Modern dental implants consist of three separate parts; a titanium insert, abutment and the dental crown. The titanium insert is a tiny screw thats installed in your gums and fused to your jaw bone. Titanium is an earth metal that naturally bonds with your mouths bones, especially the bones of the jaw. Titanium helps kick start a process called osseointegration, a progression that helps to fuse the screw and bone together. This also helps support the bone and keep the structure of the jaw intact.

The final part of the dental implant trifecta is the faux tooth, otherwise known as the crown. The crown is most commonly made from porcelain or another type of ceramic material. The reason for using a substance of this nature is its resistance to stains and its close resemblance of a human tooth.

Dr. Gregg Codelli was born in Pittsburgh, PA, yet shortly thereafter his family moved to Germany, then Switzerland and finally Belgium before arriving in Atlanta for his last year of high school. He attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA. After earning his DDS degree at the University of Tennessee in Memphis he completed his specialty training in Periodontics at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Codelli moved back to Atlanta in 1988 to enter into private practice. He has completed advanced training in both surgical and restorative dental implant treatment at the Medical College of Georgia/American Academy of Implant Dentistry implant MaxiCourse (1992) as well as the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute (1995).

As a dedicated husband and father of two, Dr. Codelli has many interests outside of periodontics and dental implantology. He is an accomplished classical pianist and organist (playing at St. Peters Basilica in Rome, Italy, just recently); he continues to be actively involved with music at his church directing the choir. His wife Natalie is also a gifted musician. They both enjoy snow skiing and travel the latter especially to keep up their language proficiencies (French and German for Dr. Codelli and Italian for Natalie).

Although the staff is friendly, my total experience was grim. I had my top front four teeth replaced with a semi permanent denture fifteen years ago. It was loose and about to fall out. I went to this facility for a permanent solution. I was giving three choices. All of my top teeth removed with a "poly grip" denture. implants with a click in denture and implants with teeth. I chose the middle one because I felt it suited me best and the expense. It was over $19000. My drive to their office was about an hour and a half each way. Appointment after appointment after appointment for almost a year. It was grueling. Two sets of temporary dentures, two infections, lots of discomfort at their off and at home. The second denture cracked and is stuck to an implant. I did not want to pull on it too hard fearing it would break and damage my gum and bone so I gargled to clean the backside until I received my permanent denture. I thought today was the day. I was given an appointment card with today's date only to find out there was a mistake that my appointment was in November even though I told them more then once I was leaving the first of November. This morning I was told that they do not offer the final the denture that I would have to go someplace else for that. $19000 later and all I have is all of my top teeth gone and a denture that is cracked and stuck in my mouth. I walked out depressed and sad that what I paid for was not delivered. They will reply with their rebuttal but I review everyone fairly. This can be seen in my other reviews.

After decades of frequent dental work I decided to just go ahead and get implants. Dr. Codelli and his coworker's are truly amazing at their jobs. I've been to 12 dentists so far and this practice is the only one that actually cares about the patients that I have seen. The staff are super friendly and just all around good people! Also, it's impressive how much Dr. Codelli has invested into technology and all the latest and greatest. Blows my mind how out of date past dentists have been. I absolutely recommend this doctor!

I have always been fearful of the dentist too many bad experiences. After meeting the staff and doctor I was at ease. A procedure to graft gum tissue from different parts of my mouth to replace where my gums where receding sounded painful and extensive. However I was put at ease by the doctor and his staff. I was not anxious at all. The procedure lasted I believe start to finish was 4 hours. There was no real pain but only mild discomfort. I only took one pain pill to help me sleep and that was it. I highly highly recommend this periodontics office, their staff and doctor were wonderful!

I am so totally pleased with my surgery with Dr. Codelli. It started with my phone call to Crystal who understand that I needed to have this soon. She called me not once but twice with cancellations. I was able to make the second. Crystal was awesome in getting everything lined up. I arrived on surgery day and was treated so warmly yet professionally. This included Dr. Codelli's assistant and nurse anesthetist. And of course Dr. Corelli. Two teeth removed and a bone graft. Woke up and was comforted and taken to a nice warm recovery room. For someone that is a bit phobic about tooth removal this was a dream. I can't thank everyone enough. And care was also given to my prescriptions for aftercare! Please don't hesitate to visit Mountain Periodontics and Implant Dentistry! You will be so very delighted with their amazing care!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PERSON!! They lure you in and give false promises. their story changed every visit until I walked out the day of surgery due to yet another change. When they ask for a $3000 deposit for the $60,000 I went ahead and paid the limit on my daily limit of $20,000. even tho they said don't worry about it, we will give you a refund they kept more than the $3000 deposit and kept $13,000 of the $20,000 that I gave in good faith of what their paperwork stated that I was paying for teeth in a day and that I had the right bone density. They went from 5% chance to 50% chance to the day of surgery 100% chance of walking out with dentures at least on top- NOT implants. They had change vendors and told me that was the reason of the advertising being incorrect but they never gave me my money back only a fraction of what I gave them. I'll update you later on if they do the right thing and pay the $20K- the requested $3000 deposit which is the ONLY fair amount for them to charge me. Be warned of this surgeon & this facility. I have since had my teeth done (in a day I walked out with both implants in) and I could not be more thankful for the people in Buckhead and their price includes the final teeth!!!

Dr Codelli took the time to explain the full process he would take me through and put my mind at ease which is no small feat because I have a phobia about dental work. I would highly recommend his practice to anyone.

Dr. Codelli and his staff are professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and fun - yes, I said fun. I began the process of having two implants this week. I was scared and dreading it. I felt good from the beginning because the facility is spotless and there is amazing technology. Secondly, they make you feel like they've known you all their lives and are really happy to see you. I was very comfortable being there. Most of the staff has worked with Dr. Codelli for years and you can tell they like each other, like him, and like their jobs. Both the staff and Dr. Codelli are straightforward and helpful. Dr. Codelli explained everything to me and even drew pictures so he was sure I'd understand what he was explaining to me. He kind of laid out a long term plan about what I could do to improve the overall health of my mouth, then addressed the problem I had specifically. He surgically removed two roots and installed the base for implants. I was in a sedated condition and felt no pain, discomfort or anything. When it was over they covered me with blankets and put a heater next to me because I "woke up" freezing. Their care was superb. I would recommend this practice and Dr. Codelli to anyone looking for excellent perio and implant services (and actually, already have).

Dr Codelli has implanted 5 teeth over the past several years. Although it was a long process, about 6 months, I am very satisfied with the results. He and his staff are excellent!

The whole experience was very good. Everyone there is professional and pleasant. The facilities are modern and impeccable. I would suggest that you listen carefully when they call to confirm your appointment as many times they have slightly changed the time they originally scheduled you.
