Meet your Chapel Hill orthodontics team, led by Dr. Ashley Morgenstern. Our experienced and caring staff is committed to providing excellent, compassionate and personalized orthodontic treatment to you and your family.
Dr. Morgenstern was born in Kansas but grew up in several states including Oklahoma and New Mexico. After settling for most of her childhood in a small town in New Hampshire, she ran NCAA cross-country and graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech with degrees in both Biochemistry and Nutrition.
She then went on to the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree and graduated #1 in her class. After falling in love with the Triangle area, she decided to pursue an orthodontic residency at the University of North Carolina, where she earned her specialty certificate in Orthodontics and a Master's of Science in Oral Biology.
Dr. Morgenstern is excited to be staying in Chapel Hill and to be able to see patients in her new office! Aside from orthodontics, Dr. Morgenstern enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, swimming and running. In her free time, you can find her throwing pottery, learning to play the ukulele, traveling, or trying a new restaurant.
Dr. Morgenstern uses the latest technology in her office and continues to learn about emerging advances in orthodontics with continuing education courses so she can provide the very best care to her patients. She is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, North Carolina Dental Society, and North Carolina Association of Orthodontics.
Originally from the Midwest, Anne and her husband spend 7 years in Boston before settling in Chapel Hill with their 2 kids. When Anne isn't welcoming new patients into the Morgenstern Orthodontics family, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and being active.
Savannah grew up just down the road in Mebane, North Carolina. She completed her Dental Assisting program at Alamance Community College in 2019 and has worked in orthodontics ever since. She likes working with patients of all ages and helping them improve their smiles. When she isnt working, she enjoys traveling and one of her goals is to see and experience all parts of the world. She also loves swimming, shopping, concerts, and spending time with her bulldog, Chico!
Laura grew up in the charming town of Bailey, NC and just recently moved to the Chapel Hill area. She quickly fell in love with orthodontics after following in her mothers footsteps as a dental assistant in 2016. She is excited to join the Morgenstern Orthodontics team and get to know all of our wonderful patients. In her spare time, Laura loves to spend her days playing tennis, attempting to paint, and exploring all of the great parts of Chapel Hill.

Dr. Morgenstern is a specialist in orthodontics. This means she has undergone 11 years of higher education (4 years of college, 4 years of dental school, and 3 years of orthodontic residency) and has extensive experience treating patients with all types of dental conditions. Only a few dentists go on to become orthodontists. Dr. Morgenstern is highly skilled, she graduated #1 in her dental school class, and completed her orthodontics training at one of the top programs in the country, right down the road at UNC Chapel Hill. She prides herself in using her keen eye for detail to provide patients with excellent results.
Besides Dr. Morgenstern, we continually invest in training for our team. Our team has extensive knowledge in clinical procedures, insurance, the orthodontic process, and customer service. We love to educate our patients too! You will feel confident that you and your family are in good hands.

Clear aligners are now available from a variety of places, including the internet. When choosing a provider to care for your teeth and smile, you want someone who has undergone rigorous training in Invisalign, has the experience of treating many patients with the Invisalign system, and has a keen eye for perfection. Through her formal training in orthodontics, continuing education, and real world experience, Dr. Morgenstern is the authority you want behind the design of your new smile.
We use the latest technology and scientific advances to provide you with better, faster treatment results. We use an iTero 3D scanner to take digital impressions of your teeth, take low-dose digital x-rays, use modern appliances and Invisalign, and even use NiTi wires which are made of the same material that NASA uses! We offer clear braces and Invisalign for esthetic treatment options.
Our office is conveniently located and easily accessible on 15/501 between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro. This means your orthodontic care is only minutes away from your home, school, and work. Ample parking is always available.

We have enjoyed working with Morgenstern Orthodontics for our sons braces. The staff is very professional, friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are happy and taken care of. I highly recommend working with them!

