Having grown up in East Tennessee, Dr. Walt Stinson has a passion for the Lakeway Region. He received his bachelors degree from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee, and then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013 from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, where he was the recipient of the Southeast Academy of Prosthodontics Award for Clinical Excellence.
Following graduation, Dr. Walt opened Morristown Family Dentistry to provide care to patients of all ages. He has taken many hours of continuing education in all areas of dentistry and enjoys the variety of challenges a general practice provides. By evaluating emerging dental methods and technologies, Dr. Walt can provide the best level of care while maintaining an emphasis on patient comfort.
Dr. Walt and his wife, Laura, are lifelong residents of the Lakeway community and have two beautiful daughters they are raising on their beef cattle farm in Jefferson City. They are passionate about Christian community involvement, including their partnership at True Life Church in Jefferson City. Dr. Walt currently serves on the board of directors for First Love on Main, a free medical/dental clinic hosted by First Baptist Church of Morristown, as well as having served as a board member for Renovatus, a Christian community empowering people to be free from drug and alcohol addiction and restoring them to Christ-centered living.

Extremely clean office. Very knowledgeable dentist and staff ! Emily is awesome ! She cleans my teeth better than any other hygienist ever has! Dr. Walt really knows his stuff and actually convinced me to have a certain procedure done that a lot of other dentist tried to get me to do but failed at getting me to! I just trust them at Morristown Family Dentistry 100%! 10/10 Highly recommend this office to anyone that needs a good dentist office !

That man talked to me like I was dirt. The injection was painful and and i moaned a little. He threatened me that if I made any sound he would not work on me. He has no business speaking to a grown man that way.

I just had to come on here and give my honest opinion on the excellent customer service I got. The office was clean, the staff were accommodating, my appointment was on time on schedule. The office manager made sure that everything went smoothly, extremely friendly and made me feel so comfortable. Thank you so much and I cannot wait for my next visit for my cleaning.

Wonderful friendly staff. Dr. Walt is very thorough and explains everything with your dental care. Emily, who is the dental hygienist, is also the best. He and his staff are very professional and caring. Top notch. Highly recommend for all dental needs.

I had a wonderful experience having my teeth cleaned and examined. Emily, the hygienist, was very thorough and efficient. She took the time to explain what she was checking for as she cleaned my teeth. The office itself was very clean, tastefully decorated, and the staff was friendly. When I was filling out my paperwork in the reception area I overheard a patient bubbling over with joy about how happy she was with her dental work...that was definitely a positive first impression. Dr. Walt was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I was very happy with my exam and 100% would recommend this practice to family and friends.

I have been going to Walt Stinson at Morristown Family Dentistry for about five years. After years of avoiding the dentist, my teeth were in bad shape and needed lots of restoration. I first called his office in an emergency situation - a broken tooth. My own dentist could not see me for over a week. Walt was able to see me the next day. Walt gave me a complete exam and after removing the tooth, he laid out a comprehensive dental treatment plan. I won't lie, it was going to be expensive, but if I continued to neglect my teeth, I was going to loose more teeth. Walt worked with me to time-phase my dental treatments so I wasn't doing it all at once. He helped me purchase affordable dental insurance, and helped reduce costs. Now my teeth are much stronger and healthier than when I first showed up at his doorstep. His receptionist, hygienist and office manager are friendly and compensating to my needs and schedule and work me in in emergency situations. I trust Walt Stinson and am grateful for the excellent dental care he has provided me.

If I could give zero stars I would have. He is rude and uncaring. He refused to fix my cavity. Threw a fit when I cried because of having to have a tooth pulled. While crying he yelled at me I'm not doing anything for you, you can leave. He got upset at me for my son not having braces. Another dentist said my son doesn't need braces. His staff are also rude and say very hurtful things as they are cleaning your teeth. If you explain to them how hurtful their words are they all act like children throwing a temper tantrum. While getting teeth cleaning I told them they were hurting me. The reply I got from this was just laughter.

One of the best doctors I've been to in a very long time. I've had many problems for years, it was always scary and nerve wracking when I had to go to the dentist. Dr. Walt makes it a lot less frightening, and the staff is amazing, very friendly and kind. Overall I am happy, I recommend it.

I have never been to this dentist before, im reading all the comments and it sounds amazing! I just have one question. Does this place take Tenncare? I cant seem to find any dentist that will take new patients with Tenncare. Will somebody please tell me if they do? :) Thank you!
