Originally from Northeastern Nebraska, Dr. Burtwistle and his family have lived in the Monument area since 1998 and love being a part of this wonderful community. He began his medical career as a Paramedic, then became a Registered Nurse, serving as a Charge Nurse at Penrose Community Hospital and St. Francis Medical Centers. After serving as Director of Nursing at Audubon Surgery Center at St. Francis, Dr. Burtwistle went on to further his career and become a Dentist.
Dr. Burtwistle has two daughters. His wife Julia is a retired Air Force Officer and has worked as a business consultant for over 15 years. In 2014, Julia also founded and is the Executive Director of a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for a childhood disease that affects their family.
Sandy is a Colorado native and grew up on a dairy farm in the Arkansas Valley. She has worked in the dental field for 30 years, first as a dental assistant then in office administration. Sandy is married to her husband, Kriss. They have one daughter and three dogs. She enjoys being outdoors and traveling.
Julie received her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1992 from the University of Colorado in Denver and was an Orthodontic Assistant for several years prior to continuing her education in dental hygiene.
Julie joined the Monument Family Dentistry team in July 2013. She and her husband Ken have lived in the Monument area since 1998 and enjoy doing projects around the house and taking scenic road trips.
Kim is a Minnesota native, having relocated to Colorado Springs in 2013. She has been practicing Dental Hygiene since 1992 and loves bringing amazing care to her patients. Kim is married, has two grown sons and a 1-year-old granddaughter. She enjoys the outdoors and exploring the Colorado backcountry, camping, hiking, snowshoeing, and four-wheeling.
Dianna is originally from New Mexico and has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She began her dental career as a dental assistant before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and pursuing her Masters from the University of New Mexico. She prides herself on building trusting relationships with our patients. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, working out & learning more about nutrition. She enjoys hiking and has checked off nine of Colorados 14ers.