Fantastic Orthodontist! I cannot say enough good things about Morgenstern Orthodontics. Dr. Morgenstern and her entire staff have been amazing. They are so patient and spent extra time helping our 13 year old get through some tough adjustments. It's been a very positive experience and I highly recommend them.

So impressed with this place ! My daughter is not even a patient and I called this practice to ask if I could have a replacement rubber band bc I was unable to get through to my orthodontist which was quite a far drive during the hurricane. They replaced her rubber band for no charge and were so KIND and friendly. Highly recommend!!

I wanted to share our great experience with Dr Morgenstern and her whole staff. A well cultivated team, I as the parent and my daughter as the patient, always felt well taken care of and informed. It struck me how genuine they all were. Plus the office is clearly well cleaned and sanitized. Would definitely recommend!

I finished my treatment plan a couple of months ago and I am so happy with the results! I had an interesting case, because I transferred to Dr. Morgenstern from out of state mid-treatment. I was SO lucky to have been recommended to her by my formal orthodontist. Dr. Morgenstern and her team are such welcoming, intentional, and friendly people. They were always so accommodating and patient with my busy schedule as a student. I commuted from Durham to Chapel Hill every visit, but totally worth it. Each visit was such a treat.

Both of our children see Dr. Morgenstern and have had amazing experiences. The office is modern and uses great technology. The staff is friendly and make both of our boys feel very comfortable during their visits. My youngest child has had his first phase of braces off already and the results are amazing. We are so grateful for Dr. Morgenstern and her awesome team.

Ashley Morgenstern and her staff of competent friendly women operate in an absolutely gorgeous space that feels like a spa. I enjoyed going every time I went, and the process of Invisalign was short and sweet and effective. They are flexible and kind and understanding and very good at what they do. I have no criticisms of my experience! I will miss them now that my teeth are straight and I don't need them anymore!

Our family moved from another state while our son was in braces. Dr. Morganstern and her entire team made the transition miraculously simple, both financially/insurance wise, and also in terms of orthodontic care. The entire team is incredibly professional, communicative, flexible, accommodating, and warm. Our son even got his braces off a couple of months early!

We had the absolute BEST experience at Morgenstern Orthodontics! My daughter can be anxious around new people and new experiences but was comfortable enough to enter the office on her own and always came out sharing about the conversations she had had with staff. The entire staff is friendly AND competent - they kept this chaotic mama organized! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

Morgenstern Orthodontics is a fabulous business. My son needed braces, the entire process was easy. The appointments were prompt, we were always met as family. My son really enjoyed going... which is saying something! The pictures and x-rays he got to keep and look at made his day! Whenever there was an issue with his wires or brackets, they'd work us in on the day and fix it with a smile! I cannot recommend them enough! We will be using their services for our daughter as well, when it's time.

Dr. Morgenstern is really knowledgeable and was fastidious in presenting the options to straighten my teeth. She made me feel confident in the treatment plan we decided on. Her office is beautiful and updated with all the latest in modern technology (her xray machine is so cool!). She took the time to get my Invisalign and teeth just right. She and her staff are friendly, professional and so kind with everyone, I can't recommend Morgenstern Orthodontics enough!

Taking my son to Morgenstern Orthodontics was a GREAT decision. First- location, location, location! It couldn't be easier or faster to get your kid there from NCE, Pollard, or Northwood. The entire team is kind, personable, thorough, really downright awesome! I never had trouble getting an appointment. They are very timely answering emails and always quick to get my son in if he had an issue with a wire- only twice in 18 months. Dr. Morgenstern is fantastic! She was always running on time to see patients and was great to work with- my son never complained about going to see her. His teeth look amazing! I will be bringing my daughter here as soon as she is ready for braces.

I had a very positive experience with Morganstern orthodontics. Dr. Morganstern is very friendly and professional. The entire office staff is helpful and friendly and seemed to always know everyone's names. Scheduling was easy--I could always get an appointment within a day or two if I needed it. I got Invisalign and was extremely pleased with the result. Highly recommend!
