Worst dentist I've ever been to. Not sympathetic to patients and shoddy work. Find ANYWHERE else!

Dr. Montoya is a great guy. He explains each of your options clearly and thoroughly. As a regular patient, he has always found room to squeeze me in when emergencies strike. I would recommend him highly as a person and a dentist.

I used him for years, and I trust his diagnosis. I used him for a second opinion, and he confirmed my suspicions. A new dentist that wanted to do more work than was necessary after I moved away. He does not propose doing dental work before it is needed. Some dentists will propose doing procedures when they aren't needed. This happened once with a dentist that did not like the way a crown looked. The dentist re-did the crown, it went abscess, and I had to get a bridge. On every cleaning that I had at the office, I don't recall a single time when Dr. Montoya didn't stop in to check on me. I was with him for well over ten years.

Dr Montoya doesn't stop in at the end of the cleanings to check on patients. In the years 4 years I went for regular teeth cleaning, I only saw him 2 times. The last dental hygienist was rough and very rude, which was the last straw. Don't recommed this dentist.

I've seen Dr. Montoya since I was 14. That's about a decade. He knows my teeth better than I do. I've seen a few others in between because circumstances distanced myself from his office, and I've always come back. Two thumbs up. Workmanship is superb. Never had a problem with fillings, etc. They are always helpful with billing and insurance.

So disappointing... I went to get a filling replaced, pretty straightforward I thought. I was expecting these steps: 1. numb, 2.drill, 3. prime, 4. fill, 5. adjust, 6. polish, 7, quality check. What I got was: numb, drill, fill. I had to go back once for adjust and polish, as the filling was protruding and rough. But it's still not floss-able, meaning another trip in. Compared to all other dentists I've been to, his work is haphazard and rushed. He didn't do many of the steps I thought were basic or fundamental to dentistry. As a family we're definitely switching dentists. Also, there is an odd emphasis from the Dentist on needing a bite guard. Every other patient of his I've talked to has also been encouraged to get a bite guard. Must be pretty hefty profit margin?!
