Dr. Carol Soufanati is a native of New Jersey, where she excelled in her academic and practical career at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, receiving her Doctor of Medicine and Dentistry Degree (D.M.D.) with high honors. Immediately following graduation, Dr. Soufanati accepted ahighly sought after position in the General Practice Residency (GPR) Program at HackensackUMC Mountainside Hospital, Montclair NJ. Via this program she continued to rapidly hone and perfect her natural ability to perform all aspects of dentistry.Her efficiency to perform quality dentistry, while displaying compassion and concern for the well-being of patients, garnered the attention of the Program Director and earned her an invitation to join the faculty staff at the conclusion of her residency. She has proudly held the position of Supervising Dentist for the past several years, and feels deeply honored to have the opportunity to give back to the program that bestowed so much on her, and the profession she loves so dearly.
Dr. Soufanatis philosophy when it came to choosing her profession could be summed up in one of her most favorite quotes, Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.This is her approach to dentistry, never working as a Dentist, but rather having the privilege to serve the community as a trusted member. Her love for the science, artistry, sophisticated technology, and most of all those patients that entrust her with such an important characteristic of themselves, are the elements that come together to make for a quality-oriented Dentist with a passion for improving oral health and aesthetics.
Dr. Soufanati is continuously engaged in the latest treatment and technology via continued education seminars throughout the year, staying on the cutting edge of dental implant restorative techniques.

At Mountain Lakes Premier Dental, we do not believe finances should prevent you from receiving the dental care you require. With that being said, we also understand economic situations are widely varied, and we are committed to working with you to make your dental care affordable.
It important to note their is a great difference between dental insurance plans and medical insurance plans. Dental benefits are not determined by the insurance company, but rather the plan your employer negotiates with the insurance company. Your employer determines the benefit level offered to their employees.
Our office will provide you with an estimate of your patient portion (copay) that is expected at the time of service, and we will submit insurance claims on your behalf. On average it takes 3-6 weeks to receive payment. Your insurance company typically provides you an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) detailing how the claim was processed. Note that in some cases the insurance company may not pay anything based on provisions in your contract. Once we have received payment from your insurance company we will provide you with a statement summarizing any remaining balance you may be responsible for. In the event your insurance company denies payment for any reason, you will be responsible for all charges incurred for your care.
If you have any questions regarding your insurance policy, you may consult your insurance carrier or employer. We would also be happy to look into your policy and help you better understand your benefits.

I was a patient at this office when it was under Dr Baragona for years, Dr Soufanati has continued the quality care I got used to during that time. Unfortunately, there can be some dentists who always try to "push" some kind of sale to you while you're sitting in the chair. Dr Soufanati doesn't do that. Along with giving the office a nice remodel she brings a level of integrity and class I have rarely found in the field. Along with that I've never been disappointed in any of her hygienists. Highly recommend!

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is by far the best office and staff I have ever been to. I have followed Dr. Carol since she was in Springfield in 2013. I literally travel an hour just for her. I will never see another dentist ever again. Everyone is friendly and they actually care about there patients. We have always been treated like family here. If you don't go to them then your not getting the best care.

Hands down, this is the only dentist I will ever go to again. Dr. Soufanati and her staff are the best! They take Covid precautions very seriously and made me feel safe and comfortable. Dr. Soufanati took her time to review my x-rays with me and gave me all of my options. She truly has the patient's best interest in mind and will make sure your visit is pain free. I actually enjoy going to the dentist and even more rewarding is that my kids loving going there too!

Amazing experience at this office. The staff is friendly and even with COVID, still gave their smiles through a masks. They helped me feel comfortable from beginning to end of my appointment. Dr. Soufanati took her time to go over my treatment and options during my exam. And when it came to treatment, I didn't feel a thing. She is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. Definitely recommend them!

Unprofessional experience. Talked about a terrifying dental story to her assistant about some dentist that drilled through a patients cheek JUST before she was about to drill into my own tooth, acting like I didn't exist. Was chatting about some party that weekend they were going to while waiting for me to be numb. I've just never experienced anything like that before...unprofessional. That was the first time I had met her too. I had been a long time patient to the dentist who retired. She told my husband he had 12 cavities. Went and got a second opinion, he had only 3. She told my sister she needed a root canal, she got a 2nd opinion and she didn't even need a filling.

I swear, I have never met a doctor who cares more about her patients. I had a crown made and she would not insert it until it was perfect. She cared that I would eventually have to replace it and instead had it re made for me. I really appreciate the time the staff took to go over my options with me as well. Best place to go !!!!
