He spent a summer externship in Bethel, Alaska in 1998, and found the culture, the professional challenge, and the outdoorsmanship of the people of the YK Delta inspiring. So, after graduation, he immediately joined the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation Dental program in Bethel as a full-time Staff Dentist.
Over the next eight years, he worked for YKHC traveling around to over 35 villages providing dental services and then spent five years as Dental Director of the YKHC Dental program. During this time, he also served as clinical faculty for Lutheran Medical Center post-doctoral AEGD program, and clinical instructor for ASDOH and OHSU pre-doctoral externship programs.
When it was time to leave the YK Delta, Dr. Allgair first had a brief stint as Dental Director of a smaller CHC in Kenai and then opened a private practice in Sterling, Alaska; where he practices dentistry today.
When Dr. Allgair isnt giving his patients a bright smile, youll find him pursuing his love and passion for the outdoors! He loves fishing, hiking, motorcycling, spending quality time with his family and soaking up the beauty of Alaska!

I had good care from the team as a dental patient for the last few years. I go to his office when I'm there every summer. But I opted for the Juvederm and Botox injections and I shouldn't have. I allowed the doctor to talk me into getting Juvederm in my lip and it was so painful. I told Dr. Allgair how painful it was afterwards, and I went back to him each day for a few days complaining of pain, but he told me to take Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I wasn't able to eat or sleep due to the pain. I finally went to Urgent Care in Anchorage and received care and just a few pain pills. I had a hard lump in my bottom lip for months afterwards. It's still there 5 months later. He wouldn't do anything for me. Then he told me he didn't want to be my dentist anymore. WOW! Final note: the Botox injections didn't have any impact on the wrinkles or lift my eyebrows at all. I've had them before so I know what the results should be.
