Our doctors, Dr. Moffett and Dr. Walley, are trained, board-certified orthodontists. Orthodontists are dentists who go on to pursue further education. Out of 100 dental school graduates, on average, only six go on to become orthodontists.
Your doctor will review your photos and X-rays to determine the best way to treat your unique orthodontic needs. Then youll choose the type of braces you wanttraditional metal, clear ceramic, or Invisalign.
Gone are the days of painful headgear, clunky bands on every tooth, and overly tight stainless steel wires. Today's orthodontic treatment is much more comfortable than it used to be. This is because of shape-memory NiTi wires.
With the same technology that NASA uses, NiTi wires exert a continuous force against the teeth to move them in the right direction. This gets rid of the need for wire tightening. This means you spend less time in braces, and the time you do spend is more comfortable.

While in dental school, Dr. Moffett served as dental class president for four years and received numerous achievements including the J. Julius Ratliff Orthodontic Award, Pierre Fauchard Leadership Award, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists Award.
In 2015, Dr. Moffett was accepted as one of four residents to the Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics Residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN. Dr. Moffett spent three additional years training at UT, and he graduated with both his orthodontic certificate and Masters of Dental Science Degree.
When Dr. Moffett is not at the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting (especially bowhunting), fishing, camping, and exercising. They are members at Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church and stay active at their church and childrens school.
Dr. Walley attended Co-Lin Community College, followed by Mississippi College, where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree. He attended dental school at the University of Tennessee and worked as a general dentist in Mississippi for four years after graduation.
Dr. Walley and his wife then moved to St. Louis, MO for him to specialize in orthodontics at St. Louis University. After receiving a Masters Degree in Orthodontics, he returned to Mississippi and opened his orthodontic practice in Jackson in 1980.
An esteemed member of the dental community, Dr. Walley is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member in many leading dental and orthodontic organizations, including the American and Southern Association of Orthodontists.
Away from the office, Dr. Walley enjoys traveling, going to car shows, and restoring classic Corvettes. He supports local school and sports fundraisers and hosts a pet food drive for local shelters during the holidays.

A wire from my braces was poking me and causing significant discomfort, and even though Dr. Moffett isn't my orthodontist, their office was so helpful in getting me in to take care of it. All the staff were cordial! Thank you!

Dr Moffett is wonderful! I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. I have taken all 3 of my girls to him. When my girls walk in the staff knows them by name! They are always so friendly. Dr Moffett is so informative on what he is doing and always takes a few minutes to answer questions. I highly recommend him!

I absolutely loooooooooovvvvee them!! They literally made me feel like family and like they've known me forever and I'm literally a new patient! Everybody was extraordinarily nice! I had a previous bad experience with the first time I got braces with a different dentist but omg they made the second go round the absolute best! I would recommend them to everyone

The best orthodontist around! I have been going to them for years and they have taken such good care of me. Everyone from the receptionists to the nurses are so warm and friendly and they will help you with any problems you might have. I definitely recommend Moffett and Walley for any orthodontic needs!

Dr. Moffett is such a great orthodontist! I am a current graduate student at MC and a Louisiana resident. I came into his office with a broken retainer and he was able to fix it with no hesitation. We have had nothing but amazing experiences each visit! My 9 year old daughter received her first set of braces today and I can not speak highly enough of the amazing staff and the extra mile they each took to make sure it was a smooth process every step of the way! They walked her through each step and showed her all that they were going to be doing, were extremely encouraging and kind, and made us both feel like family. They are very knowledgeable, personable, and go over and beyond their job titles to make you feel welcomed and at ease. I can not say enough great things and highly recommend them to anyone and everyone need orthodonture services!
