precise surgical plans for dental implants, tooth extractions, bone grafting, gum grafting, and many other restorative procedures. In other words, CBCT and 3D imaging have revolutionized the way we perform oral surgery.

Had 4 wisdom teeth removed and they just took my money and threw me out the door no papers on explaining what not to do I never had this done before they just expect me to know how to care after wisdom teeth removal. Now I have dry socket. They don't know how to care for a patient

I have procrastinated for 12 years with removing my wisdom teeth and dealt with the pain. Finally I had an infection and realized the wisdom teeth had to go. Mountain State Oral made the whole process so easy and comfortable as possible. ...

I got my wisdom teeth out here on Friday and was beyond scared lol but the girls who assisted were extremely nice, talked me through everything they were doing and made my experience a 10/10!

The friendliest staff I've ever seen! My questions was answered fully, even tho I was anxious, they helped me relax. This was absolutely, by far, the best experience I've ever had with any kind of surgery. I would highly recommend!

The people were nice , the place was beautiful , they were patient / understanding. Evreything was great until I realized I was told nothing about the after care/post opp. I got a sheet of paper with FEW instruction that I couldn't bare to read until the next day even , after I had a clot fall out twice , ran out of gauze and had no idea what the syringe was for. (I was usuing to clean the holes out then was told I should absolutely not be rinsing the holes period. I'm On my fourth day my gums and cheeks are swelling I'm pretty sure I already have dry socket in one because again, I was not told anything ab how to handle the after care for my first ever extraction minus my wisdom teeth which was handled very very well from their office in Charleston I have no complaints what so ever but as of for the kanawha city one , apperently I'm also not the only one that's had to call back after / look things up just to know what to do .

I was very unimpressed with this practice. I had to wait for over half an hour to be taken in, the person who took the X-rays again, though I brought what my dentist sent with me and I understand them wanting their own. This person had problems getting the panoramic X-Ray, but my regular dentist was able to do it after being patient and spending a little time to get it done, and the person in this office didn't try very hard because I have a neck and back injury and have minimal flexibility in my neck. They didn't even get the financial person to meet with me beforehand, and I felt very rushed, like they didn't want to be bothered. It turns out that due to my mobility issues that I will have to have my procedure done in an actual hospital, but not much time taken to explain how this will work. It remains to be seen how it will go, as my surgery has not been scheduled yet, but I will be going to the camc facial surgery center. I did not feel reassured, taken care of, and no concern or compassion at all.

The staff were so nice and accommodating. They explained everything to me in detail & went over X-rays before my wisdom tooth extraction. They even followed up with a phone call that evening to check up on me. Great care!

Omg! The people there were so polite and helpful. They explained everything to me. They answered questions I was to nervous to ask. One employee made me feel like we were best friends and I could call her any time. That's the kind of comfort I want to feel when I go places.

I had to have all 4 wisdom teeth extracted plus 2 more molars removed. They were very friendly and welcoming! I am the biggest chicken when it comes to the dentist, but they were awesome! I was in and out before I even knew it! No pain, no swelling at all. I'm on day 3 and I'm eating somewhat solid/soft foods with no discomfort! I also clean my sites after every meal as well with the rinse they prescribed me. Highly recommend Mountain State!!

I was treated with respect from the time I walked in the office. Each member of the staff had a role in my care. They kept me informed as to what each persons was doing. My recovery was uneventful. I was back home resting within 90 minutes of leaving in the morning. I even watched the end of the today show. Thank you for making a stressful situation as calm as possible.

I recommend anyone here!! I always get very sick when put to sleep .. deathly sick ... and I didn't have one once of sickness! The first time ever!! The only thing that I would suggest is making the patient aware of the amount you have to pay before hand. It's a surprise The girls was soo nice and sweet

My 17 year old daughter was very anxious about procedure to remove her wisdom teeth. Her fears were eased immediately. Everyone we encountered was friendly and very efficient. We were in and out in no time. My daughter also had minimal pain and swelling post procedure. Would definitely recommend Mountain State!!

Well I had a tooth extracted, so I can't really place this visit in the 'enjoyable' category, but it was a positive experience. The staff is friendly and answers all questions. They strive to make the patient as comfortable as possible. I did think the discharge information could have been a bit more detailed as this was not reviewed verbally with me after the extraction. I was on my own to review it once I got home.
