Dr. Moss earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee and his dental degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. He completed a general practice residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he learned advanced treatment techniques in all areas of general dentistry.
Since opening a private dental practice, Dr. Moss has taken numerous postgraduate education courses, specifically selecting courses focusing on cosmetic dentistry. This training allows him to provide his patients with smile enhancement options such as crowns, veneers, and aesthetic white fillings.
Dr. Moss' commitment to lifelong education means he is constantly evaluating emerging dental methods and technologies in order to provide his patients with the best results in the least invasive manner with a high emphasis on comfort. This commitment ensures the highest level of care, both today and tomorrow.
Dr. Moss is an active participant in the community, volunteering at Interfaith Clinic and fostering rescue dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, hiking, and following UT sports. Dr. Moss' wife, Andrea, is also a dentist. Together, they have one dog and two cats.
Dr. Moss was presented with the Volunteer Service Award for his community service with the Interfaith Dental Clinic. As the dentist with the most continuing education hours in a year, he also received the 2015 Tennessee Dental Association Continuing Education Award.
Debbie has been managing the front desk of the practice for 14 years. She is originally from Michigan and relocated to Tennessee in 1992. She is married with two sons and two grandsons. She loves interacting with patients in person and over the phone. Outside of work she enjoys walking her Doberman, shopping, reading, and spending time with her family.
Margaret has been a hygienist with the practice for 24 years. She started working in dentistry in high school and soon earned her degree from ETSU. She is an active member of Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church and also enjoys baking, woodworking, and music. She is married with two children and also has a dog named Charlie.
Sharon has been a hygienist with the practice for 21 years. She earned her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Chattanooga State Community College before moving to the area. She loves all animals, especially dogs, and has a great time discussing pets with her patients. In addition to caring for her patients' oral hygiene, she is a fan of SEC football and photography.
Diane has been a dental assistant for over 20 years and joined Moss Family Dentistry in 2014. She enjoys helping people feel better by fixing their teeth and improving their smiles. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her grandson.

Dr. Moss is great! I had a crown come loose. I called his office and they were closed for the 4th of July Holiday Weekend. I called his personal number and on his day off he met me at his office and reattached the crown. It wasn't even a crown he had put on. Amazing dedication and genuinely nice man I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Moss.

Best dentist I have been to! They fixed my teeth with minimum pain, no bruising. I was so nervous to go to this new dentist due to previous bad experiences with other doctors. But, Dr. Moss completely shocked me. There was no need to be so nervous. They did a fabulous job and so considerate. Thank you! Definitely would recommend!

Dr Miss and his staff are very helpful and so kind. My first visit was scary and they made my vist and treatment easy it was truly top notch. Dr Moss was very informative and shared all information with treatment options and any health concerns.

I highly recommend Moss Family Dentistry! I was always afraid to go to the dentist because it was never a comforting experience for me as I had a lot of cavities growing up. This place has changed my whole perspective on going to the dentist now as a young adult. I was recommended to come here from a friend from work and he definitely recommended the best. Sharon is wonderful, fun to talk to and very helpful on tips to keep up with maintaining healthy gums and teeth. She does an amazing job with the cleaning. And Dr. Whittaker, the dentist, is extremely careful, gentle and is very nice and remembers me, where I work and all that personal stuff alot of people may just forget about. For the rest of my time living in Tennessee this will be my go to dentistry! Even the woman at the counter remembers me and my fiance when we come is and is so welcoming. Thanks Moss Dentistry! Your staff is amazing!

Dr. Moss recently did two fillings on my back teeth. He was so gentle. The best part was that I didn't even feel the shot. I also really appreciate how honest he was. I really thought a third tooth would need a feeling but he assured me that is was just fine. I love this dentist and I am going to start taking my daughter to him too.

I was vacationing in Townsend and had a dental emergency. Dr. Moss was able to see me the very morning I called. Dr. Moss and the entire staff at Moss Family Dentistry were very professional and caring. I had to contact Dr. Moss after hours and he returned my call within minutes of my leaving the message. Although Dr. Moss was unable to fix my issue, he was able to get me some relief until I could see the oral surgeon. I highly recommend Moss Family Dentistry to locals and visitors alike. If I lived in Maryville, he would definitely be my dentist.
