When you become a patient of our practice, Dr. von Lackum evaluates your oral health using a whole body health approach. Research continually finds that periodontal disease shares an association with a number of other conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. If you have been diagnosed with gum disease and another systemic ailment, it is best to create a care team that includes your physician and your periodontist. Having a care team that works closely together can help with disease management and reduce the risk of complications.

We believe patients that understand their condition and their options for treatment are able to make a better informed decision. Dr. von Lackum takes time to educate each patient one-on-one, so that they can select which treatment option is right for them.

We understand that many patients have fear and anxiety when coming to the dentist. Often individuals avoid dental visits altogether, putting their teeth and gums at risk. But there's no reason to worry - our office is a place where you can relax, as we offer a calm environment with a variety of sedation options to keep you calm, comfortable, and safe during your treatment.
