Dr. DePorter believes in providing ethical and exceptional dental care, while utilizing the latest in dental technology for your ease and comfort. He prides himself on helping you understand all of your options, so you can confidently make informed treatment decisions.
Dr. Austin DePorter graduated from Southern Illinois Universitys School of Dental Medicine, and is an active member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Larimer County Dental Society, and Weld Country Dental Society. Before attending dental school, he earned his undergraduate Bachelors degree in Biology from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. After practicing dentistry in Moline, IL, for several years, he moved to Colorado with his wife, Laura, in the spring of 2016.
Dr. Laya prides herself on providing ethical, gentle, and compassionate dentistry to each of her patients. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Metro Denver Dental Society. Dr. Laya earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the New York University College of Dentistry, and completed a General Practice Residency at New York Presbyterian Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. She earned her undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. When Dr. Laya isn't helping patients with their oral health, she loves the arts and adventuring outdoors with her family!
Laura is passionate about helping patients positively transform their relationships with dentistry through compassionate, kind, and gentle experiences. She also loves providing a wonderful and caring workplace for the talented professionals on our team. With an extensive background in dental technology, she understands the importance of modern advancements and their impact on your dental experience. Laura serves as a director on the Berthoud Chamber of Commerce Board and enjoys being active in community service. In her free time, she loves yoga, concerts, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two doggies!
Courtney shines when it comes to providing patients with a wonderful, professional experience. Her attention to detail and commitment to each patient is one of the aspects that make our practice so incredible. Outside of the office, Courtney and her husband Jeremy love spending time with their two furbabies.
Meet our Insurance Coordinator, Jenny! Despite Jenny's sugar-sweet and calm demeanor, she has earned the nickname 'insurance ninja' in our office! She works swiftly and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to confirming and maximizing your hard earned insurance benefits. When she's not in the office, Jenny is an avid hockey fan and loves spending time with her dog, Buddy!
Kelly is a positive and kind spirit focused on providing gentle dental care to every patient. Her intelligence, kindness, and gentle demeanor has been instrumental in shaping our practice since we opened our doors in September 2018. She graduated Utah State University with an Applied Science degree, and was awarded for her excellence when she earned her Dental Hygiene degree from Colorado Northwestern Community College. When Kelly isnt in the office working to make our community healthier, she loves being active outdoors with her husband, Ben, and their two dogs.
Ashley is a Texas native who is enthusiastic about providing excellent oral hygiene care to each of her patients. She earned her Associates of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Howard College, and enjoys keeping her education sharp with the latest trends in dentistry. In her free time, Ashley loves enjoying college football, reading, movies, and outdoor sports.
Ashley's talents for making our team and patients smile is second to none. Her gentle and kind chairside manner impresses patients day in and day out. She earned her undergrad degree at Indiana University before completing the hygiene program at Johnson County Community College. She is a die-hard KS Chiefs fan, and loves speaking time with her husband Matt and their three dogs, Hoosier, Eleven, and Goose.
Erika is an incredibly kind and talented dental professional focused on ensuring you have a wonderful experience in our office. She earned her bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences and Chemistry from UNC Greeley before gaining her dental assisting certificate from the American School of Dental Assisting. She is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and happy in the dental chair. Outside of the office, Erika loves staying active with skiing, paddle boarding, hiking, being with her family, and caring for her several beautiful doggies! Erika is bilingual with English and Spanish.
Melissa is an Oregon-native who loves providing patients with a comfortable and gentle approach to dental health. She enjoys helping even the most anxious dental patients enjoy their visit. Outside of the office, Melissa loves hiking and fishing with her family!

Dr. DePorter and the entire Mountain Ridge team are fantastic! They provide thorough, high quality care and are also kind and happy to answer any questions you might have. They go the extra mile to make sure their patients are comfortable. Definitely recommend!

