I am currently serving as the Chief Delegate for the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists in the AAO House of Delegates. I have also served as the President-elect for the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, which is made up of orthodontists located in Montana, Eastern Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. As a board member, I am involved in annual national, regional, and state meetings. These meetings give me an opportunity to learn the leading treatments in orthodontics. Technology in the field of orthodontics is constantly improving, which makes continuing education a must for any orthodontist.
I have one of the most experienced orthodontic teams in the area. Our most seasoned veteran has 38 years of experience in the same office, and together, my staff averages 16 years of experience per person. We meet every morning to discuss ways in which we can be the best orthodontic team for our patients. We are grateful for each patient, and each member of my team treats them as if they were the most important patient we have for that day.
I was born in Burley, Idaho, and my family moved to Nebraska when I was a year old. We lived there for ten years before moving back to Mountain Home, Idaho. Ive been living in Idaho Falls with my beautiful wife, Karrie Jo, since my graduation from the University of Nebraska in 1992. We have four children: Shantay, who married Zach Taylor, a former patient of mine; Brittany, who married Dr. Benton Perry, a Pediatric Dentist; Austin, who married Catherine Lewis; and our youngest, Ashtyn, who married Riley Mickelsen. We have a 4 grandsons named Kingston, Maverick, Ford, and Thatcher and a 5th grandson joining our family any day now! We also have 2 granddaughters, Scout and Mary. When not in the office, you can find me playing golf or spending time with my family. The majority of my time is spent with my family whether it be indoors or out.
I believe in giving back to the community in which we live. I coached youth ice hockey for 12 years. I started the Idaho Falls Youth Lacrosse Association and coached boys for six years. Now I am the assistant coach for the new girls program. I have coached Grid Kid Football for six years. I have served in a church leadership position at BYU-I since summer of 2008. We also donate thousands of dollars to youth-related activities each year.
Our team consists of dedicated individuals who are kind, friendly, andcaring. Our staff is here to ensure a pleasant experience during your visit toour office. Our team includes experienced and energetic people whose goal is tocommunicate well with our patients and provide the best care possible.
Tammy has worked in the Dental field for 36 years, 24 of those years have been at Mooso Orthodontics. Tammy is our treatment coordinator and helps Dr. Mooso begin our patients journey towards being confident in their smile.
Tammy is married and has 2 sons, and 4 beautiful grandkids. She loves spending time with her family, especially in the outdoors. When she is not busy at the office, you can find her out camping, 4-wheeling, or out on the back of her husbands Harley. She also loves animals, especially Schnauzers!
Alma has been in the dental field for 8 years, 6 of which have been spent here at Mooso Orthodontics as our Records Technician. As a records technician, she is responsible for taking our patients 3D scans, before and after photos, and all impressions for retainers.
Tammy S. has worked in Dentistry for 35 years and made the change to Mooso Orthodontics in January of 2016 as our Billing Coordinator. As a billing coordinator, she makes sure that all of our billing and insurance is done properly. Tammy has done insurance billing for many years and can help make sure all patients understand their insurance benefits. She also insures that all patients understand and are comfortable with their payment plans.
I love working here! Dr. Mooso is so supportive of the kids sports and activities. He is always acknowledging their accomplishments and willing to donate! I could not have chosen a better work family than the staff at Mooso Orthodontics!
Stephanie has worked for Dr. Mooso for 10 years as an Orthodontic assistant.As an orthodontic assistant she is in charge of assisting Dr. Mooso in placing and removing orthodontic appliances and helping throughout all aspects of our patients treatment.

Vanessa has worked in the dental field for 10 years. i joined the Mooso Orthodontics team in August of 2017. Orthodontic assistant she is in charge of assisting Dr. Mooso in placing and removing orthodontic appliances and helping throughout all aspects of out patients treatment.
Vanessa is married and has two beautiful girls. She loves being a mom and a wife and loves to laugh and have fun with family and friends. Her hobbies are shopping, staying fit, and bike rides with her family.

Dr. Bret Mooso is personally invested in his patients as his friends and neighbors, and always enjoys making personal connections to the families who come visit. He is very involved in the community coaching youth sports and started the local youth lacrosse program.
Your whole family will love their orthodontic visits! Kids love our office theme of sports and activities. Parents appreciate how friendly and outgoing our staff is, and the personal attention that Dr. Mooso pays to each patient at every visit. For your convenience, we start seeing patients at 7:45 in the morning so they can be seen before school, and we stay open until 5:00 p.m. We are also open one Friday morning a month in the fall, for rural patients who are on a four-day school week.

