Dr. Monesmith was born and raised in New Haven, Indiana. He completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University. His Doctor of Dental Surgery degree was obtained from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1989. Dr. Monesmith then completed his Oral and Maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. He then started practice in Jasper, Indiana in 1993. Drs. Monesmith and Wood formed their partnership in 2005. They opened a second office in Vincennes, Indiana in 2008.
Dr. Monesmith is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association. Dr. Monesmith also enjoys mission trips to Haiti for the treatment of pathology, tumors and cleft lip and palate. Practice interests include: dental-alveolar surgery, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, pathology, and trauma. He is on staff at Memorial Hospital in Jasper and Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Dr. Monesmith and his wife have four children and have resided in Jasper since 1993. He enjoys golf, tennis, fishing and participating in church related activities. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Wood grew up in Mitchell, Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree Summa Cum Laude from Franklin College and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, with high distinction, from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1996. He then completed a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Indiana University Medical Center and Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Wood has lead numerous medical mission trips to Haiti where he focuses on the treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathology and tumors as well as cleft lip and palate surgery. His practice interests include the treatment of oral and maxillofacial pathology, implant surgery, orthognathic Jaw surgery, and trauma. He is on staff at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana and Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
Dr. Wood and his wife, Shannon, have seven children. They have a heart for international adoption and have adopted children from Haiti, Guatemala, and Ethiopia. He enjoys flying airplanes and traveling.

Facility and staffing very professional. Efficiency of appointment and operations on surgery day timely, however the attending surgeon was quite rushed in his manner and I truly felt he couldn't get out of the room fast enough. Cost of the procedure surprised me and my insurance. My fault for not asking up front. However, the biggest issue by far..... Explanation of post surgery scenarios and procedures for addressing possible complications and pain management post surgery was very substandard. While they gave post surgery instructions, they were common sense in nature and not relevant to the extensive nature of my procedure and level of pain. Thankful that the final outcome was satisfactory 6 weeks later, but 3 weeks of complications, pain and excessive bleeding for what I thought was a routine extraction (my first, other than 4 wisdom teeth 25 years ago which went much smoother) are the lasting impression. Not sure I would return again.

Dr. Wood and his staff (especially Natalie) were very attentive and kind. Dr. Wood explained everything he was doing in such a calm manner that it lessened my anxiety for the procedure. I would highly recommend them!

I had a great experience. I could fill out the paperwork online so I had that done before I arrived. They got me in quick and Dr Wood had my wisdom tooth out before I knew it. I especially appreciated him telling me what he was doing during the procedure.

Everyone was very nice! The office called me to see if I wanted to take a cancellation slot at 9:45 and of course said yes since my time was at noon! I didn't get in until 10:15 though and missed more work because if that!

I would highly recommend Dr.Monesmith to everyone! Him and his staff were truly the greatest! You could definitely not find any one else more skilled than them! My husband was very impressed too! He is telling a lot of different people about how smooth everything went with my procedure!!! I will definitely go there again if the time comes to have a tooth extracted! You are the best! I didn't have any pain whatsoever the following day! No pain medication needed!!!
