Montavilla Dental Arts began as the dream of Dr. Nicole Apollon-Chirouze DMD, MPH, and was opened in 2017. Her practice has since expanded to include a brilliant and talented team of dentists, hygienists, and staff who all appreciate the opportunity to work with you on improving your teeth and dental health from the first visit to long-term patients.

At Montavilla, our focus is always on you, the patient. Its our goal to be partners in maintaining, restoring, or enhancing your teeth and oral health. To do that, we always listen first to provide compassionate patient care and education so you can make the right choice for your dental health.

We believe in learning about and using the latest dental health technology to improve your results and your comfort level, whether thats using the intraoral camera, digital x-rays, CBCT, oral sedation, and/or nitrous. We are also always a mercury-free clinic.

I graduated from Princeton University in Economics. I have a Masters in Public Health from Drexel University in Philadelphia. I have my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine. I was the recipient of Academy of General Dentistry award, American Association of Endodontists Award and recipient of a Clinical Scholarship award.

I am passionate about dentistry and am always seeking ways to improve my skill and knowledge to better serve you. I enjoy not only the clinical aspect of dentistry, but also the personal relationships that form naturally from working closely with patients. I take many continuing education courses regarding implants, orthodontics, periodontics and cosmetic techniques, and volunteer with the Compassion Clinic. I currently serve as the Clinical Director of Oregon Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Mastertrack Program and am on the Continuing Education Committee for the AGD.

So thankful for montavilla dental arts and Dr AC! I came in needing an emergency extraction and they treated me as if I'd been a patient for years, so friendly and accommodating even with my difficult schedule. Sahara and Kassy were very helpful and encouraging through the whole process. Im so thankful to the team here and have already recommended them to a friend!

Be very wary when going to Montavilla Dental Arts. Like many on here I was excited for a new dentist, small practice, close to home, etc. I have Blue Cross, Blue Shield FEP (Federal Employee) Dental and when I called to make my first appt, I asked them point blank if they were in network and they verified multiple times that they are indeed in network. I gave them my Dental information and had my cleaning and exam. The service itself was fine and the dentist was nice enough, but after the visit was when the problems began. *they actually aren't in network despite multiple assurances on their part (both in writing via email and over recorded phone conversations) *when they did the Xray for my routine exam, they failed to inform me that it was a very detailed Xray that most insurances only authorize once every five years. Any reasonable person would believe when a dentist says Xray, they mean a routine Xray, not one that insurance won't cover. *the prices they charge (fee schedule) are above the allowable for the insurance so regardless if they were in network as they told me multiple times, they wouldn't be covered fully *when I called to ask about it, they were very abusive and hostile, and ultimately hung up on me *they sent detailed HIPAA-protected information for a family member to me even though that family member is NOT on our dental insurance, never has been on our dental, and there was no justification for them to tell me about them. *their provider has multiple credential issues with BCBS FEP Blue Dental which caused additional delays besides them lying (or being ill-informed) about them being in network. *instead of working with me on these issues that they created through their misrepresentations about being in network, they have sent a bill for the full amount and a threat of collections. *the only recourse I now have is to file a grievance with my insurance and the Secretary of State (business licensing) and the Oregon dental credentialing board. Bottom line, if you have the money to pay whatever they would like and like them, sure! I'm a public servant working for the gov't and I don't have unlimited amounts to pay whatever they would like to charge. I was working on the premise (verified multiple times by them) that they accept my insurance and I was going to get affirming care from them, instead it was a very stressful and combative ending to a dental relationship I never should've initiated.

Montavilla Dental Arts, Dr. AC and her entire team are amazing! I had been experiencing dental pain that started to increase daily. I saw a different dentist and I was told my teeth were perfect and that I probably just had a sinus infection. As the days progressed the pain increased and I began to have facial swelling (which turned out to be facial cellulitis). I was referred to Dr. AC by a friend and at first glance my teeth seemed fine but she took extra steps and found a fractured tooth. After an emergency room visit I returned and Dr. AC was able to safely remove the tooth. Her honest and compassionate care truly go above and beyond! I'm so grateful for the entire team!!

Thank you to Doctor AC for my lovely new smile. I asked for straight teeth but could not imagine what some grinding and filling would do to make them pretty much perfect. Thank you for not letting me be okay with good enough. I also really love the feel of your office. Everyone is so nice and cheerful and I think I know everyone who works there by name, which is so nice compared to my past 'big box' experiences. I definitely recommend you to all my friends.

I have been to a good number of dentists over the years, and most of the time the experience or at least the anticipation has been somewhat like a thriller/horror movie. In contrast, Dr. AC at Montavilla Dental Arts is the best dentist I have ever encountered. I wish I had found Dr. AC years ago. This is the only time in my life that I don't dread going in for dental work. The team is super helpful and relaxed, team member Sahara makes sure that your life schedule does not come to a halt revolving around dental appointments, and Dr. AC personally discusses, recommends and explains everything. My mouth and teeth are super thankful, and my overall quality of life has been impacted positively due to that in a major way. If you know me in real life, you know that I have never recommended any dentist (ever) before Dr. AC. Whatever your dental needs may be, or if you just want to give your teeth a spa, I recommend at least talking to Dr. AC and the team at Montavilla. You'll immediately realize that you're talking to people who are super happy working there and working with people.

I was an emergency appointment yesterday that turned into an emergency extraction. I was super nervous (and slightly confused about timelines and services) and appreciate Dr. A-C's no-nonsense and frank conversation as well as professional advice. I am actually much less nervous now about upcoming procedures and not dreading future procedures. I'm glad I will be able to have Dr. A-C as my dentist moving forward. She also called me later on in the evening to check on me. The office was non-judgmental and friendly. Highly, highly recommend.

It was my first time having a filling with Dr. AC. Not only did Dr. AC earn my confidence, but I was in awe how she danced around the room effortlessly like a hummingbird, finished in a comfortable amount of time. I had apprehension about how the filling would look, but it matches perfectly and she explained to me how my tooth with a shelf for bacteria was now smooth as a baby's butt. I never thought I would think this, but Dr. AC has me feeling excited for the next filling, as I literally can see and feel the results of being proactive with care.
