Dr. Scott (as he is called in the office) grew up in Boise, graduating from Boise High School, the College of Idaho and the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He and his wife, Dr. Maribel, started their dental practice in 1989. Dr. Scott has served as past president of the Southwest Idaho Dental Association and served seven years as secretary treasurer of the Idaho State Dental Association, in addition to his work on dental peer review boards and various committees. A firm believer in constantly improving his skills and knowledge, Dr. Scott has studied with renowned dental educators such as Dr. Frank Spear, Dr. John Kois and Dr. Carl Misch, and he maintains membership in various professional dental organizations. When not working, he enjoys road and mountain biking, skiing, playing guitar with his old high school band, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Maribel grew up in Panama City, Panama, where she obtained her first dental degree at the Universidad de Panama Facultad de Odontologia, followed by a three-year residency in dental public service in underserved regions of Panama. She later obtained her second degree at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1989. She and her husband, Dr. Scott, started their dental practice in Boise in 1989. Dr. Maribel currently practices part-time and enjoys cycling, hot yoga, and spending time with friends and family, as well as being a highly accomplished cook and part-time culinary coach.
Taylor is our local office manager and vice president of operations at Kik Dental. She began her career with Kik Dental after graduating from CWI in 2015. She received her associate degree and has a background in dental assisting as well as administrative operations a position at which she excels. Taylors favorite thing about working in dentistry is the relationships she is able to cultivate with patients and serving them with blinding efficiency. Taylor was born and raised in Idaho, and in her free time, she enjoys reading books and spending time with her family.
Shayla is our lead dental assistant and director of hygiene operations. She is highly organized and manages all aspects of clinical operations. She graduated from Milan Institute in 2009, and her years of experience make her a favorite among our patients. Her favorite thing about working in dentistry is helping to put patients at ease, overcoming their dental anxiety and making their overall experience a great one! Shayla resides in Nampa with her husband and three children. In her time away from dentistry, she likes to host family barbeques and spend time with friends and family.
Rayna is a registered dental hygienist and supervises hygiene operations. Rayna graduated from Apollo College in 2007 and is passionate about helping patients understand the importance of good oral hygiene and its many impacts upon systemic health. Rayna resides in Boise with her husband and her son. In her time away from dentistry, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, Ruby and Ella, and riding her horse, Dex.
Kate is a registered dental hygienist, graduating from Apollo College in 2010 and joining our team in 2014. Her favorite thing about working in dentistry is patient education and providing a sensitive, compassionate approach to patient care. Kate is a Boise native and resides with her daughter, Jayde. Away from the office, Kate enjoys mountain biking, kayaking, camping, reading, and spending time with her family.
Logan is a registered dental hygienist and graduated from the hygiene school at Lane College in Eugene, Oregon. A native of Oregon, Logan fell in love with Idaho after a trip here and moved to Boise and joined our team in 2020. Logan loves forming great long-term relationships with her patients and working to provide excellent hygiene care. In her time away from dentistry, she enjoys backpacking, skiing and playing tennis.

I have lots of issues with my teeth/enamel which causes me to have to frequent the dentist. Dr. Morrell and Dr. Ziegler both have always taken the time to explain everything they are doing and make sure I am comfortable during each visit. At my most recent appointment I told Dr. Ziegler I was feeling a bit anxious about the appointment and he took the time to reassure me and talked with me until I felt comfortable. You can tell they truly care about you here and it shows. :) The staff is always so kind and friendly. I trust these guys so much and always feel so taken care of. Thank you all for all the work you do! Highly recommend!

My wife and I have been searching for a dentist that just felt right. After several unsuccessful attempts, we got a recommendation for Dr. Morrell. Now, after a couple of years going to him, we are satisfied that this is the right choice for us. His office staff is always reliable and friendly, giving us a first name hello when we arrive for each appointment. And they continue to work with our insurance very well. The hygenists and dental techs are equally friendly and efficient. Dr. Morrell is easy to talk to and explains his procedures and plans completely. His work is quite satisfactory and we experience relatively pain free dentistry both in the chair and afterwards. We are comfortable with his recommended treatments and feel we are in good hands.

I have always had great experiences at Morrell Dental. Their staff is courteous, knowledgeable and quite professional. The facilities themselves are equally pleasant and relaxing. Exuding an elite shine, the prices are very affordable. The procedures done by the Dentist and faculty set a high bar in workmanship and dependability that I wish were more standard in the medical world. Dr Scott Morrell has been one of the best dentists I've found that actually wants to take the time to help you achieve the dental health goals you may or may not even realize you need to prioritize. I have been on a long health journey, navigating through massive weight loss, auto-immune disease, and chronic health issues has been rough but the hard truth is that these conditions wreck havoc on one's teeth. Adding everyday stressors and high sugar intake (soda or coffee drinkers - I see you) is not going to help the overall situation but reality is that we all have our unhealthy habits we might need to dial back or cut completely. Most docs make you feel guilty about it, but not Dr Morrell. He is just honest with you. He will explain what's going on inside your mouth and body, with hopes that the extra info will help you to understand and work to make healthier lifestyle changes. We all slip now and then, being an educated patient and your own health advocate is crucial to maintaining the health goals we all want to obtain. I appreciate his proactive approach, it is only just a benefit that he is located downtown in less than 5 min. walking distance from my office and always has convenient appointments available. The ladies are kind and helpful, they've always had positive attitudes and always followed through responding to any requests or questions/concerns. I'm one of those annoying patients that prefers email over phone calls due to my ridiculously busy lifestyle and must show my gratitude for the time that the office ladies have put into communication with me. It is super appreciated as a patient who wants to prioritize their health but is often too busy or has trouble remembering (thanks chronic health issues!) . Dr Scott Morrell has been taking care of my teeth for the last 3 years now! We are working on transitioning the family over to one place now, too. This is truly one of the better offices in Boise and I recommend many of my colleagues, family and friends here whenever I can.

I have been a patient of Morrell Dental for nearly 15 years and have never had a bad experience. Whether for me or my children, the service has always been friendly and professional and the equipment, state of the art. Dr. Scott will explain things in a way that is easily understood and never has he made a recommendation for a procedure he believed to be unnecessary.
