Dr. Moshiri is a graduate of the School of Dental Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. He holds a Masters degree in orthodontics from Northwestern University, one of the nations most respected academic institutions.

In addition, he was a clinical professor and orthodontic consultant for the orthognathic surgery program at the University of Louisville in Kentucky for 28 years, which recognized his skill as an educator with the Presidents Distinguished Faculty Award.

During the course of his 30-year clinical practice, Dr. Moshiri has published many scientific articles on a variety of subjects, including developmental care and growth guidance, orthodontics, orthognathic surgery, and FMJ disorder

Relative to his special interestand expertisein treating children and adults with TMJ disorders and craniofacial abnormalities, Dr. Moshiri is a former executive director of the Greater St. Louis Craniomandibular Society.

He is also a former president and longtime member of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society (GSLDS). He has served on, and chaired, many of the Dental Societys committees and has been actively involved in many of its community outreach initiativescontributions which were acknowledged with the organizations Award of Merit.

He is certified by the American Board of Orthodontists, the professions highest level of attainment. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the World Federation of Orthodontics.

To maintain a cutting-edge approach to the specialty of orthodontics, Dr. Moshiri travels extensively, keeping abreast of innovations in treatment and technology. He has been a frequent guest speaker to dental and orthodontic groups in the United States and abroad.

After graduating from MICDS in 1998, Dr. Maz enrolled in Emory University where he received his B.S. degree in Neurobehavioral Biology. He then moved on to the University of Louisville to obtain his Doctorate, Masters in Oral Biology, and Certificate of Advanced Training in Orthodontics.

In no time, Dr. Maz attained Diplomate status with the American Board of Orthodontics and became a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Currently, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the orthodontic residency program at the Center for Advanced Dental Education at Saint Louis University. He manages the clear aligner curriculum and provides lectures on Invisalign.

Dr. Shuka Moshiris philosophy is simple: life is better when you smile. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, she went on to pursue her doctorate degree at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. While in dental school, she won the American Association of Oral Biologists Award for her work in cleft palate research. She also received the Humana Foundation Scholarship, which is awarded to a student who exemplifies excellence in leadership.

She was heavily involved in community service and traveled with University of Louisvilles International Service Learning Program to the Philippines, providing free dental treatment for children without access to care.

After dental school, she completed an advanced year of training in the General Practice Residency program at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. She practiced general dentistry for one year before continuing her education at Saint Louis University, where she earned her certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry degree. Her thesis, pertaining to clear aligner treatment, was published in the Dental Press Journal of Orthodontics.

Dental assistants in Missouri are required by law to get an Expanded Functions permit in order to perform many tasks required at an orthodontic practice. In reality, many never do. They go straight from dental assistant school to full-time work without further training or certification. At Moshiri Orthodontics, we require all of our staff to become Expanded Functions orthodontic assistants before they start.

Their education doesnt end once theyre in the door, either. We make sure our staff hone their skills constantly, always keeping up with the latest standards and best practices. We never leave room for them to grow stagnant or complacent. Every year, we send them to the Regional Dental Society meeting, where they renew their education and learn new techniques for patient care. Not only do our staff rise to the challenge, they thrive because of it. They dont leave us after five years to move on to some other job. They tend to stick around. Many of our staff have been with us a decade or longer. Several have even stayed for more than 25 years. You wont find many orthodontic practices with assistants who want to make it their home for a whole career.

Even our retired staff still drop by to pay us visits. That doesnt happen without some very special connections. We do all we can to foster those connections. Every year, we hold four team-building events, taking time out of the office to foster healthy, organic bonds. We share plenty of priceless memories, and were only going to make more.

Apart from scheduling, JoAnn works with insurance companies on your behalf. She is often the first person at our practice that patients talk to. Ever the optimist, JoAnn is a glass half full kind of person who loves the positive atmosphere at Moshiris. She is a mom to two amazing kiddos Izzy and Henry.

Dana has been with us for 7+ years and says that her work with patients and their parents is the most gratifying part of her job. She loves working here and considers her team The Best. Dana is a fan of Seinfeld, Friends and Prince and is mom to three wonderful boys.

Deanna is our Financial Manager, and has over 20 years in Orthodontics. She loves the Patient-Centric culture here. She appreciates that the doctors encourage suggestions from the staff. Deanna is happily married to her high school sweetheart and is mom to two daughters.

Angie has been in Orthodontics for 30+ years, and became a Scheduling Coordinator when she joined us. She enjoys watching baseball and loves days at the beach. Angie values the sense of family and belonging that she experiences every day in our office.

Frances has 15+ years in Orthodontics, first as an Expanded Functions Assistant, and later as Treatment Coordinator. She says Drs. Moshiri look at each person as a whole, and addresses a patients airway as well as teeth so that they can have an improved quality of life. A wife and mom, she credits Yoga to helping her stay fit and happy.

Taren started as a Scheduling and Insurance Coordinator. She is now a Treatment Coordinator and loves being able to make a positive impact in patients lives. Her favorite part of the job are the people she works with. Taren has a green thumb and dabbles in hydroponic and aeroponic gardening.

Crystal started out in General Dentistry before finding her groove in Orthodontics. She loves working for such skilled doctors and with an incredible team. She is especially appreciative of the opportunities available to learn and expand her skills, while providing excellent care. Crystal is a book worm, always on the lookout for a great book.

Karen has worked in dentistry for over 18 years. She worked in General Dentistry for 10 years before joining our practice 8 years ago. She loves her team and enjoys her job as an Expanded Functions Assistant.

Legna works with patients when they first come in to take their x-rays, scans and, impressions. She knows the impact a smile and a positive outlook can make on a patient. Legna loves the friendly atmosphere at our practice and enjoys meeting new patients.

Shaina is mom to three boys and a girl. She started a career in Orthodontics over 15 years ago, but took a hiatus to raise her kids. Shes thrilled to work with such a warm and welcoming team of talented professionals. Fun fact, Shainas two besties from high school share her birthday!

Beth has been in the dental field for 38 years. She is also the Ordering Coordinator here at the practice, and appreciates the confidence the doctors have in her to make decisions. She works on special needs patients, and loves the support she gets from her co-workers. Beth is mom to two grown children and cant wait to meet her first grand baby.
