My motivation to become an orthodontist began at age 10 when my dentist referred me to an orthodontist. My front teeth stuck out 11 mm., but with orthodontic care, they were straight. I was not only happy to have nice smile, but was determined to make people proud of their smile.
After high school, ten years of college seemed too much. I altered mypath from orthondontics to chase a new dream of working on the Space Shuttle Program for NASA.I became a Professional Mechanical Engineer and worked for Lockheed-Martinon thefire protection systems for the space shuttle launchfacilities from 1982-1987.This was the mostpatriotic experience of my life.Shortly after the Challenger accident, I knew I was ready to rekindle my dream of becoming an orthodontist.

I've been seeing Proietti since I was about 6 years old and I had extremely messy teeth to say the least. I am now 18 and got my braces off last year after 6 years as well as several years of head gear, spacers, and practically everything you could think of. My teeth are amazing now and Proietti is very patient and dilligent in what he does and the results show. Highly recommend them.

I am an adult who stopped wearing my retainer about 10 years ago and went to Monumental Smiles after my teeth started to move. Dr Proietti was very helpful in getting me a new retainer that will resolve my issues with my teeth without putting me back into braces. I appreciate that he was honest and was able to help. Update: the treatment to fix my teeth has taken longer than originally planned and has had to be changed a bit to include invisialign-type retainers. I have not been charged extra since the original price, despite things not going exactly to plan. Dr Proietti wants my bottom teeth to be exactly right before stopping.

I have never left a review before but I thought people should be warned. All I can say is be wary of paying upfront and good luck getting any calls returned. I had to move in the middle of my treatment and had many miscommunications between the doctor and staff regarding a partial refund after having paid upfront. I eventually did get my money back but only after having to wait many weeks (changing my moving schedule in the process) for a calculation that should have taken 30 minutes. I called about 5 times over this period asking for a status and a callback, I didn't get a single call even after having been on hold for over an hour one of the times. In the end I had to go down to the main office 3 times over a 2 day period and talk to someone in person before the matter was resolved. The fact that my few thousand bucks was not worth a 5 minute callback was beyond disrespectful. This should have been a simple matter of, "Yes we owe you some money, here you go." Instead they made it as painful as possible for unknown reasons.
