I became a dentist because I learned the rewards of patient care while helping my father develop x-rays at his dental office beginning at 12 years old. I was graduated from the University of Missouri Columbia with a degree in Psychology and a DDS degree from University of Missouri Kansas City, and established a solo private practice that continues today in Rolla.

Having spent 30+ years in a rural outstate practice I believe that patients are entitled to the best dental care regardless of geographic location. By respecting patients time and listening to individual concerns, I have helped many patients get healthier and achieve the smile they want. I have a firm belief that preventative and restorative dentistry can allow patients to keep their teeth for a lifetime.

I have actively pursued continuing dental education opportunities since arriving in Rolla. Each year I routinely participate in over 2 times the minimum for continuing education hours required by the state of Missouri. With over 1,500 hours of Continuing Education I havecompleted the Dawson series of post doctoral courses in restorative dentistry as well as the Pankey Institute continuum. I am a member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and is a fellow of the American College of Dentists. I continue to be involved in professional study groups, both regionally and nationally and have also been an active teaching mentor with the Pankey Institute. I am a certified provider for Invisible Orthodontics with Clear Correct.

I have been married to my awesome wife Carol for 35 years. We have three children, Bill, Emily and Stephen. Our oldest son Bill is married to Emily Taylor, a pediatric dentist in Rolla. Our youngest son Stephen and our son-in-law Charlie have followed the career path of Dentistry and after post-graduate residencies both have returned to join our Dental practice. It is my honor to see these fine professionals follow a career path in preventive and comprehensive Dentistry continuing the care for patients who have come to trust this model for their Dental needs. As Dr. Charlie and Dr. Stephen join the practice it is our plan for them to take over the care of patients in the coming years as I become a part-time Dentist.

My hobbies include: being a new Grandparent! outdoor activities, triathlon/multi-sport, hunting, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, boating, water/snow skiing, working for our sons cattle operation on the family (hobby) farm, and handyman tasks. In addition, we enjoy traveling to see family outside of Rolla. Volunteering in the community is a priority for me as my life-long desire is to leave the world and our Rolla community better than I found it.

I became a dentist because I love interacting with people on an individual basis and being able to help each one of those people live a healthier lifestyle. Due to being a third generation dentist I have been around dentistry my entire life. With my father and grandpa being dentists, I was able to see first hand what it truly meant to be a dentist. As a dentist I would be able to do many things that I enjoy, such as working with my hands, giving back to the community where I grew up, and continuing to learn in order to deliver the best personalized care to my patients. As a Rolla native I lived in Rolla for the first 18 years of my life. I graduated valedictorian from Rolla High School before attending the University of Missouri in Columbia on an engineering scholarship. Knowing I wanted to be a dentist I switched majors to Biology my sophomore year to more closely line up with the dental school curriculum. I went on to receive early admission to the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry where I was involved in the endodontic advanced studies program. After dental school I decided to continue my education by completing a General Practice residency in Lees Summit, Missouri, at Truman Medical Center.

My General Practice Residency provided me the opportunity to increase my training in dentistry, including root canals, crown/bridge, oral and periodontal surgery, pediatrics, prosthodontics, sedation dentistry and implants. Working directly with specialists on complex cases I was able to develop a skill set far beyond basic general dentistry. I am very excited to use this skill set when I return to Rolla to provide patients with exceptional dental care without having to travel to a nearby city.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in both Columbia and Kansas City, Missouri, but I am excited to return to the community where I grew up. I have missed the sense of community that Rolla provides and the natural beauty surrounding our great town. I am excited to be able to return home and give back to the community that has given so much to me. I am honored to be able to work with my father and brother-in-law in our health centered dental practice focused on individualized personal care.

Since graduating dental school, I have enjoyed being able to continue learning in the field of dentistry and have completed over 12 times the required continuing education requirement for the state of Missouri. These courses included Spear education curriculum, implant placement and restorations, pediatrics, dentures, oral surgery, endodontics, and TMJ/TMD oral facial pain. I am a member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, and the Central Dental Society.

