Dr. Don Oh is a Diplomate of American Board of Orthodontics, the only certifying board in the specialty that is recognized by the American Dental Association. Not all Orthodontists are Board Certified Orthodontists. Only a select few have achieved Board Certification by American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Oh attended Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in New York city, currently Columbia College of Dental Medicine, for his dental education. After achieving Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia, Dr. Oh attended General Practice Residency at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Cambridge Health Alliance in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Oh then practiced in private practices located in Concord and Lexington, Massachusetts. During his residency and private practice, his interests in Orthodontics grew as he witnessed how Orthodontics can improve quality of lives for his patients by providing healthy and conservative treatment as well as esthetic improvement. Once Dr. Oh decided that Orthodontics is the profession that he will commit himself to, Dr. Oh pursued further training in Orthodontics and was accepted into Orthodontic Residency program at University of the Pacific in San Francisco.
After finishing his training in Orthodontics and practicing in greater Boston area for a number of years afterwards, Dr. Oh decided to come back to New Jersey where his family and friends are nearby. Dr. Oh feels privileged to be back in New Jersey and to serve the community of Montvale and cities nearby.
Orthodontic treatment, by nature, can affect the position of the lips, and, in return, facial appearance of lower half of the face. Orthodontic treatment can also alter pressure on the gum, bite, and more. Patient's facial and physical growth also needs to be considered for the right timing of Orthodontic treatment. Montvale Orthodontics is equipped with State of the Art technology, including Digital Impression, 3D printing, Digital x-ray machine with significantly less radiation, and much more. These technology enables us to provide effective care more efficiently and comfortably. Also, Montvale Orthodontics offers a number of choices for treatment, from Metal Braces to more esthetic options such as Invisalign or Lingual Braces (practically invisible braces that are placed on the inside surface of the teeth).
At Montvale Orthodontics, we provide flexible payment options. After your estimated insurance coverage is determined, we will sit down and come up with payment plans with you. If monthly payments plan is your choice, the monthly payments plan will be with Zero interests. Also, we offer discounts with pay in full on the front end.
With iTero with 3D Digital impression technology, no more gooey impression and discomfort of taking traditional impressions. The accurate digital model becomes available instantly, and diagnosis can be made immediately. Since it is stored digitally, no more retake of the impressions is necessary if it needs to be reproduced. 3D printer receives information digitally from the 3D Digital impression and produces 3D model of your teeth. Since everything is done digitally from impression to production of the models, any chance of cross contamination is completely removed.
We know that your time is valuable, we offer a flexible schedule that includes weekend and evening hours. Our treatment coordinator works with insurance companies, Health Spending accounts and in-house financing to make treatment affordable. At Montvale Orthodontics, we treat our patients with the latest and best technology. One of the many state-of-the-art technologies that Montvale Orthodontics incorporates is a new Planmeca Promax Pan/Ceph machine. The images that are created help Dr. Oh diagnose and treatment plan with the best available data. Not only does our machine take the highest resolution images, but it does so with a super low dose of radiation. Typically much lower than conventional X-ray and medical CT scanners.
The iTero scanner digitally captures the structure of the teeth and gums using the latest optical technology. The scanner is a compact, hand-held wand. Once an orthodontist begins the scanning process, it can be stopped and started as many times as necessary.
Through digital software, youll then be able to follow the progress of the scans, including a 3D model of your teeth on our computer screen. Though we do still take some alignate impressions, the iTero scanner can be used for any orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign.
Having a 3D Printer in our office is much more than a new technology: it allows our patients to save time and money by building aligners and retainers in our Montvale office. Instead of sending out our scans, we keep all impressions in the 'cloud', so if you lose an aligner or retainer, don't worry! We got you! We can print it in the office without having to wait days or even weeks for a new one.
Indirect bonding utilizes the latest technology to make the most precise bracket placement to make your treatment as efficient as possible. With a combination of smile design led by Dr. Oh through a high technology software and a streamlined 3D automation for impactful evaluation and placement. What does this mean for you? Dr. Oh can scan your teeth using our 3D scanner and utilize the software to make sure your treatment is as efficient as possible. Dr. Oh can treatment plan and see optimal results using the software and then have guided placement.

