Dr. Shawkat completed his Advance Education in General Dentistry at the University of Florida. He is skilled in restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns and bridges. As well as proficient in aligning teeth using clear aligners therapy. Moreover, he is experienced in root canal treatments and implant dentistry.
Dr. Shawkats commitment to furthering his education includes applying the knowledge of current up-to-date technology for the purpose of correcting malocclusion and giving his patients an aesthetically pleasing and functioning smile. In correlation, Dr. Shawkat continues to push his knowledge with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry in placing and restoring dental implants.

Very disappointed with their services, had to call three times to know why my daughter's Invisalign replacement did not arrive after a month. For them to figure out there was a mistake and ask them to ship it back. If it wasn't my insistence she would have her treatment interrupted after more than a year. The attendant wasn't even sorry or apologize for the mistake, lake of information and for no one have called me back after three weeks calling them. Very upsetting and disappointing!

I have been a patient for Modern Smile Dentistry for years and all the staff is amazing. I do my my six month dental cleaning with Paola and she is very professional and provide a great teeth cleaning. The office is neat and has modern dental technology.

Love, love Modern Smiles in Lake Nona. The staff is amazing!!! My cleanings are like none other I've experienced. The dentist is very thorough in explaining the process with my Invisalign. In a society where no one seems to care anymore, that's not the case here - I also convinced my husband to come here and he is also very pleased with their services!!!

First time coming to Modern Smiles Dentistry. Everyone was perfectly kind, welcoming, and professional from the start. The office and practices are very clean and hygienic. In addition to Dr. S, I was seen by the fabulous Fabianna (dental assistant) and wonderful Andreina (hygienist), and they were all great. From my experience, they actively listen when you have something to share, and make the process as quick and comfortable as possible. I also didn't have a cleaning scheduled for today due to the emergency nature of making my appt, but they were able to check and do the cleaning the same day once I was in the office. The cleaning was very thorough, and I could tell when Andreina went back in to a spot she wasn't totally satisfied with. My mouth feels really clean. This may seem small, but I also really appreciate the pegs on the wall to hang your purse, because not every office has them. Lastly, I don't have dental insurance but had to see a dentist due to an extremely painful tooth, and this appt didn't break my bank like I thought it would. Will be glad to be back and to recommend to others. Thanks!

The facility and the doctor are wonderful. The new hygienist I saw today however was the worst I've had in my entire life. I've had the same cleanings over the past 4 years of being a patient and I have never experienced so much pain in my life. She started the tools directly on my gum which resulted in unnecessary bleeding. This was worse pain than all of my tattoos combined.

I tend to be apprehensive of Dentist due to multiple bad experiences. I can count on 2 great experiences one in Naperville Illinois and now here in Florida. I was still nervous... but after the hygienist and Doctor saw me ... I was pleasantly surprised! They were gentle,understanding,they listened to my concerns and acted on them so compassionately.
