February has been designated Gum Disease Awareness Month! Initially launched by the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry, its purpose is to raise awareness about gum disease and encourage healthy dental habits to prevent it.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), gum disease, also referred to as periodontitis, is the result of infections and inflammation of the gums and bone that surround and support the teeth. In the early stages, the gums can become swollen and red, and they may bleed. As it progresses, the gums can pull away from the tooth, which can eventually result in bone and tooth loss. Not only does gum disease affect your mouth, it can affect your body as well. Regular check-ups and good oral hygiene are important to ensure everything is healthy.
Periodontal disease is mostly seen in adults, with 47.2% of those aged 30 years and older having some form of it. This risk only increases with age. On top of age, there are many other risk factors that can increase your chance of developing gum disease. One of the primary risk factors is smoking, followed by poor oral hygiene, diabetes, stress, hormonal changes and medications that cause dry mouth.
While gum disease starts in the mouth, when left untreated, it can start affecting many other parts of the body as well. This includes respiratory disease, rheumatoid arthritis, coronary artery disease and diabetes.

BEWARE- Made an appointment in June 2022. Next available for both of my children was October 27, 2022. Less than 24 hours before the appointment on 10/26/2022 they called and said they have a new Dentist and no longer accepts our insurance. No apology and still advertising to accept our insurance! Absolutely unbelievable and unprofessional.

I have major anxiety when I visit the dentist. I have to say that everyone at this office was amazing. The receptionist was very welcoming, Sarah did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth and my appointment with the dentist was great! Heather and Kaitlyn did an awesome job at assisting Dr. Sauk who kept me calm and informed through my whole appointment. The office was clean and very well managed. I will definitely continue to visit this office.

Spent almost $1100.00 on a Root canal. This place is horrible the way they talk to you. They forced me to pay first. Did a half a.. job. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I am reporting this place to BBB. Worse place ever.

Absolutely the best dental office around! Everyone in the office is very professional and friendly. I love it that they are upfront with you on a treatment plan and break down the cost so there are no surprise charges. Scheduling is fast and accommodating. They treat you with the same courtesy and professionalism with or without dental insurance. I highly recommend this office.

I went in to get a bottom plate 6wks ago. I still dont have it!!! I am beyond furious, their lab is out of state .If I hadn't paid for it I would of hone somewhere else. I don't recommend them very inept!!!! It will be 8 wks before I see my bottom plate

Ran into.problemsvwith a filled tooth. Got my new lower partial and it felt better after it was inserted. I used oragel and Aleve to try to stop irritation. I'll have to see in the next few days if this irritation goes away.

I had Lisa as my dental hygienist. She is always accommodating and sweet! She always makes me feel so o comfortable and explains everything she's going to do step by step! I've moved a lot throughout the years and have been to many dental practices but everytime I walk in the door here I feel like part of the family. I have been a business manager for over 20 years and I am so impressed by their customer service and etiquette there I would recommend them to anyone that wants upscale dentistry. Lisa again, is and was so professional and sweet. You can tell she's been in the field for a long time but still treats you as if you were her first patient. Love love love!!!
