Your tooth consists of two main parts: the crown, which is that part of the tooth above the gum and visible in your mouth; and the root or roots, which is that part of the tooth that lies beneath the gum and is surrounded by bone. Inside each root is a channel that runs the length of the tooth. This channel is the root canal and contains the pulp (nerves, blood vessels, and soft tissue), which is often referred to as the nerve of the tooth.
The pulp may be irreversibly damaged by bacteria associated with decay, very deep restorations, fractures, trauma, or periodontal disease. In order to preserve a tooth in which this has occurred, it is necessary to remove the diseased pulp tissue. This procedure is known as root canal treatment or endodontic therapy. Since endodontic therapy is concerned with removing only the pulp from the root canal, the root will continue to function normally because the supporting tissues remain intact. It is advisable to remove the injured pulp because it may become infected or act as an irritant to the tissues surrounding the tooth.

Had a wonderful experience with Monument Endodontics & Periodontics and Doctor Mangin. I had extreme sensitivity in my bottom molar and told my Dentist, Dr. Shakoori on a Monday. She referred me to Dr. Mangin who was able to see me and perform a flawless root canal on Wednesday of the same week. I really appreciate his team's urgency in getting me relief from what he called a "hot" tooth. He worked very patiently but efficiently and got me in and out of the dental chair in a very short time considering the complexity of a root canal and all the precautions they took to be thorough. That night and the next day I was surprised at how little discomfort I had and only needed Tylenol and ibuprofen to feel perfectly fine. The whole experience was very professional but also personal. What a relief it is now to have no sensitivity to cold and being able to chew on that side of my mouth. I highly recommend this practice, Dr. Mangin and his team.

I was referred to Dr. Mangin for tooth pain that my dentist could not identify. The pain was astounding. Dr. Mangin and his staff were extremely kind and he was able to identify the issue right away. This was my first root canal and I was very nervous. I entered Monument Endodontics and Periodontics, and I was greeted by such friendly and professional staff and a well-kept clean office. Every step of the way the staff ensured my well being and was extremely courteous and understanding. Dr. Maan Zuaitar performed my root canal and was absolutely stellar! I am extremely thankful and happy with my experience with Dr. Mangin and staff, from Amanda at the front desk to Claudia assisting Dr. Mangin. My dentist referred me to Monument Endodontics and I called and they were able to get me in that same day due to a cancellation. I was having severe tooth ache, this wonderful team were able to see me immediately. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating, answered my questions and concerns professionally. I highly recommend Monument Endodontics and Periodontics. I'm really scared of dental procedures but my root canal procedure went very well. Except the needle sting to inject the anesthesia, I did not feel any other pain at all...ZERO pain I tell you. I just felt the vibration of the tools on my tooth. Dr Kent McBride was very professional and answered my questions. The front office lady is very sweet and caring. The whole team made me very comfortable and my experience there was stress free.

I had a great experience here I was really nervous and scared knowing that I had to get either a root canal or an extraction. when I walked in I was greeted by a lovely receptionist who is very welcoming and knew exactly what to ask from me. I came a couple minutes late but as soon as I got there they were ready for me. A really nice assistant took me to the office/room and told me how the procedure was going to go and answered most if not all of my questions. She was really sweet and kind and she told me that Dr. McBride was going to be coming soon. Dr. McBride made me feel like I was in safe hands he answered all the questions I had we even made conversation and cracked some jokes. By the time we were ready to start the procedure I was a lot nervous. They did an awesome job I didn't feel any pain (besides the anesthesia but it wasn't anything more then a sting from the needle) it was nice that the DR was having a conversation with his assistant during the procedure it gave me something to pay attention to instead of sitting there in silence having my tooth drilled. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone, you're in good hands and they are very professional. At the end I went back to the receptionist and they had a gift for me since it is my birthday month which was super nice! Honestly i wouldn't mind another broken tooth just to come here again :) 10/10

This office is top notch. I have never had a root canal before and I can honestly say, there was nothing to it. Dr. McBride and his team informed me about what was going on every step of the way. I was diagnosed and treated both at the same appointment. They also gave me an appointment on the same day as my discomfort was getting worse very quickly. I have nothing to offer as far as how they could improve as they were all stellar. I would recommend them to anyone needing this kind of treatment.

The staff is pleasant, professional and caring. Scheduling my appointment was not only quick but they scheduled me for the next day. I was amazed at how efficient they are at getting you checked in and to the dental chair so fast. Dr. McBride was very caring. My overall experience was amazing.
