Dr. Sorina Ratchfordearned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Loma Linda University, where she graduated at the top of her class in 2012. She then went on to pursue post-graduate training at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where she earned a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
Dr. Ratchfordis very involved in organized dentistry, serving as the president of the Central Coast Dental Society and also being a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Academy of General Dentistry, where she is working towards becoming a fellow.
When shes not at the office,Dr. Ratchfordenjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and snowboarding. Her husband Forest is a vital part of the office. They have a daughter, Ellis June and 3 boston terriers: Lily, Olive and JoJo.

Kara lives in Atascadero, CA near the beautiful town of Morro Bay. In her free time she enjoys listening to country music and going out with her boyfriend. She also likes to read fictional novels and lounge around the pool. While at Morro Bay Family Dentistry, Kara, strives to make your dental experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Taylor has been living on the Central Coast for nearly two decades enjoying the ocean views from her Grover Beach home. Currently a student working towards her business administration degree, Taylor spends most of her off time growing her successful local catering business, PourBoys Bartenders. Otherwise, catch her out and about hiking our beautiful Central Coast trails with her two adventure pups, Delilah and Sugar.
Taylors personal objective is to work in close relation with our patients, ensuring that they have had a great experience with our business as a whole. You can find her working hard in the front office, answering questions and phone calls alike. She loves working around people who truly care for other people, saying its great to have a team that feels like family, but its even better to see that patients are treated like family too.
Kathi has been a hygienist at this office for more than 25 years, staying with Dr. Ratchford after she acquired the practice. She graduated top of her class at Pasadena College Dental Hygiene Program, where she was the recipient of the California Hygiene Award of Clinical Excellence for her graduating class. She and her husband Tom, have lived on the Central Coast for more than 35 years, where they raised their two wonderful daughters together.
Donna has over 22 years of experience in clinical dental hygiene specializing in periodontal practices as well as 20 years in dental hygiene and dental education. She expanded her education background beyond her dental hygiene education at Pepperdine University where she earned a Master of Art in Educational Technologies and a Doctor of Education in Learning Technologies. The focus of Donnas research while in academia involved periodontal disease, academic integrity and the use of virtual reality (VR) in dental education.
After retiring from academia, Donna joined the team at Dr. Ratchfords office along with a local periodontist in San Luis Obispo. Donna remains closely tied to her profession through her professional affiliations with the American Dental Hygienists Association, California Dental Hygienists Association, Kern County Dental Hygienists Society, Western Society of Periodontology, and a local dental hygiene study club that focuses on different treatment modalities and aspects of implant care.
Donna strives for every patient to feel his/her needs are being addressed at the highest level of care possible. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, reading books, walking on the beach and yoga.
Monica is the youngest of 4 sisters. She was born and raised here on the Central Coast, in Los Osos. She has been working in the dental field for a few years already and loves every aspect of it. She strives to make her patients feel comfortable and at ease when they enter the dental office. Monica looks to continue to further her education in the dental field and to continue making a difference in every patients smile.

Dr. Ratchford is the best! She extracted a tooth and I hardly felt it. Even when she was numbing me up I didn't feel the shot. She did a great job.

Unfortunately I woke up quite ill this morning so I called to cancel my appointment. I was told they would charge me $100.00 for a missed appointment. I guess they would prefer that I come in sick, have my temperature taken then send me home. On my first appointment I was treated by a young lady who was not a part of their office staff, but who was interviewing with Dr. Ratchford. In other words I was a test patient. Funny, I didn't receive a discount for having an unpaid technician! Our family will find another dentist who puts patients before profits.

A great dentistry! Staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. Had two cleanings here now and every time they feel like pearls afterwards! During my check up Dr. Ratchford discovered the start of some cavities so she went through all the preventative measures to stop them from worsening and from getting new ones. Definitely recommend!

I'm from Tennessee and was visiting this area when I broke a crown. I was able to find Dr. Ratchford's office and they were kind enough to work me in for the repair and a new crown. The team was wonderful. They talked me through each process to let me know what to expect. Dr. Ratchford is very gentle and it was the first time that I didn't feel the needle for deadening. I was so pleased with the work and the team that made appointments for more work to be done when I was back in this area visiting. I would recommend Dr. Ratchford and her team to anyone looking for a family dentist.

Having a crown in my front tooth come off I contacted my dentist to see about recementing it only to find out she was on vacation and Dr Ratchford was covering for her. I called Dr. Ratchford's office to get and estimate and an appointment.I was quoted $170 for recementing the crown and $45 for an X-ray and exam by the office staff that answered the phone.So Ok . That's $210 to reattach the crown. That's about what my regular dentist charges. Well after completing the procedure I was given a bill for $322. Seems they didn't include the cost of the dentist's service. What the #&+/+# !. How could you not include that in your estimate? Seems Dentists are just like Doctors. You can't get an estimate you can rely on. They do what they have to do and then charge whatever they feel they need to charge. That's great if you have insurance but if you're retired living on a fixed income and have to pay cash...not so great. Now understand Dr. Ratchford is a lovely lady and her dentistry is excellent but the staff who work at the front desk,answer phones and give estimates are totally incompetent.

Best dentist I've ever been to! Dr.Ratchford and her assistance makes me feel so comfortable. I did have a lot of work to be done, and she has made going to the dentist very enjoyable! And I love seeing my hygienist!

Dr. Ratchford and her team are amazing from the front office staff, to the girls in the back who are so personable and accommodating throughout the whole visit. They offer warm scented towels after your appointment and they are still taking COVID-19 precautions very serious to keep patients safe. Dr. Ratchford's work is pristine and I am so happy to be a patient here. 10/10 recommend.

I hate the dentist! LOL but Dr Ratchford and the group of people that she works with are so nice. It's great to have them so close to home too. I don't give out 5 stars easily but if could she deserves a 6
