Monroe Smiles - General dentist in Monroe, WA

Dr. Jeremy Johnson spent the first few years of his life in Massachusetts, until, while he was still at a young age, his family moved overseas. He spent most of his childhood years living in Bangladesh, where his dad was a missionary dentist. Jeremys love of travel was born through the familys visits to many Southeast Asian countries.

After completing high school equivalency in Southern California, he followed his brother to Southwestern Michigan to attend college at Andrews University. In 1997, he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology.

Dr. Johnson continued his education in Southern California at Loma Linda University, receiving a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2001. During his last year of dental school, Jeremys professors selected him as the recipient of the highly sought-after Academy of General Dentistry Award for his exceptional clinical skills in dentistry.

Dr. Johnson moved to Monroe in July 2003 to assume care of a retiring dentists clients. He spends approximately 50 hours per year in continuing education courses that allow him to keep up on current techniques and technologies in dentistry.

Dr. Johnson feels his bio is incomplete without introducing you to his best friend, life partner, and master of mayhem, Heather. Shes not only integral in supporting his family at home but also in supporting the practice through marketing integration, motivational support, and emotional uplifting/thrashing, as the situation necessitates.

Dr. Johnson lives in Monroe with Heather, their son, Devan, and a terribly unattractive dog, Kenneth. Heather has three older children, Alexis, Aubrey, and Dakota, the oldest of which provided them with their first grandson in January 2015! They spend their spare time gardening, watching movies, and entertaining friends.

Dr. Padilla grew up nearby in Redmond, Washington and she is so thrilled to be back in the greater Seattle area to practice. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, Seattle and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She then proceeded to the University of Southern California and completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in Los Angeles. As much as she loved being in California (and close to her sister and Disneyland), she always looked forward to coming back to the Pacific Northwest to practice dentistry.

As a child, Dr. Padilla loved going to the dentist, and even looked forward to it! She desires the same for all of her patients, and strives to achieve this by showing the utmost respect, compassion, and understanding, regardless of a patients current oral health status. She loves to get to know her patients and relate to them on a personal level.

Dr. Israel earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. She is thrilled to bring her dedication to dentistry and her passion for the profession to Monroe Smiles. At the University of Washington, Dr. Israel was the recipient of the Academy of Operative Dentistry Award for outstanding academic and clinical performance.

Dr. Israel understands the importance of keeping pace with the rapidly evolving dental field and dedicates herself to many hours of continuing education and advanced training. She strives to provide the best dental care for her patients, the same way she would take care of her own family members.

Outside of the office, Dr. Israel holds a passion for community service. She volunteers at Union Gospel Mission, the Medical Teams International mobile dental van and the Lahai health clinic to provide free dental care for patients in need.

Originally from Egypt, Dr. Israel and her family enjoy living in the beautiful PNW. When she is not at work, she enjoys reading, spending quality time with friends and family, and exploring the outdoors hiking the beautiful trails the PNW has to offer.

It had been way too long since my last visit to a dentist - I was very scared. The Monroe Smiles staff were gentle and very kind. They took excellent care of me and never once made me feel bad or embarrassed about the lapse in time between my visits. They made me feel at ease and made it a pleasant experience.

Shoot, I thought I wrote a review for Monroe Smiles. I guess I didn't. One thing I dislike is changing dentists. You build a relationship with them over the years and become almost like family. They immediately know who you are when you call and say your name. Well, we had to change dentists and we found Monroe Smiles. We wanted to find one closer to home and are glad that we found them! Their lobby/waiting room is quaint and relaxing. Great beverage choices. The staff appears to be smiling behind their masks (I think they are!) and everyone is really friendly and gets out of their way to get to know you. The entire staff is well trained and they take care of you. Maybe another year or two and they'll know my name by heart!

I went in to get a chipped front tooth looked at thinking I'd need a crown. Dr Johnson said I didn't need one he fixed it right then. He did a perfect job on it. The staff is very professional and friendly. I will definitely be back for routine work. I highly recommend.

Honestly, the best experience I've ever had at a dentist office. Super clean, high tech, well designed office with genuine staff. I felt very comfortable, listened to and taken care of. I'm really happy I found this place because I've been neglecting my teeth for awhile due to fear of pain. Had no pain during my appointment and was treated very gently and carefully.

I was going through my first tooth removal - #6 (right eye tooth). Dr. Padilla helped me SO MUCH through the entire process, which wasn't easy for me. Her referrals (for extracting and the titanium post) were excellent. And in the end, I got an amazing implant!! It took 13 months, but so worth it. I can't recommend Dr. Padilla and her amazing team enough. Thank you to team Monroe Smiles!! PS- If you really love authentic Mexican Food, they have a great place next-door called La Bamba. Pick that up on your way out!

I visited them on a last minute visit when my crown came loose during a trip. They got me in within 24 hours, and examined my temporary crown while showing me pictures of it the entire way through. I got to see their experience first hand, my temporary crown from Connecticut looked like something from Microsoft paint compared to their photoshop quality. I'm glad they took me in before things got worse. Service is impeccable, their experience is clear, and now it feels like I have a real tooth in my mouth and not a Lego block for a temporary crown. I only wish I lived closer, they would be my go to dentist. My previous crown left my gum really tender, red and sensitive from the incorrect crown size I was given. I'm writing this review within a couple hours after the visit, and even though my gums still look red (from the precious dentist) around the crown, I feel no sensitivity or discomfort. This place is honestly outstanding, and I'm looking forward to coming back.

Highly recommend Monroe Smiles! Everyone in the office is so friendly, they're gentle and make sure you're comfortable. I like that they have modern updated equipment and the waiting area is decorated cute to feel more cozy and not like a medical facility.

Been in my share of dentist chairs throughout my life, Monroe Smiles not only has the friendliest supportive staff, but they have one of best dentist bar none in DDS Katie Padilla. I've never met a dentist so in-tune with my comfort in the chair. She's a dedicated professional it's easy to tell she genuinely cares about the patient in her chair and there is no question about your procedure that she can't address respectfully. Ella es muy buena!