Dr. Mooso's office made me very uncomfortable. Dr. Mooso would insult my smile and say things like "you're so darling, but..." He would also touch me frequently. Grabbing my upper arm, touching my knee, that kind of thing. I also found the employee dynamic strange, a kind of "we're all family here," that can make for weird power dynamics. Some people may like the environment, but it felt unprofessional and too forward for me. If you are an introvert or shy I wouldn't recommend his office. I can't say how results for my teeth would have been, but I know I don't ever want to go back.

The energy is immaculate. I had to get braces to fix my bite, and was worried because I already really like my smile and was worried it would lose character but everyone was beyond reassuring that it was only going to enhance what I already have. I also think it's amazing that they work with care credit and have so many different payment options!

Dr Mooso and their staff have been wonderful to work with. I've had 4 of my kids plus myself have braces on and they care so much for each of us and have been so great to work with on all levels, even financially!! The staff is so friendly and caring that they all know the small details of each of my kids. Dr Mooso has seen all of my kids grown up and their smiles are just wonderful!! We've also had the opportunity to have Dr Murphy be a part of the whole braces process as well with 1 of my kids. He is always so nice, caring and always explains everything he's doing to where my daughter understands him. BEST ORTHODONTIST IN TOWN!!! No one is better priced, friendly or more personable that them!!

5 stars are simply not enough to explain how amazing Dr. Mooso and his staff are. I started seeing Dr. Mooso when I was in the third grade due to overcrowding in my mouth and horrendously aligned teeth. I went through two rounds of braces with Dr. Mooso to correct all of my misalignments and both times I had an incredible experience. There are no words to describe how much I truly appreciate the confidence that Dr. Mooso gave me by straightening my smile.

My son had a bracket detach from a molar while in Island Park for the summer, needless to say he was very uncomfortable. Unfortunately his orthodontist is back in Houston. We drove to Idaho Falls in search of an ortho and called Mooso Orthodontics just based on reviews. They took us in immediately. The clinic was bright and welcoming. The staff was amazing and friendly. Even though we were warned that there may be a wait, my son was called back within minutes and promptly back out the door, problem solved. I was prepared and willing to pay a kings ransom for the visit but a smiling cashier said it was a no fee visit. Wow. Thank you Dr Mooso and your wonderful staff. We are now back enjoying our summer holiday.

My daughter, Cady, from age 8 to 11 always looked forward to her orthodontal appointments. When I would accompany her, it was clear why. The office environment was completely welcoming with smiles, cheerfulness of every staff member, and helpfulness being the order of the day--every time. I couldn't have been more appreciative of the thoroughness and care for her orthodontal work, which was superb, but the kindness shown to her as a young person. I'd even go so far as to say the office environment is that of each customer's orthodontal family. I know it may sound hard to believe but it's true. Years later when I decided that I couldn't put off getting my own teeth straightened any longer, I knew I had to return to Mooso Orthodontics. The staff remembered Cady being a patient there and welcomed me back as if I were an old friend. I had no idea what to expect of the process of getting brackets, but I was blown away by experiencing first hand the dedication to customer service of Dr. Mooso and the entire staff: Detailed explanations of options, conscientiousness, thoroughness, latest equipment, the same cheerful ambience I've simply not seen elsewhere, reasonable cost, and, most importantly, the standard of excellence to exceed expectations and do the best job possible regardless of the time involved. I simply couldn't recommend Mooso Orthodontics any higher.

Dr Mooso is absolutely fantastic. He is knowledgeable, on par with relevant practices and procedures and technologies. His staff is excellent and the office is a joyful place to be! Dr Mooso takes the time to learn your names and family and really try to support you for way more than your teeth. He cares about your life.

We shopped around for an orthodontist and we feel like we chose the best when we chose Mooso. We appreciate the payment plan they set up for us. We trust their approach in correcting our daughters teeth, and we love that the staff treats us like old friends.

I love Dr Mooso and his staff! Everyone is so kind and knowledgeable. Dr Mooso is a perfectionist when it comes to your teeth and it is so worth it in the end! I only had to have my braces on for 11 months and it made so much of a difference to my smile! I'm so thankful for Dr Mooso and his staff!

I can't say enough good about Dr. Mooso and his whole team. I got my braces off today and I couldn't be more happy. Not only does he make you feel important and cared about but so does every member of his staff whether they are working with you or not. I would recommend them to everyone!!
