Dr. Joe Moon was born and raised in Kansas by his parents who migrated from Korea in 1976 in search of the American Dream. Hard work and determination allowed them to achieve that dream, giving Dr. Moon the opportunity to pursue his own dreams.

Dr. Moon graduated as the valedictorian of his high school class and, after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas, he decided to pursue a career in dentistry.

He obtained an Ivy League dental education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he finished at the top of his class and served as president of the class his entire four years of attendance.

One of his greatest achievements while in dental school was meeting his future wife, Beverly, who happened to be a classmate of his. After dental school, Dr. Moon and his wife both completed general practice residencies in New York City before relocating to Dallas, TX to practice dentistry.

Dr. Moon gained invaluable experience as a dentist but decided to continue his education. He relocated to Minneapolis, MN where he received his orthodontic specialty training and a masters degree at the University of Minnesota.

After completing his training, Dr. Moon moved his family back home to Kansas and has been practicing orthodontics in the Kansas City metro area for the last several years. His wife, Dr. Beverly Moon, practices general dentistry in Olathe, KS.

Dr. Moon is very involved in the community both personally and professionally including serving as the President of the Kansas Association of Orthodontists in 2016. Dr. Moon, his wife, and their three daughters, Isabel, Sophia and Grace, planted their roots in firmly Overland Park and look forward to growing with you over the years.
