At Monroe County Family Dental, our philosophy is to treat every patient like a family member and offer the best quality care that we can provide. Going to the dentist is never fun or the highlight of anyones day, but by focusing care on each patients individual needs, we can cater the experience to every person.

The dental profession has been a blessing to me. It has allowed me to meetsome people who are truly inspirational and incredible. I understand that people typically dont love going to the dentist, but my desire is to change the dental experience and make it genuinely enjoyable.
Education is a vital aspect of my treatment philosophy. Most people are unaware of the systemic and whole body effects that poor dental health can have, from self-esteem and confidence to physical illness. I enjoy when that moment changes for people, and they see the value in maintaining or even the ability to improve their lives. Lets be honest:Im not saving the world one tooth at a time, but if I can make a positive impact in one persons life then its worth it to me.
I really enjoy learning new techniques and ways to help my patients, and I strive to be a lifelong student to allow for continual growth and knowledge. Continuing my education is the only way to ensure the best quality of care and range of treatment is offered to patients. It also allows me to offer the vast majority of dental services in-house and reduce the number of times a patient has to drive to a specialists office for treatment.
The majority of my continuing education has been related to Invisalign, oral surgery, implant placement, bone grafting, CEREC for design and fabrication of same-day crowns and restorations, and facial aesthetics courses. I have also completed training in sedation dentistry to address patients needs for sedation and anxiety management.
I was married in 2018 to Liz. We met when she was my property manager at my last apartment complex. I had so many issues with flooring and pipes that she and I spent a lot of time together. I talked her into going on a date by saying, Dont worry, its not like we are getting married, and from there its all history! We dont have children yet, but we do have a Husky/Beagle mix named Dasha.
When Im not in the office, I like physical activities, including hiking, working out at the gym, and running races. Traveling the world and experiencing different cultures, foods, and festivals is another thing I truly enjoy. Like a good Indiana native, I love the Colts and Pacers.
Being active in the community personally and as an office is really important to me. This community has given the office so much, and its only natural that we give back in kind. I enjoy volunteering and am in several organizations that are humanitarian and philanthropy-focused, and scheduleprivate dental days for free dental services throughout the year.
One of my main objectives is to change peoples perspective on dentistry and createa positive experience for them. I am energized when I ease a patient who hasdental anxiety. Seeing individuals change from being apprehensive to looking forward to their visits is rewarding.
My goal is to improve constantly, and tryto become the best dentist that I can possibly be for my patients. Dentistry is an ever-changing field, which inspires me to keep up with the newest technology and techniques. My patients deserve to receive the most up-to-date and optimal care that one can provide.
At Monroe County Family Dental, patients will always find a new piece of technology that is being implemented into everyday use. As a team, we go through extensive training and we are always on the forefront of the latest techniques and latest equipment.
I live in downtown Indianapolis, having recently moved here from Toronto, where I grew up. I have two sisters, one in Toronto who is also a dentist and the otherwho lives in Texas. My parents both live in Toronto, where they will be retiring soon.

Professional and courteous. Office is very clean and inviting. I had 4 fillings placed yesterday and the visit from start to finish was painless. Dr O answered all of my questions and the dental assistant made sure I was comfortable! Highly recommend!

This place is beautiful!!! You get a very nice view for the exam portion of the visit. I really appreciate how nice and helpful everyone was. From the desk staff, to the x-ray person, to the actual dentist, to the oral hygienist person, they were awesome and seemed excited about their work. Dr. Gardner was very impressive - he's a really nice guy who is both very gentle and knowledgeable. High recommend.

Love this place! Chipped a crown and they got me in same day. Super nice, Dr. Gardner explained my options and I'm all set to get it replaced soon. Staff is helpful and friendly.

After trying two other dental offices in the area I am delighted to finally find Monroe County Family Dental. They are so helpful and most important they're honest about what is actually needed. We paid a lot of money to the other dental offices with very little to show for it and advice aimed at making money. My brother and I have finally found our dentist!!!

The dentist Dr Pierce and the super assistant Brittani did a great job on my implant, extraction, and flipper. They have superior skill and recommend to anyone. The staff is kind, caring, and helpful. Thank you.

My cleaning was The best! My hygienist Chelsea , was very gentle but thorough. She kept me in conversation so it seemed like it went so quickly! I highly recommend her.
