Dr. Brainard Llanes graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 2002 after receiving his Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana in 1995. He worked at Rush University Hospital for several years under Dr. Judith Lubosky, PhD. in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Llanes dedicated his time researching the immune systems effects on premature menopause and unexplained infertility. He successfully published several papers in medical journals.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Llanes devoted his time in mastering the arts of dental science as well as attending continuing education courses, such as endodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, dental implants, and cosmetic dentistry. He received his advanced education in orthodontics through the Orthodontic Education Continuum in 2012 and is also a certified Invisalign-trained provider.
Dr. Llanes is a highly skilled practitioner and an accomplished lecturer and clinical advisor for various dental companies. Dr. Llanes is a study club member of Spear Education, which is regarded internationally as one of the most advanced continuing education study groups for dental professionals. He has published several papers in medical journals and has earned his Fellowship with International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Mastership with the International Dental Implant Association.
Dr. Brainard Llanes is recognized in Americas Top Dentists and TopDoc Roselle. He is a member in good standing with the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, International Association for Orthodontics and the International Dental Implant Association.
His staff and patients admire his utmost professionalism and easygoing manner. Dr. Llanes enjoys seeing patients of all ages. He is exceptionally dedicated to treating his patients with patience and respect, while providing the best dental care available. Dr. Llanes takes pride in his work and insures that his patients are 100% pleased with their treatment. In addition to providing exceptional dental care to his patients, he values giving back to the community. He has participated in numerous community events such as Dentistry for the Heart, a nonprofit organization to provide dental services to underserved communities. Dr. Llanes and his wife, Maryann also travel to the Philippines every year to host a free dentistry day to local communities. In his spare time, Dr. Llanes enjoys swing and salsa dancing, working with computers, and spending time with his wife, Maryann.
Dr. Paul Litvin graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 1969. Following dental school, Dr. Litvin pursued his Master Degree in Periodontics at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH in 1972.
He is in good standing with American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Midwest Society of Periodontology, Illinois Society of Periodontists, and International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Litvins primary focus, as a periodontal specialist, is the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of gum disease as well as cosmetic procedures to enhance your smile. He is dedicated to optimizing patients oral health to make their teeth last a lifetime. Dr. Litvin finds it extremely rewarding to see his patients satisfied with their teeth restored to a healthy condition. He enjoys working at Modern Essence Dentistry due to the friendly and caring attitude of his co-workers as well as seeing how Dr. Llanes takes the same great care and concern that he does in his patients.
Maryann is our Dental Hygienist. Born and raised in the Philippines, Maryann graduated with a degree in Dentistry from the University of the East, Manila in 2000. She came to the United States in 2001 where she worked as a dental assistant for several years and then graduated with Honors as a Dental Hygienist from the College of DuPage in 2008. She is highly skilled in improving and maintaining patients oral health. She is certified to provide local oral sedation and is experienced with orthodontics. She truly enjoys working with patients of all ages, especially children. Her gentle touch and friendly manner instantly puts our patients at ease. In her free time, Maryann loves photography, crafting and enjoys spending time with her family and husband, Brainard.
Erica has been a Dental Hygienist for over fifteen years. She graduated from Marquette University with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene after completing a bachelors degree in Biology from Loyola University. Erica always makes sure the patient is given the best quality care with a gentle and thorough touch. She wants every individual to leave with a smile. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her husband Matt, and being outdoors biking and hiking.
Helen is our insurance coordinator. She is your main resource in coordinating your dental insurance benefits and making sure you get the most accurate information regarding your plan. Patients know her by her warm smile and caring personality. She welcomes any questions you may have about insurance, scheduling, treatment, etc. Helen enjoys decorating and loves using her creativity to its fullest extent. When shes not here at work, you can find her running her home caregiving business and spending time with her husband, Marlon and her 5-year-old daughter Marian.
Lauren oversees all marketing, advertising, and social media for our practice. She loves using her creative skills to provide new ideas to wow our patients. Lauren also owns a dance studio in Elk Grove Village (www.ciminodance.com) and directs EGHSs Orchesis and Competitive Dance Team. When not working - and sometimes while working - Lauren is chasing around her three kids.
Ivette is one of our dental assistants here at Modern Essence Dentistry. She prides herself on making our patients feel comfortable and making everything flow smoothly behind the scenes. She attended College of Dupage and studied in the Dental Assistant Training Program. Ivette has always been fascinated by the dental industry, especially orthodontics, and she plans to go back to school to become a dental hygienist. Outside of work, Ivette loves to travel, shop, and spend time with her son.