Worst experience ever at a dentist! If you have anxiety over going to a dentist and/or have borderline high blood pressure DO NOT GO HERE! Went twice. First time they took my blood pressure (what dentist takes your blood pressure??) and it was high. They went on to do my exam and take X-rays but refused to clean my teeth until my blood pressure came down. Had to reschedule for 2 weeks later. Came back in and blood pressure is still high so they refused to clean my teeth again! What they don't seem to understand is if you have anxiety about going to the dentist your blood pressure is always going to be high! EDITED TO ADD My blood pressure has always been borderline high and in the 30+ years I've been going to get my teeth cleaned I have NEVER had a practice REFUSE to clean my teeth because of it! Your practice of checking my blood pressure added to my anxiety about getting my teeth cleaned and caused my pressure to be high.

From the moment they picked the phone up to take in a new client this place was perfect. They are friendly, sincere, caring, and intelligent. The interior of the place is warm and welcoming. Calming for those that do not like going to the dentist...like me. Every one of them is good at their job and Dr. Laya was amazing. She took the time to explain everything to me and she did it without looking at her watch as if I am taking up her time. I feel blessed to have found this place.

If you live in Berthoud, or anywhere nearby, this should be your Dentist Office. Laura and Dr. DePorter go above and beyond in every aspect. They are very communicative, professional, and explain procedures more in-depth than any of my previous Dentists. They will give out referrals if you need outside opinions from a Periodontist or Endodontist. It's a nice clean remodeled office, they make you feel really comfortable, and give personalized care. After my appointment I received a token for a free beer at City Star!

Late March I cracked a tooth and new to the Berthoud area needed a new Dentist. Called and they were able to get me very quick. Ended up having to extract. Dr DePorter was explained everything great and kept me very calm. Even charged less than what I was quoted. Needless to say the adult treasure chest is fantastic! Going to the dentist is never fun, Mountain Ridge makes the best out of it.

Dr. Deporter and his entire staff are top notch, the best. Beautiful office but most importantly is the caring and kind treatment you are always given. They offer many options and are more thorough than any other office I've been to. I won't go anywhere else!

I changed to Mountain Ridge after many years with another dentist. I was very please with the whole process, exams, and treatment! The atmosphere was relaxed and professional. I will return!

I have been a patient with Mountain Ridge Dentistry for several years and am very sad to write this review. However to say that I am upset is an understatement. My insurance changed this year. When I looked up mountain ridge on Cigna's website it was not showing as in network but I decided to call the office & verify. I gave them all my plan information and was told Twice they were in network. At the office I paid $200 for a filling which I was told was my portion after insurance. Imagine my suprise when I get a second bill for $150 weeks later. When I look on my Cigna site it shows my claim was out of network and insurance paid nothing. I paid out of pocket for my whole visit. I called to ask what happened & I was told that I must have misunderstood and that they gave me in network rates but my plan is out of network. Now I'm stuck with a bill that I would have never had, had I not been lied to. My boyfriend has been going to Dr Rush in Fort Collins & always knows the exact amount he will owe before he even walks out the door and never has had any suprise bills. Looks like that's where I'll be going from now on.

New to Colorado, Mountain Ridge Dentistry was recommended to me. I was very impressed with everyone I dealt with, from reception all the way through to the Doctor. Everyone was so pleasant and made me feel very comfortable. They have state of the art equipment and really take their time to do a thorough check up. At the end all is explained with choices given. I would recommend Mountain Ridge to anyone looking for a dentist.

Just had my bi-annual dental appointment at Mountain Ridge Dentistry and it went very well. I met the new dentist, Dr Laya, who was wonderful. The hygientists are so nice and thorough! No cavities for me!!

This place is awesome! Everyone is so friendly! The staff wanted to make sure I was comfortable in every way. Dentist was thorough and spoke openly about concern spots (which I appreciate!). Dental hygienist was great! And as I was leaving the receptionist gave me a goody bag with more than what I was expecting. I highly recommend them!

I felt very comfortable and everyone was friendly. I was greeted with a smile from Laura. Dr. DePorter was kind, gentle, and very informative about my dental history and xrays. Cleaning tech was also very thorough, gentle, and put me at ease. Cleanliness was also a top priority as well as patient care! I highly recommend them!

This dentist office has the kindest people. I had to reschedule my family's visits twice and they were more than understanding. They also explained billing to me in a respectful way. The cleanings and exams were professional and easy to get through!!
