The staff was great. But my dentist not. My dentist extracted my top teeth and I had to get dentures. And I had to beget my mouth moded for them it started in January, I waited and waited. I aqua been using my temporary dentures until the gave me my original ones snd I might have let my grandchild do it, they don't even fit plus there like a brick in my mouth. They don't look normal too have paid all that money for, they just took my money I'm looking for my refund and haven't heard any thing yet.

It was my first visit and probably my last. I was taken back for X-rays and I witnessed the assistant open a sterile package and plop it on to the counter she also put the clean sleeves that were to cover parts of the X-ray on the counter top. No counter liners or anything. She proceeded to try and put them in my mouth I kindly asked her if I could get a new liner because she put it on the counter and I was concerned of when that computer work station was last sanitized. She replied "Oh you are sensitive aren't you?" I replied with no, I am concerned about the cleanliness of something being put in my mouth when it was placed in a high touch area. I also work in the healthcare field and it isn't best practice to open clean supplies on a dirty surface. She just kept saying I was sensitive and she left the room I could hear her talking about me to another tech and asked someone to take over for her. I heard the other tech refuse but eventually gave in. The new tech came in with some paper towels and placed them underneath the tools being used on me. I don't think this is a big request to ask and this particular tech tried to make me feel like I was over the top. She didn't even try to reassure me that the counter was clean. It would make sense to me as a healthcare worker to use a counter liner or even if they opened the package all the way and used the inside as the liner. I was very disappointed in the level of care I received and am this assistant made be concerned about their standards of practice.

Do not be deceived by the good reviews. I had the most residual pain from having a filling filled that I've never experienced from any other practitioner. In addition their billing practices are questionable. I am currently trying to clear up bogus charges for visits that never took place. Beware.

Great first experience at this practice. Really liked Dr. Trehan, who is young-ish and personable. He made me feel confident in the issues he identified. No one in the office was pushy about selling me things, but still identified options and costs. I've been to a lot of dentists in the DC area that make me feel like they are just trying to sell me whitening treatments or braces, but at this office I felt like the concern was with my health and oral hygiene. Would recommend.

If I could give ZERO Stars I would in fact I tried but it didn't allow me to post as such. I've given this establishment numerous attempts to try to do better. They Over Charge like I'm ok with being Smashed. Nope ! I'm never going to allow them anymore to touch me or overcharged me. I'm out!

Very professional staff. Explained all charges effectively. However, I did not get my teeth cleaned and I would have appreciated having it done. I understand it is probably insurance requirements. I will be back at a later time.

I had an old filling partially chip and they recommended a crown to replace it and said it would cost $900. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and they said they just had to re-fill the old filling and a crown was not necessary. This procedure only cost $80. Highly recommend getting a second opinion for some of these procedures as it appears this dentist was just trying to get money out of me.

July 2021 My experience I'm was having a tooth checked that bothered me because...when I accidentally bite on something hard in the rite way it caused pain and surprise. I'm New to area and regular cleaning etc kind of person. I'm religious with my teeth. Dentist checks the culprit tooth By tapping on the cheek side of said tooth. Taps again doesn't hurt. He keeps doing this over and over again each time with more force. Each time saying does this hurt does this bother you Total of about 5 times because I kept saying no. I Never said yes. Now recommend for a crown. My bite was never tested. Remember biting is when I felt pain I have 30 years experience in the dental field. I was in shock. Employee Bonuses are based on crowns sold to patients Mean while I found a dentist with Ethic's Check my bite My bite was adjusted. Took five minutes No Crown needed I reported this experience to my hygienist in the front desk girls at the time. Everyone there is very friendly and the dental hygienist did an awesome job.

I can't even sugarcoat it, Mount Vernon Modern Dentistry is absolute trash. I wouldn't recommend this place to my ex mother-in-law and I really couldn't stand my ex mother-in-law. But, staying the course to my 2022 new year's resolution, I'm choosing to view my negative experiences through a positive lens. I have learned the valuable lesson to always visit a dentist's review page before choosing their business. Believe what you read people. Expect to be there for 2+ hours for a simple routine cleaning. Expect the likelihood that your appointment could be cancelled to no fault of your own. Expect the possibility of shoddy dental work due to their inexperienced staff. Expect the staff to be unprofessional, unorganized, incompetent and rude. Expect to be overdiagnosed so they can squeeze as much revenue out of your pockets and your insurance. Overall, you can expect piss poor service while being a patient at Mount Vernon Modern Dentistry. Do yourself a huge favor and go elsewhere.

How much can you really like a dentist, right? But the reason I removed a star was because their website indicated that while not open on weekends, there are dentists on call for emergencies. Well...not so much. One of the very first things the receptionist said after I told her my emergency on Sunday was that a dentist was not working that day. Thankfully, I wasn't in pain so I resigned myself to taking the Monday appointment. And another star was deducted because they are NEVER on schedule. Right now, it's 15 minutes past my appointment time and I'm still waiting to be called. And now 20 minutes past my appointment.... 25 minutes.... 30 minutes.... And at 32 minutes, I was finally called.

