Her first dental residency program was a two-year general practice residency at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. During this time, Dr. Hartnett received a great deal of surgical experience and became interested in periodontology. She then received her specialty training in the Periodontics Residency Program at the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry and the Memphis Veterans Affairs Hospital.
Dr. Hartnett is a Board Certified Diplomate of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. She is on the attending staff at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center, where she teaches dental residents. To keep on the cutting edge of dentistry, Dr. Hartnett regularly attends continuing education courses. She is certified in minimally invasive procedures including gingival grafting and the Pinhole Surgical Technique. All implant surgery is accomplished using state of the art 3D guided techniques.
She is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Board of Periodontology, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Northeastern Society of Periodontists, the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association and the Essex County Dental Association. Her philosophy of treatment is to deliver high quality dentistry in a calm, caring office. Patients receive personalized attention designed to meet their needs. In her free time she is an avid scuba diver.

Recently I had a Gingival Grafting procedure with Dr. Anne Hartnett. I had a great experience, and benefited from her expertise and gentleness. If I could give Dr.Hartnett and her staff ten stars, I would. I've been a patient for well over 20 years and have always felt comfortable and confident with Dr. Hartnett's treatment plans. She has always treated me with the highest level of care and professionalism. Her staff are diligent about confirming appointments, insurance coverage, etc. and they're delightful to work with. I also appreciate their follow-up calls after a procedure.

I was referred to Ms. Hartnett as a "consultation" by my dentist. He had specific concerns about the status of specific teeth. Ms. Hartnett did not address any of his concerns with me and my visit ended with the push to book me for bilateral gum surgery immediately...without even consulting my dentist first. What was even more amazing is that I was forced to listen to a list of pre-operative instructions to surgery I hadn't even consented to yet!! What really compounded to this horrific experience is this...As I was preparing to leave and after Ms. Hartnett left the front desk completely indicating she was done with me, the front desk attendant NOW informs me that they DO NOT take my insurance. I gave this same person my insurance information upon arrival and also informed Ms. Hartnett about my coverage during her discussion of her proposed surgery. I am not informed about this UNTIL I am ready to leave...and the attendant says it is my fault for not asking!! I am also a physician and no patient in my office has ever or will ever receive such unethical and rude treatment as my one and only time experience here.

I have known Dr. Hartnett for four years. I go for cleanings in her office every 4-6 months. Dr. Hartnett's office is a very nice and positive environment. Because I am afraid of dentists, that helps me a lot. I really love her work, how precise she is in examining my gums and explaining her measurements. The cleanings I receive there are excellent and my gums have never been healthier. Last year, I had to have gum surgery. It was quick and painless. I was impressed with the procedure, how organized and professional it all was. Dr. Hartnett saved my tooth and I couldn't be happier. I really appreciate her patience, care, and professionalism. Thank you, Dr. Hartnett, for all your hard work!

I took my dad to Dr Hartnett for an implant who came highly recommended from our dentist. He was very nervous at first but Dr Hartnett took the time and explained the procedure from start to finish so that my dad could fully understand. I recently had a great experience with a dedicated & caring periodontist. A coworker recommended Dr. Hartnett and I was hesitant as with going to any doctor because you just never know. Dr. Hartnett took excellent care of my nephew. He has had several problems with his teeth over the years and Dr. Hartnett carefully explained all of his options and gave us recommendations of qualified orthodontists who could help him. She also went over all of his options with me so. She took a great amount of time and care with my nephew and was very informative throughout the process. I highly recommend Dr. Hartnett to anyone who is looking for an outstanding doctor! Update: I recently had an emergency issue with a broken tooth and Dr. Hartnett made time to see me right away. She explained all of my options and was very detailed about all possibilities. She and her office staff are extremely nice and caring and provide a very relaxed experience. I have been a patient of Dr. Hartnett for over ten years. She expertly and painlessly performed 2 implant procedures and gum replacement surgery on me. Her kind and gentle demeanor made me feel confident and relaxed in her chair. She is attentive to your needs and worked with me to ensure that my recovery was seemeless. I'd like to thank Dr. Hartnett and her staff for making an unpleasant and scary dental procedure manageable and relatively painless. Dr. Hartnett explained my options and the procedure in detail. After the each procedure Dr Hartnett called me personally to check in and see if I was experiencing any pain or discomfort. I hope I will never have another implant, but if I do she will be the doctor I go to and I will recommend her to my friends and family.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Hartnett for more than twenty years. We are pleased with the courtesy her office extends and confident in the care we receive.
