Dr. Takemoto is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He is certified in the placement and restoration of dental implants, mini implants, Ultratooth implants, traditional orthodontics, Invisalign clear aligners, ClearCorrect clear aligners, the Chao Pinhole surgical technique for gum recession, surgical endodontics, periodontal surgery, sleep dentistry and conscious sedation.
Dr. Takemoto has worked in virtually every venue in dentistry, from volunteering and working on cardboard chairs in Mexico to volunteering on Indian reservations in Tucson, Arizona, as well as working in a Beverly Hills high-rise, working at CHOC (Childrens Hospital of Orange County), being on staff at Saddleback Hospital and the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda, and finally, working at a private practice here in Moorpark, California.
Dr. Takemoto is the owner of Moorpark Smiles in Moorpark, California, where we provide very personalized service to our valued patients from all over the surrounding areas. We love to hear their stories and what their goals are, and we do our best to help them achieve their best smiles!
My first day of dental school was so embarrassing! The instructor asked us, Who has never had a cavity? I proudly raised my hand, as I had been to the dentist regularly and had never had a cavity or filling! They put me in the dental chair in front of my classmates and instructors and began to examine my teeth. Oh, heres one! Oh, heres another! And another, and another. I had eight cavities, and one of them turned out to be very deep, close to the nerve of the tooth! I was mortified! After fixing the tooth with the huge cavity, the tooth ached for three months. I decided then that if I became a dentist, I would always provide accurate diagnoses and let people know the truth about the condition of their teeth so that what happened to me wouldnt happen to them. Our staff is motivated by extremely happy patients, and we do everything we can to make people want to give us a hug. Our formula is simple. We listen, we get to know you, we address what you want, we educate you on what you need, and we figure out a plan that is right and affordable for you.
After working so many years and focusing on learning every facet of dentistry, I feel very confident about our practices knowledge and our service. We are continually updating and raising the bar for our patients so that they can be served the best care possible.
Claudine has been with Moorpark Smiles Dental since 2011. She feels that the most rewarding thing about being with Moorpark Smiles is getting to know her patients and hearing about their families and lives as she forms a relationship with them. Having grown up right here in Ventura County, she loves this area and feels blessed to call it home. She attended Pacific Union College in the beautiful Napa Valley before transferring to Loma Linda University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.
Our office manager, Judy, has had the pleasure of working in the dental field for the past 30 years. She has been with our team at Moorpark Smiles Dental for four years. Judy received her RDA degree in 1992, and she loves answering questions and helping to put our patients at ease. She loves working with Dr. Takemoto, and enjoys the family feeling of our office and team.
Judy is a dedicated advocate for our patients and is takes great pride in putting gin the extra effort to make sure insurance pays heir portion of the treatment. She loves helping our patients achieve a beautiful smile and making sure that they are well informed about the treatments they need. With her years of experience as an RDA, she is able to go over treatments and the consequences of not having that treatment done, and puts our patients at ease by keeping them informed and assuring them that they will be well cared for by Dr. Takemoto.

Moorpark Smiles is the best dental office I have ever been to. I have severe anxiety about being in the dental chair, but the team here is so welcoming and supportive. Dr. Takemoto, Tracy, Judy and the whole team are friendly, compassionate and professional. They have helped me get my oral care back on track in a way I didn't think was possible. They are the absolute best in the business!

4/6/2022 11am Unprofessional. Received a call today reminding me that I needed to make a dental appointment as I was a half of a year past due. I politely told them that I had already notified the office 2x that I had moved. From that point on I was not allowed to speak as staff treated me to a 20 second offended dismissive speech and then hung up on me.

Amazing. I had a tooth pain and needed a crown, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They explained the procedure and I felt no pain during the entire process. Dr Takemoto and his entire staff are awesome, highly recommended!!

Do your research. This guy is fast, has a "magic wand" for cavities, did major work after $$$. I go to another dentist, because I had a iffy feeling, and then they tell me I have a cavity after conventional x-ray. This dentist did not fix previous cavities work in incisor after telling him....rush rush to next client. Office is hard to get a hold of, notifications / reminders didn't get many times, if you call, its automated machine response. Dentist was rude when wife went to front door on one occasion, which was locked, dentist just sat in chair at the desk, just looked at her at sat on his butt. But he loves Hawaii! Eh well, who doesn't? Hasta dude

I called and was able to get a quick appointment to address a painful molar abscess that prevented me from being able to eat food. The dentist pulled the decayed, abcessed tooth without delay. He and his entire staff were friendly and professional during my contact with them.

Staff is always professional and Dr. Takemoto is warm, friendly and inviting. In five years, we have never been offered a service that was not required. With a warm smile and steady hands, we received top notch dental care from him and the support staff. My wife and I have had several services performed there, cavities filled and crowns applied, without the need to return for a follow up issue.

I called to see if I can change my appointment to an earlier time, but they didn't have one. But Judy calls me and sets me up to an earlier time, due to someone else canceling. Really great to reschedule today so I could make another appointment that randomly came up elsewhere. Also, the whole office is friendly and the doctor does an excellent job. I am pleased with my fillings and cleaning. Just have to keep it clean