I've been to many orthodontists office and this one has by far been the best one yet! The front desk got got me an appointment the next day for a consultation with Dr. Oh. The most state-of-the-art, friendly, and accommodating practice I've ever encountered. I love the bright open office space but what sold me was the free consultation I received for my family. I was expecting a 5-10 minute consultation, but we received a comprehensive examination with a thorough explanation of treatment and payment options. Dr. Oh took the time to answer all my concerns with no sales pitch and hurried conversation. I appreciated the staff laying out the options and leaving it up to me to make an informed decision. The staff's professionalism, patience, and bedside manner are above and beyond, and I highly recommend this place to both youths and adults.

The attention to detail in the office aesthetic should be your first indicator of the type of experience you'll have with Dr. Oh! After my final visit, I felt compelled to write this review to assure prospective patients that their time and money spent will be held in high regard here. The team recognizes and respects the huge investment you are making in either yourself or your child. Dr. Oh provides candid feedback -- braces instead of Invisalign was the better option to achieve my desired outcome. He was reasonable; he never pressured me; and he even encouraged me to have a longer conversation with my previous orthodontist to try to work through a solution with them while I was still under their treatment plan. Dr. Oh is not motivated by greed but instead patient satisfaction -- I trusted him based on those actions from that first visit. Let me assure you: Montvale Orthodontics offers quality, this is THE place to go. Your opinion on the treatment progress will be heard. Dr. Oh genuinely wants you to be happy with the results! If you want specifics on my experience... I was dissatisfied with the overcrowding and malalignment of my teeth despite years of braces in adolescence. I returned to my childhood orthodontist in Paramus for an Invisalign treatment. Six years of Invisalign later, Matthew was convinced everything was going as planned and my teeth were looking great! After vocalizing my dissatisfaction with the length of the treatment, I decided to seek a second opinion and went to Dr. Oh, who delivered my perfect smile in just nine months! The other orthodontist from Paramus had a factory setup, churning out 5-7 patients every 5-10 minutes. Despite the turnover, I'd find myself waiting 20-30 minutes due to an overbooked system. Conversely, Dr. Oh's office has only four chairs, but he usually had only one to three patients in the office at a time. Dr. Oh was attentive to detail, constantly checking with me to make sure I was satisfied with the progress I was seeing. I never had to wait when I was in the office. I was cared for and my time was respected.

5 Stars for Montvale Orthodontics!!! Dr. Oh is very professional, caring and very understanding, takes time to listen to his patients with genuine interest. The office is exceptionally clean I felt wonderfully comfortable with the friendly staff. Everyone looks like they like their job and the patients. I saw an advertisement in a flyer in my mailbox with his picture on it, so I went to see Dr. Oh because I have a gap between my 2 front teeth, that used to look good but over the years the gap got large enough for me to slide my index nail between the teeth, had to stop it. I have not seen his face yet due to COVID-19 he and staff always wear masks and gloves. Thanks to the flyer I saw his face. Now that Dr. Oh has helped me my gap is not wide anymore, I can hardly fit a dental floss through. Truly Dr. Oh put the dental floss between my teeth to evaluate my progress. I did not know that is how the check-up goes. I was impressed because the measurements taken of my bite are so precise the trays fit perfectly, and the progress was prompt. I am super happy with my results. Thank you Dr. Oh and your staff who take safe care of me too.

The minute I was greeted I felt super comfortable, staff is super nice an very knowledgeable. I haven't started my treatment as of yet but the hospitality of the Dr. Oh & his staff is enough for me to leave an early review. Treatment plan & cost was explained thoroughly, I'd advise anyone in need of orthodontics work to go visit Montvale Orthodontics.

So happy I found Montvale Orthodontics! The staff are so friendly and helpful. The process of making an appointment and filling out paperwork was easily completed. I signed up for text alerts for reminders of appointments which I personally find to be helpful. The facility is so clean and modern. The doctor listened to my concerns and took the time to make sure all of my questions were answered. I would recommend them to friends and family!