I do not recommend Modern Dentistry Alexandria VA. Run. Fast. Absolutely poor communication. They rescheduled me a day before my scheduled appointment, TWICE. This office tried to over charge me $200 for composite fill ins and as I knew this was incorrect (I verified benefits with my insurance before coming in) I asked for a pre authorization/pre-estimate of services that was suppose to be submitted January 27, 2022. It is now April 18th, 2022 and I called in inquiring the status of the pre-auth and the front desk told me the pre-auth WAS NEVER SUBMITTED! Back in January I spoke to AJay (some type of "manager") and she tried to deter me from submitting the pre-auth by saying it could take up to 2 months! I stood firm on requesting the pre-auth just to find out it was never submitted! AJay then said "all I can offer you is an apology" I don't even want that because you are very sorry. This is beyond poor service and if that's how your practice is ran, by trying to exploit customers, I want no parts! You're better going elsewhere and getting quality service rather than these people being shady to you and overcharging.

I have been to this dentist office for a year; unfortunately, I have to write a review and I would never come back here anymore. Some examples about my unpleasant experiences are: first of all, they did not update my MyChart information so I wasn't able to fill it out before my appointment. I had to wait for them to fix the information in front of me and that made my wait time extra longer. My second bad experience was that they canceled my appointment two days before due to their office being closed. I had to call back couple of times to reschedule my appointment, but customer service said that the office was not closed. I was not able to get my appointment rescheduled, so I tried calling them again the next day. Another lady from the customer service was able to schedule my appointment though. When I finally get to my appointment, I had to wait an hour and more to see the doctor. I am really disappointed and I would not recommend this place.

I came three times in this office every time they take x-ray 10 times stating they didn't get the right one and had to do it all over again. The wait time just to be seen is 30 min to an hour if you are lucky. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Had a very good experience with Mount Vernon Modern Dentistry and Dr Trehan. Everyone--doctor, hygienist, and other staff--were all really nice and courteous. There was no judgement that I hadn't been to a dentist in several years and they good care provided good care. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 was the wait time. I had to wait about 20 mins for my appt; which was not too bad, and then way 20+ mins a couple of times during the appoint, waiting for the dr or the hygienist to come back during transitions in the appointment. Overall a check up and deep cleaning took nearly 3 hours.

I had my first visit last week and I was completely blown away. The team overall was amazing. Each person I interacted gave wonderful customer service not only to me but to each other. They al seemed to enjoy their job. The doctor was very informative and knocked out all of my concerns in one big sweep. She made everything so effortless. Most people hate going to the dentist but the team offered such a memorable experience that i look forward to my next visit. I highly recommend this practice. Hands down.

It seems like they have some decent dentists, but they cannot seem to get their act together for scheduling. Very poor organization. They mess and up and will cancel appointments on you with very little notice, once you even manage to get an appointment since half the time they say they cannot access the schedule and will contact you later...which they do not do. Try to call them and expect to wait on hold for 20 minutes+. At this time I definitely cannot recommend this dentist and will be looking for another option next time I need dental work.

The staff unexpectedly had me for almost the entire day. I went in for a routine clean but needed a crown for repairing a old filling my previous dentist installed. Dr. Patel was excellent in her details and even reworked the initial crown. I stayed way pass my time but the staff from the front of the office to several dental assistants pitched in to make my experience even better. They took their time, explained the procedures, insurance benefits and even ensured my fiance and I are all set for our future appointments. We will be seeing them in a few weeks. Easily could have made me apart of the office today for the length I was there but I'm very pleased with my crown and treatment plan. Dental health is worth the wait & money. Thank you all for allowing my extra lengthy procedure and to spend a Friday with you all.

The staff here is very friendly and professional. Dr. Patel did a very thorough job cleaning my teeth and asking me if I had an questions. The office is clean and neat. I had an overall great experience here.

Received a call today to reschedule my entire families appointments (4) that we made months ago. I have scheduled to be off of work early and made arrangements to ensure we would all be on time. I chose to be seen at 4pm so we can avoid my daughter being out of school early and missing work. As I am writing this review, I am currently pregnant and wanted to have this completed prior to my delivery next month when we will be adding a newborn to our organized chaos. The staff was not accommodating and wanted to split the appointments up by date and/or time. I was willing to reschedule but wanted to keep us altogether! (Which we have done in the past) But they only wanted to make this reschedule convenient for themselves. We actually drive over 30 minutes just to come to the dental office because I have liked the service provided. The staff who called told me to call back to schedule since we couldn't find an evening that would work for my family today. I think it is safe to say that they have lost 4 customers. Pretty frustrating!
