Our office features high velocity evacuation (HVE) systems that reduce airborne aerosols. The Isolite system creates an environment with fewer harmful aerosols. Isolite is designed to provide high-volume oral evacuation, during appropriate dental procedures.

We have fully supported the World Health Organizations (WHO) position during the pandemic. The Aug. 3 article from the WHO sparked additional articles from other news outlets. Several news outlets wrote headlines to grab the publics attention. However, it did not match the interim guidance provided by the WHO.

The WHO advises that routine non-essential oral health care which usually includes oral health check-ups, dental cleanings, and preventive care be delayeduntil there has been sufficient reduction in COVID-19 transmission rates from community transmission to cluster cases or according to official recommendations at national, sub-national, or local level. The same applies to esthetic dental treatments.

That part in italics puts a whole new spin on the WHO recommendation that is aimed at the planet, not at the U.S. alone. We follow this recommendation and the mandates, recommendations, and guidelines of national, state, and local authorities. Also, the American Dental Association responded to the WHO stating that Dentistry is Essential Health Care.

We remain committed to protecting everyone, especially vulnerable patients in at-risk categories, through the guidelines stated in the article and applied in compliance with the CDC and the ADA recommendations.

April has been with our office since 2005. She graduated from Alamance Community College with a certificate in Dental Assisting in 1994 and also took her DANB exam to become a certified dental assistant which allowed her to perform all the expanded functions of a dental assistant. She later decided to attend Guildford Technical Community College where she obtained an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2000 and graduated top of her class. After 13 years of working as a dental hygienist, she took the Office Manager position. April married her high school sweetheart in 1994 and they have 2 children, Caleb and Grayson. They enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. She loves working with patients and building long-lasting relationships with them.

Nichole has been with our office since 2008 and has our patients best interests in mind. She spends a lot of time educating her patients and providing therapeutic treatments to ensure healthy teeth and gums. Nichole graduated from Southern Alamance High School and was part of the National Honor Society. She then went on to graduate from the University of North Carolinas Dental Assisting Program in 2003, and later graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program in 2006 where she also served as class treasurer. Nichole is married and has two children, Layla and Braxton.

Tiffney joined our team in January 2021. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program in 2020 from GTCC. Tiffney enjoys educating her patients on reaching their optimal oral health and spending quality time getting to know her patients. One of her favorite things about dentistry is helping guide her patients to have confidence when they smile. In Tiffney's free time, she enjoys lounging with her English Bulldog Wilbur, reading, spending quality time with her loved ones, and taking boat rides on the lake!

Dr. Monahan & his terrific team of ladies (front desk to assistants) treated me as a #1 patient...got me in quickly, set up a treatment plan. I needed my wisdom tooth taken out (and it was being very stubborn) but he never griped or made me feel badly, it was after 5 and I know everyone was ready to go home so I appreciate everyone here! Mollie attended Alamance Community College, where she obtained a certificate in Dental Assisting in 2021. During her time in the program, she completed an internship with our office, which allowed us to see how compassionate she was for dentistry. She loves most working in an office with the technology and knowledge to change a persons self-confidence through dentistry.

Erin graduated from Alamance Community College in 1997 with a certificate in Dental Assisting. She has over 21 years of experience and is currently working as our insurance coordinator. Erin married Steven, the love of her life. They have three children, Hannah, Elijah, and Rachel. She is very involved in church, a pianist, and sings with her family. She loves crafting, shopping, fishing, and hunting.

Our dental office is led by Burlington dentist, Dr. Thomas W. Monahan, IV, DMD who has the training and expertise you deserve from your dentist. Dr. Monahan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia in chemistry. In 2008, Dr. Monahan graduated from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 2008.

Dr. Monahan began practicing dentistry in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2008. Just a couple years later, he joined Dr. Alexander as an associate dentist at our previous Burlington, NC office located at 115 Engleman Ave.

Dr. Monahan wanted to continue the great dentistry that Dr. Alexander started, so he acquired the dental practice in 2013. In March of 2019, Dr. Monahan moved to a new state-of-the-art office that he designed. The new modern office includes:

Digital radiograph, better known as digital x-ray provides a better experience for patients. The radiation that a patient is subjected to from tradition x-rays is a concern for patients. Comparatively, our digital x-rays is approximately an 80% reduction that patients are subjected to.

Additionally, digital radiographs provide a higher quality image for our dentists to review. In other words, a digital x-ray may provide insight into an issue that has just started. Besides, the image is immediately available on the chairside monitor in your treatment room.
