Dr. Jignesh Modha grew up in Dubai, UAE. His passion for the healthcare field and helping the community drove him to pursue dentistry as a career. He attended his first dental school in India and earned his Bachelors in Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2013. Dr. Modha had a desire to further his education so he came to the US and attended a dual Masters program at the University of Texas in Houston where he graduated with a Masters in Public Health (MPH Epidemiology) and a Masters of Science (MS) in Health Informatics. During that time he was also a part of a research team that undertook multiple research projects at the esteemed MD Anderson Cancer Center. Soon after he got accepted at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS). With his diverse education he is able to practice evidence-based dentistry and strives to provide his patients with the best care.
Erika graduated from Penn College of Technology with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2011 and received her Bachelors Degree in Health Policy and Administration in 2013. She has been practicing as a hygienist since 2011. She was previously employed for 9 years at Dr. John Robisons office in State College. She had the joy of working for Dr. Gaunt in 2020 and has since been thrilled with the opportunity to continue with Dr. Modha. She has also been teaching dental hygiene at Penn College to future dental hygiene students since 2014. She loves connecting and establishing a rapport with her patients, as well as helping them to find what works best for them with their overall oral health needs.
She married her high school sweetheart Sam in 2013, welcomed Eliana in 2014, Ainsley in 2016, and Coleson in 2019. She loves spending time with her family, especially watching funny videos and having dance parties, laughing, exercising, being outside, reading, cooking, interior design, and taking on home DIY projects with her husband.
As her as her name implies, Joy is a complete joy to our patients and staff! She has been an integral member of the dental team in our office since 2004 and has an extensive background in practice management and coordinating dental care. She looks forward to establishing rapport and relationships with each of our patients.
Kathie graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2009. She was working as a hygienist for Gaunt Family Dentistry in 2009 and has been with the practice through its transition to Modha Family Dentistry in 2021. Kathie has also worked for 8 years in a Community Dental Health Clinic. She obtained her local anesthesia license in 2012. Kathie prides herself on helping patients feel comfortable and having each patient leave with a smile on their face.
Valerie began her career as a dental hygienist in 1998. After working for Dr. Richard Beatty for 22 years and providing substitute dental hygienist care in many local dental offices, she accepted a dental hygienist position at Modha Family Dentistry in 2020. Valerie loves interacting with and meeting new patients.
Valerie lives in the Nippenose Valley with her husband Chuck and their two teenage sons, Evan and Logan. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking, camping, the beach, and serving Jesus.
Wanda is an invaluable member of the office with over 30 years of experience in the dental field. She began practicing at Gaunt Family Dentistry 2001 as an assistant to Dr. Jay Gaunt. She continues assisting Dr. Modha as needed in the transition to Modha Family Dentistry and is available for any endeavor to support the office with her vast dental knowledge and wisdom.

I needed a new dentist and took the advice of a friend to go to Dr. Modha's office. This is not an easy thing for me since I am only mobile by a wheelchair. However, the staff at the office were very helpful and friendly. Kathie, the Dental Hygienist, was very patient with me and very good with teeth. Dr. Modha was friendly and courteous.

I moved to the area from another county and needed to find a new dentist which is not something I like to do. A person told me of Modha Family Dentistry and I made an appointment. The experience was very good. The staff was very helpful to me as a new patient and Dr. Modha explained things thoroughly concerning the options for my treatment. I have found my new dentist!

Dr. Mohda and his staff have taken wonderful care of me... my dental needs became extreme and had to have a bridge installed .... Everything went very well with no pain and his extreme care and attention to detail really made it an acceptable experience... thank you Dr. Mocha and staff!!

The staff at Dr. Modha's are great. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The service is excellent and professional and Dr. Modha is never in a hurry. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I have to say Dr. Modha is a great dentist, he really takes pride in his work! He kept checking and rechecking that I was satisfied and till he was too! The extra care he took is much appreciated my teeth and I are extremely happy!

Dr. Modha and his team are very kind and attentive. You feel very comfortable as soon as you enter the waiting room! Pleasant receptionists typically give greeting and direction. He is detail oriented and examines your teeth closely to prevent any possible problems. The hygienists are just as thorough and will answer any questions you may have. They keep the highest standards of care and cleanliness. I will be returning!

Dr Modha did a restoration on my tooth in October . He has a wonderful chair side manner ! He and his assistant explained what was happening and made me feel so comfortable! I had no pain during or after. I would recommend this office to all who would appreciate high quality dentistry with a caring, kindhearted staff.
