Summer is the time for outdoor sports and you can protect your teeth, cheeks, gums and lips with a low-cost mouth guard. It could save you from a knocked out or chipped tooth, and it will prevent you from grinding your teeth during the big game.
No really, just dont. Weve all seen someone open a bottle with their teeth. An amazing feat? Nope, but a great way to cause micro fractures in your teeth. Using your teeth to rip open potato chip bags or to crush ice are also no nos.
The short answer is no. You most likely cannot sunburn your teeth. Shwew! Your lips on the other hand can sunburn. In fact, your lips might be the most susceptible to sunburn. Its important not to rely on regular sunscreen to protect your lips, choose a lip balm with a minimum of SPF 15. It is designed for your lips, and it will stick better. And just like with sunscreen, remember to reapply it every couple hours.
There are lots of reasons to smile all summer long. Evidence suggests that smiling reduces stress and helps your heart. So show those teeth! Brush twice a day, floss daily and smile big. You'll feel better when you do.

This place has gone down the toilet since Doc Procopio sold out. Today the office called us to say they needed to reschedule cleanings for my wife and 2 children. It's November 1st and they can't fit us in again until the end of May? They stated they now have ZERO hygenists on staff. Back in August I had to reschedule my own cleaning. My doing this time, but with plenty of notice. The office couldn't get me back in until February! They stated they would put me on a cancellation list. I've been on this mysterious list before but somehow have never once gotten a call. This place went from the best doc ever to a garbage chute in a few years. Moving on and good riddance! Very sad to see Doc Procopios legacy ruined like this.

This is a great dental practice. Very well run and the staff is very helpful. I've needed extensive dental work and Dr. Procopio is the best. I highly recommend them!

Absolutely terrible. Dr. Procopio and his staff were wonderful, but ever since they sold out to Mondavi Dental, my appointments are cancelled without my consent and rescheduled for 6+ months away. Then they cancel again. With multiple cancellations, it will now be 1.5 years between appointments. They've taken on too many new patients and left their existing patients in the dust. Corporate greed at its worst.

Courteous and professional service. As soon as you walk in the door, receptionist great, Pam -Dental Hygienist, 10 stars, and Dr. Procopio is the best. I thought I'd give an update as I just had my teeth cleaning . I was relaxed due to the expertise of the dental hygienist Pam Hartsell as She always does an outstanding job and I actually like getting my teeth cleaned! :)

Dr. Stevener, Rob and the Administrative Support team are excellent!!! I recently had a tooth infection and needed to be seen the same day I called and they saw me within a few hours. Their Periodontal Clinician is fabulous too!! The medical expertise and state of the art equipment is definitely why I chose this group in 2017 when I moved back to Syracuse. Their kindness goes above and beyond all that. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
