Dr. Garner was born in North Ogden, UT and completed his elementary education within that community. He graduated from Weber High School, and then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State College. He then attended dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, NE, receiving his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree. Upon returning to Utah, Dr. Garner began his practice in downtown Ogden, UT in 1987. He built the current Mountain Springs Dental Building in 2009.
As a Weber High graduate and a Weber State Alumnus, Dr. Cook is no stranger to North Ogden. Dr. Cook graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry, a member of the Texas A&M Health Science Center System, located in Dallas, Texas, where he received his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree, and for 12 years, he and his North Ogden bride, Teresa, lived in Texas.
Dr. Cook loves serving his community with choices and great care. He is reminded that he is a guest of his patients mouth there to serve and do no harm. He also believes there have to be at least 2 choices for his patients to choose from. Whether you need an implant, a bridge, a sealant, or a reminder to floss his interest is in what will help each patient the most. Sometimes that means waiting several months while a patient quits smoking before they get their new smile. Other times hell burn the midnight oil to finish a smile before a wedding. One of his favorite memories was getting to know a police officer in the community, then meeting his girlfriend, all while working on a full smile rehabilitation. He was honored when several months after finishing, they invited him to their wedding and rejoiced in the comfort and healthy smile the groom shared with all who came.
Discovering Dr. Garner and Mountain Springs Dental was the icing on the sugar-free cake. Both he and Dr. Garner complement each other. Its like a right and a left hand we just fit, remarked Dr. Cook, and he says of Dr. Garner, I love his easy-going, friendly chairside manner. Its so good to be able to sit down with him and consult on a complicated case and enjoy his experience and gentle approach.