While in Kansas City I met my wife of 1 year, Megan, whose father, also a dentist, coincidentally graduated in my fathers dental class in 1984. Megan is currently a School Based Therapist at Rolla Middle School. Other than practicing dentistry I enjoy spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, water/snow skiing, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, traveling, and volunteering. I enjoy being in Rolla to enjoy the ozark outdoors and give back to the community that has given me so much.

Ive known Stephen since he was in grade school and was there when he first showed interest in becoming a dentist. His warmth, friendliness and ready smile have always impressed me. I admire his eagerness to return to Rolla to serve in his hometown and I look forward to seeing him carry on the long family tradition of providing exceptional dental care.

Jerry and I are privileged to say we have known Dr. Stephen his entire life. Even as a young child, you could tell he was going to be a very successful adult. Dr. Stephen has always been one to work hard, seek adventure, go the extra mile to find success and never shy away from responsibility and challenges. Dr. Stephen was raised to be polite, respectful and caring. These are traits you will find in Dr. Stephen each and every time you meet him.

I became a dentist because I love to smile and I want others to as well. From an early age, I knew I wanted to help people in a medical career and always enjoyed working with my hands. Having been a patient of Dr. Bills since I was 10 years old and seeing his interactions with patients and overall philosophy of the profession, becoming a dentist quickly went to the top of my list. I graduated from Rolla High School and then went on to Truman State University on a full academic scholarship as a Harry S. Truman Leadership scholar where I graduated with honors in Biology. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry where I was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and was in the Oral Surgery Advanced Studies program. After dental school, I was commissioned as an officer in the Dental Corps of the United States Air Force where I attended a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Eglin AFB, and then went on to general dentist assignments at Incirlik AB, Turkey and the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. I consider myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve and for the invaluable personal and professional experiences the Air Force provided.

The Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency allowed me to expand my knowledge in aspects of dentistry to include root canals, crown/bridge, oral and periodontal surgery, sleep apnea, and implants. I was able to work alongside specialists in all aspects of dentistry on complex cases and develop an expanded skill set beyond routine general dentistry. I pride myself on being able to offer patients multiple treatment options and help them to decide the best dental care for their specific needs.

I am a member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, and the Central Dental Society. I have completed well over the minimum continuing education hours for the state of Missouri including courses in the Dawson curriculum, implant placement and restorations, periodontal therapy, dentures, and oral surgery. I have also presented at the Hinman Dental Meeting in Atlanta, GA where I received an award for my presentation on Medical Emergencies in General Dentistry.

Through all the different locations Ive lived for schooling and assignments, I always felt that I was missing the sense of community and togetherness that Rolla provided me growing up. Being a third-generation Rolla resident, nothing gives me greater pleasure than the opportunity to come home and provide for the town and people that gave so much to me. It is humbling to be able to join Dr. Bill and Dr. Stephen in a practice that epitomizes what dentistry should be about, the whole person concept with a health-oriented focus.

I have been married to my lovely wife Emily, also a Rolla native, for 7 years and we have an adorable 2 year old daughter, Lucy, and 2 month old son, Graham. We love being in Rolla and could not think of a better place to raise a family. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy being a dad, spending time with family and friends, hiking, fishing, playing golf, skiing, traveling, and community events.

I am a dental hygienist with over 20 years of experience in the dental field. I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Arthur at the United States Air Force Academy and am sad to see him go. But our loss is your gain. Dr. Arthur is a very personable, friendly, and knowledgeable dentist. On many occasions I have had patients tell me they want to see the same doctor they had seen on their last visit and when I look in their record I see Dr. Charles Arthur 's name. From the moment he steps into the dental treatment room till the time you leave, Dr. Arthur will set you at ease. I have had patients tell me Dr. Arthur looks too young to be a dentist', but let me say he is very knowledgeable and knows dentistry. His patients love him! I trust him to see both myself and my family for our dental needs.

I have been privileged to both work with and be treated by Dr. Charles Arthur. As a dental provider he is articulate, extremely competent and educated in many phases of dentistry, to include the latest in accredited aspects of dentistry. Dr. Arthurs office is very relaxed and professional. This is evident by the numerous positive patient critiques he and his staff have received. As a patient I received excellent care with attention to detail. Dr. Arthur discusses all necessary treatment and explains their needs in terms a patient can easily understand.
