After attending Billings schools from preschool through high school, and graduating from West High School, Dr. Hecht attended Brigham Young University. There he obtained a bachelors degree in physiology and developmental biology, with a minor in Portuguese.
Dr. Hecht has practiced for more than a decade, and provided patients with high-quality care designed to their unique situations. Working closely with each patient and the family, Dr. Hecht determines the individuals clinical needs, discusses their personal concerns, and then designs a treatment plan that works with the patients and familys lives. He focuses on treatment that is efficient, timely, and comfortable, for the best experience, and delivers healthy, beautiful smiles.
Montana Smiles Orthodontics, Dr. Hechts private practice, is a brand-new office at the west end of Billings. There he offers comprehensive orthodontics, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies, to residents from eastern Montana and northern Wyoming.
An active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and American Dental Association, Dr. Hecht regularly participates in continuing education. By staying at the forefront of the latest innovations, he carefully evaluates each new option before deciding whether to incorporate it into the practice and patient care.
Though orthodontics is Dr. Hechts profession, his family and his community are his passions. He and his wifeSarahhave four children: Alexis, Kayla, Finley, and Troy. Time with them is Dr. Hechts priority. He especially enjoys supporting and attending his kids many interests and activities, including soccer, basketball, and track. And he keeps activehimself, enjoying biking, hiking, and snowboarding.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

This is the best orthodontist in town! Dr Hecht did both my daughters' braces. We are so happy with the results. My oldest is 18 and still has a beautiful smile and she had more complicated bite issues. I priced other orthodontists and Dr Hecht is the most affordable. He also has a flexible schedule which was very helpful.

Great experience! Staff was so friendly, I was able to get an appointment quick, they were so good with my "million question" son, and the atmosphere was so clean, tidy and new. Also made an appointment for my daughter whose permanent retainer fell off.

Everyone was very kind and explained each step along the way. I'm very happy with the choice to go to them for my son's braces. Having zero clue about them meant I had a lot of questions and they were great about answering them all. Would definitely recommend!!!
