Passion for helping people is why I became a dentist. Seeing the look on peoples faces when they are blown away by my high level of care, especially when they have given up hope, is very satisfying. I love the challenge of helping people who say things like, I have never been able to get numb at dentists in the past, or I am petrified of going to the dentist, or I have not been to the dentist in 30 years and I know my mouth is a mess, or I am in an extreme amount of pain. Can you get me out of pain? Reversing their negative perceptions about going to the dentist and making clients as comfortable as possible is a must in my office. Each situation is unique and beautiful. To help patients fulfill their dental needs in the most effective way possible, I have chosen a lifelong study in the art and science of sedation dentistry, oral conscious sedation.
Many hours of educational training for myself and team, plus always having the latest equipment and beautiful, relaxing facility, have enabled us to accomplish our goal for our wonderful family of patients.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Indiana Dental Association, West Central Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Native to West Lafayette, I graduated from Harrison High School, and completed my undergraduate studies at Purdue University. I earned my DDS Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Indiana University. Spending time with my family and friends, going for nature walks with family and dogs, being active outdoors, reading, music, movies, and camping are my favorite pastimes. We have three wonderful children Samantha, Landon, and Emerson.
Debbie joined the Mohr and Mohr Smiles team in October 2005. She is a 1971 graduate of Indiana Universitys School of Dental Hygiene and has completed one year of specialty training at I.U. in graduate periodontics. She is CPR certified and Dental Oral Consicious Sedation Certified. Debbie has come to Mohr & Mohr Smiles with 46 years of experience in non-surgical periodontal treatment, cosmetic dental assessment, oral cancer brush biopsy, oral preventative care, oral care for oncology patients, intraoral camera use, digital x-rays, diagnodent (laser early decay detection), Arestin (antibiotic therapy), and Zoom Whitening. Debras commitment to total patient care is demonstrated by her development of individualized treatment plans for oral preventive therapy. Debbie says, I respect and admire the commitment and the approach to treatment planning that both Drs. Cameron and Beth Mohr have.

As an adult with an overwhelming fear of the dentist's office, it was refreshing to meet Ashley during one of the most painful toothaches of my life. After visiting a neighboring dental office and being told I'd have to wait nearly two weeks for the tooth to be pulled, a coworker of mine recommended Dr. Mohr's office. They were able to see me immediately and were confident they would be able to extract the problematic tooth. The office itself was aesthetically pleasing and I was met with a warm greeting upon arrival. After a surprisingly short wait, I was shown to "the chair", and began explaining my predicament to the lovely Ashley. She could sense my anxiety and took the time to talk me through each step of the process. Communication was impeccable, as insurance coverage and out of pocket costs were shared in a very clear manner. I'll spare you the details of the procedure, but it was so different from my previous experiences. Relaxed. Focused. I felt like a person, rather than a mouth with a body like the other offices over my lifetime. I'm excited to return and get my dental health back on track. Thank you, Ashley and Dr. Mohr! Very accomodative and welcoming staff unlike a few other dentistries in the area. They tell you clearly and precisely about your insurance coverage and dental procedure. Dr. Mohr is a lively person who keeps his patients involved and answers all the questions patiently. Overall a great experience. Looking forward to my follow up visit.

I had been putting off getting work done for years because fear of pain and general unpleasantness of dental work. The team at Mohr and Mohr used sedation. It was like time travel. I just took a nap and when I woke up the work was completed. I'll be back in the future. Highly recommend

Best dentist experience ever! Seriously, this place changed my entire view of going to the dentist. I am embarrisingly 23 and (until now) have been deathly afraid of the dentist my entire life. I've had terrible experiences with the dentist in the past physically, financially, and emotionally. It had been about 3 years since I had been to the dentist, partly because of COVID but also because I'll use any excuse to get out of going to the dentist. I new this place was going to be different from the first phone call I made to their office. One of their incredibly knowledgable and friendly receptionists researched my insurance for me, talked me through their entire sedation process, and patiently answered all my questions. When I arrived for my appointment, everyone was just as friendly and calming as they were on the phone. The dental hygenist that saw me was amazing! She took time to talk me through exactly what she was doing and what Dr. Mohr would do when he would see me later on. Dr. Mohr was also so friendly, kind, and respectful. I felt extremely cared for. It's clear that patient care is their number 1 priority. They made me feel extremely comfortable, they took time to get to know me, and they made me feel in control of the entire situation. I would recommond this dentist to anyone and everyone looking for great dental care! Even though I'm moving away from the area in the next few months, I'll still be booking my dental appointments here whenever I travel back to see family.

It was my first time going every one showed politeness and concern of my dental care,I was well taken care of, and the Dentist was quick and good I had little to no pain afterwards. I was giving great after care instructions. They are affordable when when you have an emergency their on it.

I just moved to the area and was very concerned about finding a good dentist. I have many crowns, root canals and an implant. I chose Mohr and Mohr and had my first visit yesterday. I was impressed with all aspects of the process. The office staff was very thorough and polite. They gathered all the information needed from my cardiologist and insurance company. The hygienist was very knowledgeable and experienced. Their technology specifically the X-ray machines was first rate. Doctor Mohr was excellent as well. Thanks to the staff and Dr. Mohr.

I would recommend this dentist to all Purdue students like myself who are looking for good dental care. Dr. Mohr and his staff are really professional and helpful - they took really good care of me, and recommended the optimal course of treatment for my dental issues (and took the time to explain how the dental insurance works since I am an international student who was initially unsure of a lot). I visited a total of three times for x rays & consultation, cleaning and fillings which were all done efficiently. I think Dr. Mohr also has a good sense of humor, which definitely helps the overall nervousness of having to visit the dentist (plus his staff are so nice!).

I cannot say enough great things about my experience here! They saw our family which includes two kids, my husband and myself. We were treated wonderfully and the process of scheduling and payment/insurance was easy and what I consider normal! I have not experienced that when trying to find a dentist at any other place in this town. I felt appreciated, listened to, and given great advice and help. My kids were treated the best and that means the most to me! I will only be coming here from now on and Erin is amazing!! I would be her best friend in real life :)
