Dr. Sterling was raised on Long Island, New York and quickly knew he wanted to help people for a living. His mother Stelly, an accomplished artist, was a heavy influence in Dr. Sterling choosing dentistry a medical discipline combining art and science. Stellys art is proudly displayed today within the office and continues to be an inspiration.
Dr. Sterling was a nationally-ranked high school soccer player and was recruited to play for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After getting his undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in medical sciences, he was accepted to the Medical College of Virginia at VCU where he attained his Dental Degree. Dr Sterling is active in continuing education and stays current with evolving dental materials, appliances and procedures. When asked what he most values about his dental practice, Dr. Sterling says, Building trusting relationships with my patients and staff.
When not in the office, Dr. Sterling is an avid sportsman (go Tar Heels and Rams!). He enjoys hiking in the mountains, spending time at the beach and enjoying meals at his favorite RVA eateries. Dr. Sterling has a lovely wife, beautiful daughters and adorable grandchildren.
