Walking into Moraga Dental Care this morning for my long overdue teeth cleaning, Dr. Tavallei's recent investment in safety was obvious everywhere. A new normal. One of the first things I canceled at the start of the pandemic was my dentist appointment. In the 14 months I avoided rescheduling, Dr. T had moved into custom-built high-tech offices with hospital-grade ventilation, larger treatment rooms, new equipment, and new protocols. For me, that included adding my CDC vaccination card to my patient file. A new normal with one important thing unchanged: Care was just as wonderfully kind and thorough as always. My insurance card and a heart-felt thank-you? It just doesn't seem enough. If you are looking for a new dentist, Dr. Tavallei is a great choice!

Dr T is great. Office manager Naz, on the other hand, ruined the experience for me. 1. Told me my insurance does not cover my procedure (not true) and made me pay out of pocket - in March 2. Filed an inaccurate claim with my insurance, did not even mention the tooth number, so the claim got rejected - in May 3. Refused to follow the insurance process of re-filing the claim. I had to be on a call with her and insurance to convince her to do the right thing 4. The claim got processed accurately in June, with the office owing me a significant refund of what I paid out of pocket. 5. Never responded to numerous emails in June, July and August where I was asking for my refund. 6. When I called the office in August, Naz claimed that they are now disputing the claim and hence won't offer me the refund. When I called the insurance company, no provider disputes were showing. 7. Only when I involved my lawyer has the office swiftly, without additional questions, cut me the refund. in August. So while the doctor is great, the administrative experience is trash. Avoid. Many better offices in Lamorinda.

Just went in to take a mold of my teeth in prep for the final step of an implant. Nice new office with very professional and kind staff, including Dr. Tavallei. I was impressed by the way the office adjusted with measures to minimize the risk of infection.

I love this place and their family dynamic, it is always a pleasure going to see Dr. T and all of their staff. I trust all of the staff so much, and have never had a bad experience there. I would 100% recommend them to anyone.

One of the worst dentist I had ever had. They have been holding my overpaid money for a month. I tried to get the status of refund but, answer is the person who is in charge of was busy and gave the notice but, nothing's progressed

Dr. Tavallei and his staff are fabulous. Dr. Tavallei knows his stuff, he is also an assistant professor at the UCSF Dental School. He is gentle, super friendly and his office is very clean. The staff are just as friendly as he is. My entire family trusts their dental care to Dr. Tavallei.

I live in San Jose. Although it is far from me to drive to Moraga, but I don't care. I trust Dr. Tavallei and always looking for his advice. He is not only a professional dentist and assistant professor in UCSF Dental School but also an artist. You can see it when you need a crown, and he will design it in front of your eyes using Advance 3D imaging. Your crown will be ready the same day! That is incredible. I used to go to several other dentists but all of them put a temporary crown and you have to go back to your home, be very careful not to eat on that side until they call you after two or three weeks when the lab made your crown and then go again to put your permanent one. He makes the crown in his office the same day! Moraga dental care and Dr. Tavallei will be my lifetime dentist. No matter how far he is from me, I will dive to his office to take care of my teeth. He treats you as you are his close family. His staff are very polite, nice and friendly. Thank you Doctor and dear Naz! Maryam

I had been with the same dentist for over 35 years, he finally retired and I was left with the dreaded task of finding a new dentist. My wife recommended her dentist Dr. Tavallei. When I first contacted Moraga Dental Care I promptly received a call back and scheduled an appointment. All of the office staff that I spoke to and met was as nice as can be. When I met Dr. Tavallei instantly put me at ease, something I was not expecting after so many years with the same dentist. Dr. Tavallei explained everything that was going on with my teeth in great detail and in a kind and supportive manner. I ended up needing a crown and I have to say the level of technology that he uses in his office is amazing, it makes my old dentist's office seem like a dinosaur's cave. I highly recommend Dr. Tavallei and his staff at Moraga Dental Care.
